Changed my User Name from Want2LoseItNow!

Monday, October 19, 2009

I decided that I needed to change my user name to make it more positive. This one wasn't working for me. Yes I have wanted to lose it now! for a long time. But now Going2LoseNow makes it more of a positive statement!

I have been sick for the past week, so I have been down. I have a big tax midterm in the morning, and I have a wedding cake to decorate for Saturday- I have too many things to do to be sick!!

In the past month I have lost 7 lbs, so I am doing much better in that department. I seem to finally gotten my mind and body connected to the same goal and dream.

I just want to get to feeling better, so I can get back to my exercising so I don't lose momentum.

I just got the Curves Toning Sneakers, and I am so anxious to try them out- I tried doing my walk workout video, but got so dizzy that I had to stop. SO, I didn't do it Saturday or Sunday.

Take care, and have a great week!

The Wicker Basket

Sunday, October 18, 2009

The story is told of an old man who lived on a farm in the mountains of
eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning, Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading from his old worn-out Bible. His
grandson who wanted to be just like him tried to imitate him in any way he

One day the grandson asked, 'Papa, I try to read the Bible just like you
but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I
close the book. What good does reading the Bible do?' The Grandfather
quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and said, 'Take this old
wicker coal basket down to the river and bring back a basket of water.'

The boy did as he was told, even though all the water leaked out be fore he
could get back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, 'You will
have to move a little faster next time,' and sent him back to the river with
the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the old
wicker basket was empty before he returned home. out of breath, he told his
grandfather that it was 'impossible to carry water in a basket,' and he went
to get a bucket instead. The old man said, 'I don't want a bucket of water;
I want a basket of water. You can do this. You're just not trying hard
enough,' and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his
grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak
out before he got far at all. The boy scooped the water and ran hard, but
when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath,
he said, 'See Papa, it's useless!'

'So you think it is useless?' The old man said, 'Look at the basket.'

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time he realized that the
basket looked different. Instead of a dirty old wicker coal basket, it was

'Son, that's what happens when you read the Bible. You might not
understand or remember everything, but when you read it, it will change you
from the inside out.'

Moral: Take time to read a portion of God's word each day;
it will affect you for good even if you don't retain a word.

Thought for Today:
Gods Love is like the ocean, you can see its beginnings but not its end.

I really like this story because I don't retain things too well
anymore...old age may have something to do with it but I just figure my
brain just gets overloaded! But God isn't concerned about your brain anyway,
He's more concerned about your heart.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Friday, October 16, 2009

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. '

A sharp tongue can cut your own throat.

If you want your dreams to come true, you mustn't oversleep.

Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.

The best vitamin for making friends..... B1.

The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.

The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge.

One thing you can give and still keep...is your word.

You lie the loudest when you lie to yourself.

If you lack the courage to start, you have already finished.

One thing you can't recycle is wasted time.

Ideas won't work unless ' You ' do.

Your mind is like a parachute...it functions only when open..

The 10 commandments are not a multiple choice.

The pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime! It is never too late to become what you might have been.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.. So love the people who treat you right.. Forget about the one's who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it..

Friends are like balloons; once you let them go, you might not get them back. Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away. Sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's right and wrong. Sometimes we just don't realize what real friendship means until it is too late. I don't want to let that happen so I'm gonna tie you to my heart so I never lose you. emoticon

Day I begin the 21 Day Metabolism MakeOver!

Thursday, October 15, 2009

OK- Here we go.

I am starting the 21 day Metabolism Makeover today. It is part of the Food Lovers Fat Loss System.

I am really impressed with the system and the way they have it laid out. It is very easy to follow. They don't overload you with too much at once. Each day you incorporate something new.

You don't have to count calories ( except prepackaged snacks- keep to 100-200 calories, for women, 200-300 for men)

The basic premise is keeping your body in the fat burning mode rather than the fat storing mode- basic way to keep that is eating every two to three hours, regulating blood sugar.

Drinking water very important!

Journaling- logging every morsel that goes in your mouth to make you aware of what you are doing- they say that those who do, consume less calories, and lose more weight. This is my challenge, I have never been faithful about logging all of my food- well that changes effective today!!!

They say not to weigh or measure yourself while in this 21 days. That will be hard, since I have been weighing myself once a week for the past month. BUT I have put the scale away so that I won't be tempted. I want to give this my best foot forward!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hey there - Monday is my weigh in day. Not weighing has been a challenge, but I put the scale away and the urge decreased after a couple of days. Louisa (LLTS01) told me that by not weighing myself, I'd be making assessments about the success by my energy levels, how I feel etc.... which made a lot of sense to me and helped me stick with not weighing. I have to admit, I measured my waist after the first week and was happily surprised!

I'll be posting Monday or Tuesday with my results.

Good luck to you on the program. I can't wait to hear how you're doing with it! And I hope you feel better soon!
