DAY 76 EMOTIONAL SAFETY
HOW DO YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR EMOTIONAL SAFETY?? WHEN YOU FEEL UNSETTLED ANXIOUS AND INSECURE. YOU NEED A WAY TO REGROUP AGAIN.
EMOTIONAL SAFETY GIVES A SENSE OF WELL BEING "GROUNDED"AS WELL AS PROTECTED, STRONGER AND SECURE.
CRATING A SAFE PLACE
PONDER HOW YOU CAN CREATE AN EMOTIONALLY SAFE PLACE IN YOUR LIFE.........A CORNER A ROOM ETC, GATHER SOME OBJECTS THAT HELP YOU FEEL SECURE, POSTERS, CANDLES OR STUFFED ANIMALS. BRIGHTEN IT UP WITH FLOWERS AND PLANTS, ADD SOFT RELAXING MUSIC.

AS A PERSON OF FAITH I KNOW I CAM REST IN MY FAITH AND IN CHRIST WHO IS MY STRENGTH, HEART FIXER, MIND REGULATOR MY HIGH TOWER IN TIME OF TROUBLE. HE IS MY ALL AND ALL. HE BRINGS PEACE IN A TIME OF STORM. IF I EVER FEEL UNEASY I WILL REMIND MYSELF THAT I AM NOT ALONE.
I DON'T NECESSARILY HAVE A CORNER. EVERYWHERE I GO MY FAITH IS WITH ME AND I CAN ALWAYS PRAY. Object's CAN'T CARRY ME THUR BUT MY FAITH CAN.

AFTER A HARD DAYS WORK EASE INTO YOUR FAV CHAIR AND LISTEN TO YOU FAV CD OR MUSIC.
I GO ENJOY PRAISE MUSIC WHEN I NEED UPLIFTING. BUT THE MUSIC DOES NOT REPLACE MY BELIEF OR FAITH IT SPEAKS OF MY FAITH. I ENJOY A RELAXING SHOWER AND LOVE MY FAV BLANKET WHEN I AM SICK BUT IT DOES NOT REPLACE WHO HOLDS MY FAITH. I KNOW THE LORD HEALS NOW JUST LIKE HE DID 100'S OF YEARS AGO.
DAY 77 100 DAYS OF WEIGHT LOSS WITH LIND SPANGLE
THE HEALING POWER OF RITUALS
ANOTHER WAS TO BUILD EMOTIONALLY SAFETY IS TO INCLUDE RITUALS OR HABITS.
RITUALS ARE SPECIFIC PATTERNS OR ACTIVITIES THAT HELP TO RELAX OR RE-ENERGIZE. RITUALS CAN HELP YOU FEEL SAFE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE THOUGHT UP. THEY ARE CONSTANT.
HEALING RITUALS
THINK ABOUT HOW MANY OF THEN ARE SURROUNDED BY FOOD. REPLACE SOME WITH HEALTHIER PATTERNS IN STRESSFUL TIMES WHEN YOU WANT RELIEF OF STRESS, CALM DOWN AND HEAL YOUR EMOTIONAL NEEDS.
IF YOU REACH FOR THE CUPBOARD OR REFRIG AFTER A STRESSFUL DAY OF WORK ETC. MANAGE A BETTER WAY.
AFTER I GET MY YOUNGER SON OFF TO SCHOOL I ALWAYS HAVE A CUP(S) GREEN TEA WHILE READING MY BIBLE. IT IS WHERE MY STRENGTH COMES FROM. DURING THE SUMMER I'LL HAVE TO COME UP WITH WAYS TO DO THIS SUMMER. EITHER GET UP EARLIER ETC. I DO NOT CONSIDER THIS A RITUAL BUT IT IS A PART OF WHO I AM AND MY LIFE.

1. SIT QUIETLY --LISTEN TO FAV MUSIC.
2. READ A FEW PAGES FROM A SPECIAL BOOK LIKE THE BIBLE, NOVEL OR POETRY.
3. LIGHT CANDLES AND MEDITATE(MY CASE PRAY) FOR A WHILE BEFORE DINNER.
4. HAVE A CUP OF TEAM OR COFFEE ALONG WITH A HEALTHY SNACK.
5. Listen TO QUIET MUSIC AT NIGHT WHILE YOU DRIFT TO SLEEP OR WHEN YOU ARE TRAVELING TAKE YOUR FAV PHOTOS MY YOUR FAMILY AND PLACE THEM NEAR THE NIGHTSTAND. OR YOU COULD TAKE YOUR FAV BUBBLE BATH OR PACKET FAV TEA.
