Out to lunch!

Monday, March 03, 2008

me and hd went out to lunch this afternoon. I read my Beck Book last night.

A few rules.

1. Take small bites and chew slowly.
2. Finish chewing and swallowing each bite before you put more food on your fork.
3. Put your utensils down before you pick them up again.

4. Take a sip of water every minutes or two.

At first I thought that this was crazy and I would not have time to eat slowly
but it worked. I feel good about this. I copied down on a card these rules and took them with me. I felt fuller. But my hd had about two plates of food along with two desserts when I was just finishing my salad with protein. Thank to all my friend on the prayers warriors and other teams. Most of all I give praise to God.

My Weakness but Gods Strength

Sunday, March 02, 2008

MY HD CAME FROM THE RADIO STATION THIS AFTERNOON WITH AN APPLE PIE.

OF COURSE I COMPLAINED. NOT ONLY AM I TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT BUT I AM DIABETIC. HE JUST DOESN'T UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT IS TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT.

SOMETIMES I DON'T THINK HE EVER THINKS. HIS FIRST RESPONSE IS ALWAYS "YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION. MY RESPONSE WAS TO GIVE AN EXAMPLE WHICH I DID. I SAID " WHAT IF I PUT ON A BIKINI AND WALKED AROUND EVERYWHERE WITH IT ON, "AND GOT UPSET BECAUSE I GOT WHISTLED AT". IF I TEMPTED ANYONE THAT WOULD BE ON MY NOSE NOT THEIRS.

MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS TO BUY MINI DESSERT DISHES TO MAKE MINI PIES AND I HAD MY RECIPE READY. THE PIE MAY BE ON THE HIGH CARBS END, AND I AM NOT GIVING UP SUNDAY DINNER FOR A PIECE OF PIE.

I AM GREATER THAN PIE, BECAUSE GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN ME THEN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD. I AM A MIGHTY WARRIOR OF GOD THUR CHRIST. I
AM AN OVER COMER, BECK CARDS ARE NOT ALWAYS NEAR, BUT GOD IS ALWAYS THERE. MAY I NEVER FORGET TO ASK FOR HIS HELP. I AM WEAK, BUT HE IS ALL POWERFUL.

I DIDN'T GET ANY PIE INSTEAD I GOT SOME MIXED FRUIT AND PUT YOGURT OVER THE FRUIT IN A PRETTY PARFAIT GLASS.

MY PRAYER IS I LEAN MORE ON CHRIST EVERYDAY.

Hey Do, you did a lot better than I did for dinner. A friend and myself went out to dinner. I had chili soup, rib steak, baked potato and a hugh salad which I brought half home. I also brought half the steak an potato home. Well, now that I write it down it doesn't sound too bad. Hee-hee. Now should I say, thank you, Lord.

Oh WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, February 29, 2008

Well in short I have to move the scale yet once again. SCREAM!!!!!! I am determined to lose this wieght. I move the scale to keep myself accountable. I have to use the Beck Repsonse Cards more. I ask myself why is it taking so long to lose this weigh. The problem isn't the scale but my mouth and what I shove in it. This weight has to go. Once again I will go forward and try my best not to look back on my slumbles. Here is to being honest. Emotional eating isn't easily conqured but I am NOT a quitter.
http://oh well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, You are doing great! You can never ifail if you never give up. Maybe you are exchanging fat for muscle. Do your clothes fit better? Do you feel better? I can tell I am getting stronger because I can exercise longer than I could a few days before. Remember the scle is not the only way to measure progress.

I understand and hear your frustration. Sadly, it isn't your poor scale. But, remember. there are other ways to measuring your losses besides the scale. Look for something positive!

Some info to encpurge me to keep drinking green tea!

t
7 Reasons to Drink Green Tea

Posted Wed, Feb 20, 2008, 10:30 am PST

The steady stream of good news about green tea is getting so hard to ignore that even java junkies are beginning to sip mugs of the deceptively delicate brew. You'd think the daily dose of disease-fighting, inflammation-squelching antioxidants--long linked with heart protection--would be enough incentive, but wait, there's more! Lots more.

CUT YOUR CANCER RISK
Several polyphenols - the potent antioxidants green tea's famous for - seem to help keep cancer cells from gaining a foothold in the body, by discouraging their growth and then squelching the creation of new blood vessels that tumors need to thrive. Study after study has found that people who regularly drink green tea reduce their risk of breast, stomach, esophagus, colon, and/or prostate cancer.

SOOTHE YOUR SKIN
Got a cut, scrape, or bite, and a little leftover green tea? Soak a cotton pad in it. The tea is a natural antiseptic that relieves itching and swelling. Try it on inflamed breakouts and blemishes, sunburns, even puffy eyelids. And that's not all. In the lab, green tea helps block sun-triggered skin cancer, whether you drink it or apply it directly to the skin - which is why you're seeing green tea in more and more sunscreens and moisturizers.

STEADY YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE
Having healthy blood pressure - meaning below 120/80 - is one thing. Keeping it that way is quite another. But people who sip just half a cup a day are almost 50 percent less likely to wind up with hypertension than non-drinkers. Credit goes to the polyphenols again (especially one known as ECGC). They help keep blood vessels from contracting and raising blood pressure.

PROTECT YOUR MEMORY, OR YOUR MOM'S
Green tea may also keep the brain from turning fuzzy. Getting-up-there adults who drink at least two cups a day are half as likely to develop cognitive problems as those who drink less. Why? It appears that the tea's big dose of antioxidants fights the free-radical damage to brain nerves seen in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

STAY YOUNG
The younger and healthier your arteries are, the younger and healthier you are. So fight plaque build-up in your blood vessels, which ups the risk of heart disease and stroke, adds years to your biological age (or RealAge), and saps your energy too. How much green tea does this vital job take? About 10 ounces a day, which also deters your body from absorbing artery-clogging fat and cholesterol.

LOSE WEIGHT
Oh yeah, one more thing. Turns out that green tea speeds up your body's calorie-burning process. In the every-little-bit-counts department, this is good news!

DO, Green tea has a lot of good qualities, but be careful. My step-Grandmother started drinking it. The doctors believe it could possibly be the cause for her heart jumping rethum (? spelling). They have stopped her heart twice to get it back in rythum (? spelling). So scary. She was drinking up to 3 cups a day.

Second beginnings

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Well I started not to even post anything today. My cal in take wasn't so great yesterday.

Today is a new day and no I am not excusing my self or am I going to drag around because went over either. Attitude is everything.

There is a song by Marvin Sapp that says Praise will confuse the enemy. It is true. I will still bless the Lord at all times and he praise will continually be on lips. He has brought me a long way. Marvin Sapp is a gospel songress and he is annointed, he sings worship and praise music which is my favorite. I like some traditional quartet music like Tommy Ellison and others. I am from the old school!!

Not posting is counterproductive. This new me is a daily work in process. Yesterday I finally had the strength to exercise 18 min of aerobics with weights. That may seem small in others eyes. If you only knew my story......... God is good. I have just recovered from a stubborn cold . Instead of saying something further negative about yesterdays eating, I did have 33 grams of fiber. I am proud that I did get to exercise for 18 min it is better than nothing.

I give God praise for the little things in life.
