I AM CURRENTLY IN THE BLC AND I AM REFLECTING. I HAVE NOT LOST MUCH WEIGHT. BUT I REALISE THAT THE SCALE DOES NOT DETERMINE MY SELF WORTH OR DEFINE ME. STILL I WOULD BE LYING IF I SAID I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. I TOO KNOW NEGATIVE SELF TALK CAN BACK FIRE ON YOU. NOT DOING THAT...JUST REFLECTING.

I AM REVIEWING DAY 51 OF 100 DAYS WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE AND PRINTED OFF WHAT I'VE BLOGGED ABOUT. I AM PUTTING THIS BLOG ON MY REFRID.

I HAVE ALSO REVISITED DAY 54 OF 100 DAYS OF WEIGHT LOSS AND PRINTED IT OFF --REVIEWING....AND THE BLOG SPEAKING ABOUT STRESS I HVAE PRINTED OFF AND WILL ADD IT TO MY EXERCISE/FOOD JOURNAL.

DAY 67 NEVER SAY I BLEW IT"

I'VE ALREADY BLEW IT SO I MIGHT AS WELL EAT MORE!!!!!!!!

THE PHRASE I BLEW IT REINFORCES THE SENSE OF DISAPPOINTMENT AND FAILURE. YOU ALSO GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO FOLLOW UP A SLIP WITH HUGH BINGE EATING.

WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE BLOWN IT YOU CAN PUNISH YOURSELF MORE BY EATING MORE.

THROW I'VE BLOWN IT OUT OF THE WINDOW AND BE KINDER TO YOURSELF. TRASH THE TOLD WAY OF THINKING. COME UP WITH A NEUTRAL WAY OF DESCRIBING YOUR SLIP AND FIGURE TOUT THAT HAPPENED TO CAUSE YOU TO SLIP.

MAYBE SAY TO YOURSELF I SLIPPED UP BUT I CAN BEGIN AT MY NEXT MEAL.


DAY 68 I HAD A PAUSE


ANOTHER POSITIVE WAY TO SAY I HAD A SLIP. THIS PHRASE IS LESS DAMAGING AND LESS JUDGEMENTAL. YOU CAN THEN ASSES HOW YOU HAD A PAUSE AND REST AND RECOUP. YOU CAN SAY I HAD A BRIEF PAUSE NOT I AM BACK ON TRACK. DO NOT DWELL ON THE PAUSE LEARN FROM IT AND LET IT GO ERASE IT. GET ON WITH LIFE.


DAY 69 NO CHEATING ALLOWED.

YOU PUT YOUR DIET IN CHARGE WHEN YOU USE THE WORD CHEAT. THIS PHRASE MAKES YOU POWERLESS. YOU CAN'T CHEAT WITH FOOD. THE WORD CHEAT REFERS TO SOMETHING ILLEGAL OR IMMORAL. FOOD IS NEITHER. YOU DO NOT HAVE A CHARACTER DEFEAT JUST BECAUSE YOU HAD A COOKIE. DO NOT USE THE WORD CHEAT WHEN REFERRING TO YOUR DIET OR EATING PLAN. SOMETIMES THE CHOICES ARE GOOD AND SOMETIMES THE CHOICES ARE LOUSY. THE OUT COME IS WHETHER YOU LOSE WEIGHT OR NOT.

ADMIT YOU HAD A COOKIE. DON'T EXCUSE YOUR BEHAVIOR BY LACK OF WILL POWER, OR DISCIPLINE. YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR OWN CHOICES. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DECISION MADE ABOUT FOOD. WHEN TALKING ABOUT THE DECISION MADE AROUND FOOD DESCRIBE THEM IN WAYS THAT ARE POSITIVE, EMPOWERING AND POWERFUL.

SETTING LIMITS OVER SOME FOOD ITEMS CAN GIVE YOU POWER OVER TEMPTATION.

SOMETIMES YOU MAY HAVE TO TAKE A STEP EVEN FURTHER TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM GETTING HOOKED BY THE TASTE OF CERTAIN FOOD, SWEETS, DESSERTS AND SNACK FOODS ARE IN THE CATEGORY.

CAN I HEAR A AMEN?? emoticon

IF YOU AVOID TAKING THE FIRST BITE, YOU ESCAPE THE TRIGGER THAT WEAKENS YOUR RESOLVE.

HOW CAN YOU DO THIS WHEN THE TEMPTING FOOD IS CALLING YOU?? WORK ON CREATING AN STRONG SELF TALK PLAN. DECIDE YOU WILL NOT EVEN TAKE A BITE OF THE TEMPTING FOOD TO STRENGTHEN YOUR RESISTANCE. SELF TALK MESSAGES SUGGESTED BY LINDA THE AUTHOR OF THIS BOOK: DON'T EVEN GO THERE! STAY ON TOP OF YOUR PLAN, HOLD YOU GOALS HIGH, AND LIVE ABOVE THE CROWD. WHEN YOU ARE TEMPTED YOU CAN USE THESE PHRASES.

WHEN YOU HAVE FOOD TEMPTATION YOU DECIDE WHETHER TO EAT OR NOT. SOMETIMES YOU CAN HAVE A SPLIT SECOND TO DECIDE. BY SAYING "NO FAST" YOU WILL BE MORE LIKELY TO AVOID GIVING IN.

DON'T KEEP STARING AT THE BROWNIE YOU WILL WEAKEN YOUR ABILITY TO RESIST IT. INSTEAD MAKE A FIRM DECISION TO SKIP IT AN FOCUS ON YOUR RESOLVE ---FOOD LOSES ITS POWER.

STIMULUS NARROWING ELIMINATES CHANGING YOUR MIND. AS YOU GO THUR THE DAY WHEN FACED WITH A TEMPTING FOOD DECIDE YOU WILL NOT EAT IT, AND STICK TO YOUR DECISION. SAY "NO AND MEAN IT"!! DON'T LET YOUR THOUGHTS BE ABOUT THE FOOD IT WILL WEAKEN YOUR RESOLVE.

WHEN TEMPTED WITH A CERTAIN FOOD SAY " I WON'T EAT IT"! THEN LEAVE THE SITUATION AND DON'T PLAY IN YOUR MIND ABOUT THE FOOD.

AS YOU GAIN STRENGTH AGAINST UN-PLANNED EATING THE BATTLE WITH IN YOUR MIND CONCERNING WHETHER TO EAT OR NOT WILL DECREASE.

  emoticon you know Gracie, i have read and read and read this lesson, and it finally snapped... when we play in our mind with it... it's like playing with fire, dabbling in the occult, allowing temptations to do the devils work... leading us away and into sin... WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MANAGE YOUR FOOD TRIGGERS, IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO USE BUFFERS THAT WILL PROTECT YOU FROM SLIPPING INTO EATING.

PUT DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR HIGH RISK PROBLEM FOODS.

DON'T TEMPT YOURSELF. IF CHIPS, COOKIES AND CANDIES TEMPT YOU THEN DON'T STOCK THEM IN YOUR HOUSE OR WORK SETTING.

STOP TRIGGERS BEFORE THEY START.

IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE CLEAN SWEEP YOUR TRIGGER FOODS OUT!! GET RID OF WHAT PUTS YOU AT RISK FOR GIVING IN AND OVER EATING. FOR TIMES YOUR KIDS OR FAMILY WANT TO EAT A TEMPTING SNACK HAVE THEM EAT THOSE FOOD OUT OF YOUR SIGHT(DONE THIS) IT WORKS. IF THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE TEMPTING FOOD. I HAVE EVEN REQUESTED THAT THE TEMPTING FOOD BE PUT INTO THE TRUCK OF MY HUBBIE CAR. HEY YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO. HE REQUESTED THAT HIS DJ SUPPORTERS BAKE HIM SOME CAKES FOR HIS BIRTHDAY WHICH IS DECEMBER 25 AND THEY DELIVERED. 3 CAKES IN THE HOUSE. I ASKED IF HE WOULD GIVE SOME AWAY OR TAKE SOME TO WORK. THIS HAPPENED A COUPLE YEARS AGO.

WHAT ARE MY TRIGGERS FOODS?? FRIED CHICKEN IT WAS MINE... BUT I HAVE LEARNED TO LOVE ROASTED CHICKEN OR UNFRIED CHICKEN A RECIPE BY PAULA DEANS SON. I JUST STOPPED EATING ALL FRIED FOODS WHEN MY HEALTH BECAME AT RISK. SOME THINGS---- I HAVE TO OVER COME OCCASIONAL CHIPS, COOKIES. I HAVE COME UP WITH A TRICK FOR PIZZA. WHICH IS ATE EVERY SATURDAY BY THE FAMILY. I HAVE FOUND THAT HUNGRY GIRL HAS SOME GREAT SUBSTITUTES FOR SOME OF MY FAVS. HAVE HEALTHIER VERSIONS OF SNACK FOODS IF YOU CAN EAT THEM IN MODERATION. FOR ME I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT SNACKS THAT COME PRE-PACKAGED ARE A BIG HELP TO ME.


DAY 64 INSTANT TOOL FOR TRIGGERS.

YOU HAVE HAD A BAD DAY YOU ARE EATING CONTINUOUSLY AND CAN NOT SEEM TO STOP. UGH WE ALL BEEN THERE. emoticon emoticon

YOU NEED A FAST SOLUTION FOR THIS TRIGGER SO YOU CAN WALK AWAY FROM IT. STOP THINKING YOU CAN'T RESIST FOOD TEMPTATIONS!! emoticon

ONE TECHNIQUE IS TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH.

THE TASTE OF NUTS AND CANDY AND TEXTURE CAN MAKE IT KIND OF ADDICTIVE. IT DOESN'T MATTER THE KIND OF FOOD YOU EAT BRUSHING YOUR TEETH CAN CHANGE THE FLAVORS IN YOUR MOUTH. THIS HELPS WITH TASTES TRIGGERS. IF YOU CAN NOT BRUSH YOUR TEETH USE THE OPPOSITE FLAVORS OF WHAT TRIGGERS YOU---SWEET OR SALTY TRY SUCKING A LEMON WEDGE OR EAT A DILL PICKLE. FOR SPICY OR GARLICKY TRIGGER FOODS ---LIKE SALSA TRY MINT GUM. TIC TACS ARE MY FAV FOR THIS. BUBBLE GUM FOR THIS TRIGGER. I DO NOT LIKE MINT GUM.

RUN WHEN NECESSARY CREATE AN ESCAPE PLAN THAT WORKS WHEN OVERLY TEMPTED. LEARN TO SAY NO TO FAMILY, FRIENDS WHO PUSH FOOD ON YOU!! HUBBIE IS THE SABOTEUR FOR ME. NO THANKS I'LL HAVE IT LATER GOES INTO PLAY, OR I'LL HAVE IT ANOTHER TIME. emoticon

MONITOR YOURSELF DURING WEAK TIMES WITH TRIGGER FOODS RUN, WALK , LEAVE THE ROOM, OR GO TO BED IF NECESSARY. I'VE TRIED ALL THESE AND THEY WORK. STILL I AM A WORK IN PROGRESS. emoticon emoticon emoticon
