I find it amusing how when I get invited to a party, the first thought in my mind is "Oh no... a party!" This obviously has everything to do with the snacks, bad food, and drinks that are provided at such parties. However, just because I am working on losing weight, it doesn't mean that I need to be a hermit and run away from such activities. I just need to use these parties as practice for my self control.
Today, my husband and I texted our big group of high school friends to invite them out to our house tonight. We've been meaning to get everyone together, and tonight is just as good as any other! We're expecting somewhere between 8-20 people to show up. Hopefully no more than 20!
We told everyone to come sometime around 8:00 p.m. That gives us enough time to do a couple chores, eat dinner, go to the store for snacks, and go to the bar for a 6 pack of MGD 64. If I'm going to be tempted to drink, I might as well get the light calorie beer! I'm thinking that we will have to go to the beer distributor for a case of beer as well. I have no idea if people will bring their own beer or not and I didn't want to specify. Better to be safe than sorry, we will just get some!
Tomorrow, I'm going shopping with my mom and sister for my sisters school clothes. Afterwards, we're going to my husband's cousin's baby's 2 year birthday party. Try and say that 10 times fast! Haha. This Sunday, I believe we are free *gasp* but we make up for it on Monday evening, when we are going in to the city for a late dinner with some of my best friends and their boyfriends. We're busy busy all of the time, but it helps to pass the time until our CRUISE in September!! Woohoo!!

This morning, like most mornings, I woke up a couple of minutes before my alarm went off. I think that I must dislike the sound of my alarm so much that my body uses its internal clock to wake me up before the alarm even has a chance to go off!
When I woke up, I went downstairs and weighed myself. I didn't weigh myself yesterday, and I have been doing really good with staying within my calories these past few days, so I was interested in seeing if the scale noticed my efforts. Apparently it was very pleased with my efforts because I am lighter than I was on Monday, which was very motivating! It was so motivating that I decided to squeeze in 20 minutes of Wii Fit in to my morning routine. I burned 122 calories in 20 minutes. It felt good! It's funny how one good thing can lead to another good thing; I've been making healthy choices all day long!
For breakfast, I had a smoothie. It's lunch time right now, and I am trying to hold off as long as I can to eat my lean cuisine, cheez its, and fruit snacks that I brought today. I tend to get the mid afternoon munchies, so the longer that I wait to eat lunch, the better chance I have at making it through the afternoon! I might just end up eating my lean cuisine at 1:00 p.m. save my fruit snacks for 2:00 p.m. and then eat the cheez its at 3:00 p.m.!
I will eat dinner sometime between 6:00-7:00. For dinner tonight, I am making one pan italian pasta! It makes a big batch so there will be leftovers for my husband for lunch. This dish is one of our favorites. I got this recipe from kraft.com. Here's the link to the recipe: www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/one-pan
My plan for tonight is to get some mid-week laundry done and fit in some more exercise; whether that be via the Wii Fit, a walk with the dog and DH, or the gym. I think that I do better with fitting in my exercise when I don't limit myself to the type of exercise planned. For instance, when I give myself different options of how I can incorporate exercise in to my day, I almost always fit my exercise in! My mind likes choices, so why not give it some! Exercise doesn't need to be the same old gym, or the same old wii fit game. Exercise is something that I will be doing for the rest of my life! Options keeps things fresh! I suggest doing it youself, if you start to find the same old gym routine is getting old! Switch it up! Give yourself choices!
That's all for now... keep it fresh, sparkers!

"Balance. The Ultimate Goal." ~ Ricky Lankford
"Take the attitude of a student, never be too big to ask questions, never know too much to learn something new." ~Og Mandino
"Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later." ~Og Mandino
Each of those quotes spoke to me in a different aspect of my life today. I share these with you, as they may inspire or touch one of you as well.
I don't have much time to blog, as it's about time to leave work and go home for the day. I wanted to blog about a dirty little habit that has been with me for many years, but one that I have not caught before today.
I found this dirty habit today while I was thinking about dinner and how excited I was about having steak tonight. I got to thinking that I shouldn't get emotional about food. For example, I shouldn't get excited to eat something. I should treat food more like an energy source. I'm going to work on this, and try to monitor my emotions with food a little more now that I've realize what I have been doing. It was a dirty little habit that I just caught and booked. This little dirty habit is off to the big house! No more emotional eating! (If only it were that simple, right?)
Eat for life today sparkers; don't live to eat!
