UPDATE ON MY OWN CHALLENGE...

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

CONTINUE MY FITNESS WORKOUT I STARTED THE END OF AUGUST. GOAL OF 500-1000 FITNESS MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER. GOING ONWARD WITH THIS. I AM SEARCHING FOR A NEWBIES STRENGTHENING TEAM. I AM READING UP ON BODY SCULPTING. AND MAKING OM OWN FUTURE WORKOUTS. BY NO MEANS AM I ENTERING ANY COMPETION. I RAN ACROSS A FELLOW SPARK WHO SUGGESTED READING SCULPLING HER BODY PERFECT. LOL NO I DO NOT EXPECT PERFECTION. JUST A TIPS.

POUNDS I'D LIKE TO LOSE 2-5 POUNDS. I AM A WORK IN PROGRESS. PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION. STILL WORKING TOWARD. WAS DOWN LAST TWO POUNDS WE WILL SEE......THIS WEEK.

I'D LOVE TRYING REBOUNDING..STILL IN THE WORKS TAX TIME...

EMOTIONAL EATING HAS NOT BEEN WORKING FOR A LONG TIME....DUHHH! SO I HAVE TO CONCENTRATE ON USING BY BECK DISTRACTION TECHNIQUES. I HAVE THEM IN PLACE AND POSTED. NOW I HAVE TO USE THEM. STARTING THE FALL MONTHS I CAN START BACK SOME OF MY CROCHET PROJECTS. (IT HAS BEEN TOO HOT TO DO THEM)). JOURNAL MORE. USE MY DEVOTIONAL TIME. DON'T FORGET TO KEEP MY PAMPER APPOINTMENTS WITH MYSELF. AS A MOM I SLIP ON CARING FOR ME....NO DOING THAT ANY. I RAN ACROSS NEGATIVE THINKING INFO HERE ON SPARK. WE ALL HAVE THOUGHTS THAT COME OUR WAY...OUT OF NO WHERE. A CHRISTAIN GURU CALL THEM STINKING THINKING. WORKING ON THAT AND IT MAY TAKE A LIFETIME TO OVER COME. CHRIST IS MY STRENGTH WITH THIS. I CAN NOT DO THIS ALONE.

EATING COULD ALWAYS BE IMPROVED. THE INFO GIRL I AM I HAVE COME ACROSS SOME SUGGESTED FOODS TO TRY WITH MY MEALS FOR SUCCESS. GOING FORWARD.

It is so refreshing to see someone speak so much about their faith. I too am a Christian and leaning on the Lord to carry me through this life the way He wants me to. I am nothing without Him.

I see you crochet also. And I too wait for cooler weather to crochet because I am so hot natured. I can't stand for the yarn to lay across my arms in the hot weather. Sometimes I think I am allergic to some of the dyes in the yarn, because sometimes my arms break out in a rash.

Anyway, keep on keeping on and I will do the same. God bless. I am adding you as a friend. emoticon

Grace, I struggle in these same areas, and have to remind myself darn near daily to actually rebuke the negative thought and replace it with the positve thought, which is actually usually the truth, too ;)

btw, it's nice to see friends, like you, who remain here trying. so many come & go too soon... it encourages me not to quit...

SKINNY PUMPKINS CHALLENGES WK2?

Monday, September 13, 2010

Last week, I am proud to report that I accomplished:

Cardio: My goal of fives day of cardio.

Strength: 2 or 3 days of strengthening YEP I did not like it but I did it and I will continue to perform it. And not listen to the voice of no weights.

Flexibility: This week I started back doing yoga...I performed 30 of Biggest Loser Weigh Loss Yoga with Bob. PLEASE NOTE this is NOT your usual yoga...you actually work up a a sweat with this work out. Felt good to know that I can perform it without feeling as if I would pass out.

Rest: My rest day was Sunday ((my optional exercise)) will be determined if I felt I dropped a day and need to make up. Other than that I rest this day and plan for Monday.

Total Fitness Minutes: My burn cals are 1330 for the week and I exceeded I did 1461.

Other goal/mileage/etc: A work in progress does not mean perfection. I need to continue to work on my emotional eating and have come to some light bulb moments for which I jotted down in my personal journal.

This week, I am going to:

Something I am good at that has nothing to do with exercise is: Be positive no matter and I will not let a scale define who or what I am. My self worth does not stop at a scale.

Something that I LOVE doing, that has nothing to do with exercise is: My daily devotions keeps me focused and on track.

I am going to incorporate these two things into my healthy week by: For now I will stay with the goals I have in place strength training for 2 - 3 day a week, cardio 5 days a week work on my self care and emotional eating along. This week work on my beck book and incorprate the teachings in her book start on day 21. Small and simple is how I approach things.

I'm going to adapt my workouts by: Listening to my own body and not compare myself to anyones workout etc. We all are at different stages of weight loss etc.

I am determined to give my best this week because: I am worth it and others are watching me in our neighborhood family/friends. Dr that I have to see in January. LOL

My power song will be: Don't have one but Kirk Franklin and Hezejiah Walker and Ty Trubute along with other gospel artist are motivating to me. If I want to mellow out then it is Donnie McKlurlin praise and worship. My faith is a BIG pat of my life.

I won't forget: I am a woman on a mission and a mighty warrior thur Christ

You can motivate me by: prayers and some atta girls, etc.

Good for you! Beck's principles are sound, sensible, and very approachable - I'm excited that you're putting them in motion for yourself :) Behavior change never comes easy, it seems, but with practice, you'll hard-wire your new distractions into the fabric of your day-to-day life. I wish you much success! - Sandi emoticon

I like Beck, she offers ideas for consistency, and I have not found anything better for dealing with the ups/downs of EE.... (especially when going through grief.... i'm ready to put aside the ice cream again. it was a bit of a rough summer, eh? Thinking Fall will be better for both of us ;)

I admit that I most of the time don't get 7 or 6 hours of sleep. I've been a night owl since I was little.....I suffered from asthma and most of my attacks came at night. So after 35 years of suffering..devine intervention rescued me and I have an awesome dr and my main great physicine Christ my asthma is well controlled now. So now life and kids sometimes 7 or 8 hours of sleep is s distant memory. Here go to get help. Now my sons bus come 6:30 5 days a week. We have to get up 5:30. Dr did mention I needed 7 hours of sleep so I am a work in progress.

You are a work in progress. We all are. You have to teach yourself how to sleep longer, just like you're teaching yourself eating better and physical activity. Because you need sleep. You absolutely do. If you have to turn in earlier to get that 7 hours of sleep, then go to bed earlier. One thing I've learned is that *You have to sleep... or everything gets worse.* That's actually the main reason I workout in the evenings so I'm tired by the time I'm ready to get to bed. Here are some tips I learned from my doctor...

1- Don't eat within 1.5-2 hours before going to bed
2- Chamomile or lavendar tea before bed is good for relaxation
3- Turn lights low about an hour before bed (sets brain mood for sleep)
4- Turn TV/radio on low volume about an hour before bed (allows brain to decompress with less noise)
5- Stretch before bed

And I also like to pray and bible study before bed too.

Hope it helps! Although I'm sure with kiddies, that's not even half the battle... (lol) Here's to restful sleep though.
