What's my burn rate?

So, I work out on my wii EA Sports Active, for 23 minutes. The program tells me I burned 136 calories. My Sportline Pulse watch tells me I burned 336 cals. Which one is right? Any clues? I know the watch is not the top of the line medical equipment. But the wii can't get my heartbeat at all.

For tonight, I split the difference for logging and called it 230. Either way, not bad for a rest night!

Lose a pound the easy way... Give Blood!!

Now that we are starting to feel healthy, it's important to help those who are not. We all know of someone with health issues or someone who has had surgery or been in an accident. Where do you think they get that blood???? From people like us.

Yes, I know that this is not permanent weight loss and I had cookies and real juice afterward. But I also made sure it was AFTER my official weigh in time. I have a week to build back the blood in my system. And did I say I got to eat COOKIES with NO guilt?? emoticon

Just make sure your iron is up when you go to donate. Take your vitamins with extra iron for a few days before just in case. It's no fun to get that far just to be turned away!

Thanks to exercising more and realizing that I needed to EAT More food also, I am very happy to report that it was two pounds that bit the dust this week!! Although my goal is 1 lb a week, that second pound is gone and I DO NOT want it back!

So I was a little inspired, I got this song in my head a couple of weeks ago and decided to do a little rewrite. I sing the reprise every time I step on the scale.

I have to eat more?? Really?

Okay, this is freaking me out. I was initially supposed to eat 1,400 cals daily. Then I started working out a little and I was supposed to go up to 1,510 a day. And then I up my workout and the system wants me to eat even more??? 1,630 seems like SO much food. I will do it... I will make my minimums.

It just seems that if I work out to burn 300 - 400 calories, I should not have to EAT 1,000 more calories. It just freaks me out that I'm trying to lose weight and this crazy program keeps telling me to eat more food. I know, I know the body needs food like a car needs gas to run.

I too cannot believe it. I corrected my cardio minutes and yes my calorie intake went up.

But I also noticed that now that I am choosing better foods and drinking water, I am getting full quicker and believe it or notI was having trouble hitting my #'s.

I know I have to eat to fuel my body in order to workout, but wow what a difference from before SP to now.

    I just reran my diet plan and I have to increase by 600 calories! Holy-heck Batman that is an entire meal plus for me. But, like you I will do.

    I work two jobs.

During the week where I sit most of the time (even though I hit the gym after work) I try to eat at the lower end of my calories.

On the weekend I am on my feet lifting heavy boxes - bending up and down for 8 hours each day. THEN I let myself eat at the higher end. I still hit the gym after work.

And some days you are just hungrier!!! I like the space the nutrition tracker gives me just in case I want a little something extra during the day.
