FUNNY that happened to me ...looking back I still laugh...

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

This happened a few years ago. My hubbie caught a spider and ran me with it. (Yep I am not fond of little creatures) I fell on my knee and skinned them. I locked myself in the bathroom knees bleeding. Even though I was bleeding I would not open the door..he told me he threw it away. I told him if he threw that thing on me I would knock him out((not really do it)) but I was scare. I opened the bathroom door. He pick me up and placed band-aids on my knees and of courses gave me some kisses. He has not ran me with any more spiders or any other creepy little creatures again, When I thought back I laughed but at the time it was not funny.

I know of something else gross but I will not go there. LOL!

Spiders are not on my list of likable things! I don't blame you for running but at least he made it up to you!

I don't like spiders either. And my hubby had better know better than to do that to me.

LOL My grandson comes upstairs to my apt to take a shower because he saw a spider in his shower! This happened about 4 months ago and he still comes here to shower. Or he will wash up at the sink. LOL.
I am glad you can look back and laugh. And I know Hubby never did that again!

Come on! Share the gross stuff! LOL

My Older son is the same way when it comes to spiders. So he calls my younger son who is 8 years younger to come and get them and put them outside. So a 16 year old runs away from them screaming and call his 8 year old brother to come and get spiders. LOL.

Does eating healthy cost more? IN MY VIEW!!!

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

It does cost more to eat healthy. That depends if your kids are still at home or not. Mine are. So it does cost more. those 3 boys can eat the bark off the trees. Yes it will pay off in the end to right with better health. Meats, Veggies, fruits and bread are costly. Please do not mention anything organic!! Does it pay off to eat healthier. YES. we survive buy buying some off brand canned foods, buy in bulk WHEN WE CAN, try and catch sales for frozen veggies and fruits and going to our local discounts stores. My son found a food dehydrater brand new. I've already mentioned that my hubbie promised to till the ground for a garden. I am gonna hold him to it. If he does not do it I will. Fresh veggies taste so much better fresh from the garden. Just saw on the news where Florida veggies and fruits have some frost damage. I know what that means at the groceries stores.

You're so right-it does cost more. I usually buy frozen(tastes better than canned, in my opinion)that way I can use I need and the rest keeps forever.

My daughter is 8 and she goes through through these spurts-for a couple days she'll eat EVERYTHING(including the bark off trees-I liked that one, by the way emoticon)and then she has days where she won't eat much of ANYTHING!

A few years ago we had a garden. We grew everything and it was wonderful! LOTS of work, tho-weeding and spacing, etc. A tip-don't plant watermelon & cukes too close to each other. The roots wind around each other and some of our cukes had a vague watermelon flavor. That's when our nursery person told us that hint. They should be at least 2 rows away from each other.

(The weekend is here - same routine or

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Well some of the time my defenses are down around food on the weekend. Without a plan the people perish. Same for eating without a plan. Working on it... I am extremely busy during the week. Said it once but I'll say it again I have 3 boys. My aunt said before I even had my first baby that "boys would keep you busy" she was right. Having a special needs sweet heart keep me on my toes and knees ((praying for strength)). I always give myself a pedicure and facial. Rest more. So some of the times is whatever goes. I HAVE INCORPORATED NO ONE TO WAKE ME UP UNTIL 9:00 AM on saturdays. Some times it and then theirs the other times. Sunday is worship/rest/recoup day. I usually put exercise aside on Sunday....unless I am a challenge then I'll do light exercise.

I probably need to have a more constructed routine for my eating on the weekends. Well going forward.

Whoa! It must be the pesonality! My 2 boys never kept me as busy as my 11 year old GD does when I babysit my GKS in the summer. She like lots of one on one time.

I love to sleep in to 9am on the weekends. Now that I am laid off, I found myself sleeping later on the weekdays but I changed that! Don't want to get lazy you know.
My food intake gets a little out of control on the weekends too. I have to get a better handle on it. Now I think I see what you mean about some kind of meal plan to keep you on track. Maybe I will do a weekend meal plan. I will let you know.
Praying for strength for you , my friend

Trust me, it's not just boys who keep you busy. I grew up with 4 sisters .... they can be just as wild! Take me, for example! LOL
9 am?!?! WOW! It's all I can do to stay in the bed until 7:23 (yep, exactly, both yesterday and today) so I'm ENVIOUS of your sleeping in! And I don't have kids to wake me up! Jim thinks someone's alarm may be going off at that time or something.

It's the weekend, so Friday evening, what do you TYPICALLY do - party hardy or stay at home?

Friday, January 08, 2010

I am a SAHM mom so my week is very busy. I clean earlier in the evening. Prepare for the weekend. Fridays are spent with my family. Hubbie sleeps after work. I watch Friday night Smack down with my little boy he is twelve and special needs. We play/tickle and watch wrestling. He loves this time and so do I. Fridays are spend at home. I do not drink/party keeping this temple fit as I can with Gods help. The only partying I do is in the spirit with God. Now to me partying with God is a celebration. He is good and his mercy is endless.

Sounds like my night last night. I thought it would be a quiet evening at home but much to my surprise the family had something else in mind. LOL My daughter & grandson showed up, my youngest was playing all over the house with him. Then my oldest son showed up with his good friend, then my son-in-law showed up after work. So I was busy entertaining & keeping soda cups filled. Friday was a blessed time spent with my family! Partying is not an option for me cause it simply never was. I never saw what other people saw, hey maybe its me. So quiet time spent alone or with loved ones is definitely the ticket for me!

Blessings & Happy Saturday!

You are such a good Mom!
I spend my Friday at the Food Ministry at the Manna Station feeding both the bodies and the spirits of those who come. And on Saturday I work with the Read Aloud Clinic to help kids and adults to learn to read.
I also spend a lot of time with the grands and the family.

I am so glad that God got me out of the hanging out and partying and Showed me that doing good with my time is a blessing to myself and those who I help.

Sounds like you have a busy life. Good for you taking special time with your son. I am very blessed, my daughter is 16 and proudly tells people that I am her mom and her very best friend... I feel warm inside out when she does that. We have always spent time together. I am also a home body and my favorite thing to do is to spend time with God and my family...have a wonderful weekend. A REVERSE NEW YEAR RESOLUTION

Friday, January 08, 2010

Reverse New Year's Resolutions

Yes, it sounds rather silly and perhaps impossible. But for
the moment, letís assume youíve reached your goal weight,
conquered your emotional eating habits, and built a strong
fitness level.

Mentally fast-forward to one year from now. Picture in detail
how you want to look, feel and live, now that youíve met the
goals you want to achieve. Next, I want you to write these
things down as if theyíve already happened. You can be
realistic as you create your list, but donít be afraid to
dream big. Taken from Linda Spangle 100 days of weight loss.

It is September 12, 2010

I now weight 150 WOW!

I am please with energy level and the way I look and feel in clothes now.

My body feel more healthy, and my muscles are toned, and instead of my a1c being 6.1 it is 5.0 wow I am amazed and my blood pressure is within normal range.

I'm exercising by doing aerobics for 40 mins 5 days a week, and my strength training is 25 min a session 3 times a week.

I've learned that I do not have to let my emotions be my guide as how I eat, I do not have to eat when stressed. I can take a 10 minute breather, go for a walk, and sip some tea. I have learned to nourish my body with food.

I jumped the gun but this is my hope and dream. It will be done.

Linda advised for me to share and I have. emoticonWHAT? do not start with me!! I will do this!!!
