I was doing my best to exercise and lose weight, walking that treadmill every day. Because I have osteoporosis I was holding on to that treadmill like it would buck me off. Small mistake! Next thing I know my shoulder and sterum was hurting and being a stupid RN I thought my gall bladder was acting up, so scheduled an ultrasound. Small mistake! We got a sleet and snow storm and I could not get there so rescheduled later in the day and we finally made it. Wasted trip and cost, because my gall bladder was fine. Still hurting like crazy so scheduled for the family doctor and found out it was bursitis of that shoulder from holding on like crazy to that treadmill. That meant three days of physical therapy (50 miles round trip driving), and the driving made the shoulder hurt even worse. Also had to take muscle relaxer's which made me not care if I ate too much, so I gained a couple of pounds, which meant I have to walk more to get rid of that. The moral of this story is doing all things in moderation or you might not like the outcome, and that includes holding on to the bars on the treadmill.
