Halloween Weekend

Friday, October 30, 2009

Halloween weekend is looking pretty scary to me!

Plan for today:

12:00 - Pay Rent & Parking - Eat Lunch
1:00 - Work until 4:30
4:30 - Drive to Chiropractor Appt.
5:00 - Chiropractor Appt.
5:30 - Drive home
6:00 - Eat Dinner
6:30 - Clean up
7:00 - Leave for Haunted House

After going to a haunted house with some friends, I think we are going to go to see a live band and then there is a party after that. I don't really feel like staying up too late tonight, so we may just go home after the Haunted House and start working on our Halloween costumes for tomorrow. Tomorrow's day looks like this:

4:30 - Leave for Medieval Feast
9:00 - Halloween Party with in-laws
10:00 - Bar hopping with in-laws

Tomorrow morning I have a ton of stuff that needs done around the house. We are going to a Medieval Feast at 5:00, which I hear is suppose to be fun. Followed by a party and bar hopping with my husbands family and friends.

Sunday, we have my step-moms birthday party to go to. I kind of feel like we are always expected to stay at my dads house all day long when there is an event, but its going to be my only day to really relax before working all week long again, so hopefully we won't be there too long!

Now, if you were to ask me what I wanted to do this weekend, I would respond with a day off from everything! I really don't feel like partying whenever I have so much going on in my life. I have a house to take care of while we look for one to buy, a job that is taking up all of my time, and my weight to deal with. I would really love a day off from obligations!

Maybe you can't get a whole day off this week, but do try and schedule both some "me" time and some "house" time.

Maybe you can schedule a whole day off one day next month!

Sometimes you have to think of yourself first and learn to say no, or even just cut back and smell the roses once in awhile.

Stress Management

Thursday, October 29, 2009

Today was very stressful. I have a personal battle with stress management and I didn't do a great job today! I tend to bottle all of the stress up and work faster and harder toward my work deadlines until my body does something to make me stop. Today, I literally could feel my blood pressure rise. It was painful, and I'm not sure if thats normal. I have a high stress job but I love what I do! Stress management is a must in my line of work and its something that I will continue to work on.

Tonight, in order to de-stress, I am going to relax with my husband while we eat BBQ Pulled Pork and watch scary movies in honor of Halloween. Rather than scary movies, I think we might watch the old time classic, Clue!

I was just going to type "I might exercise tonight" but then I stopped myself. I should exercise tonight and I will not do it unless it is planned in to my night. So here is tonights plan:

4:30 - Leave Work
5:00 - Eat Dinner
5:30 - Workout
6:00 - Cook Quiche for breakfasts
7:00 - Movie

Busy night, busy life!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Work is crazy. Life is crazy. I'm trying not to go crazy!

Ok, on that note...

Tonight is a busy night. I've leaving work at 4:30 to make it to my sisters last basketball game of the season on time. After that I must remember to run to the store and pick up a veggie tray. I am having dinner with the in-laws and then we are all carving pumpkins. We probably will not end up getting home until late, and I am hoping that I will be home early enough to fit in 10 minutes of some sort of exercise! I always feel better when I do!

Speaking of being busy, this weekend might be the end of me! I really would like a day of nothing, but thats not going to happen anytime soon, apparently.

Friday -
5 pm Chiropractor Appt.
Dinner (Making it or eating out?)
Haunted Houses with Friends

Saturday -
House Cleaning
Cantaberry Feast with Hubbys CoWorkers
Halloween Party
...to be followed by bar hopping with the in-laws

Sunday-
Birthday Party
...and hopfully a relaxing night... please!

I'm back, baby!

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

I surprised myself tonight! I was down on myself for getting in to the halloween candy before dinner and going over my calorie range. Usually (lately) I would use that as an excuse to not exercise. Somehow I got back in to my "if I make a mistake, I might as well give up" mind frame and I caught myself tonight! I broke that mind frame before and I am going to break it again!

Tonight, after dinner and after feeling down on myself, I worked out on the elliptical for the first time in almost two months! I strength trained for the first time in almost two months. I drank 8 cups of water today for the first time in almost two months, and I feel like I felt two months ago for the first time in... well.... two months! I am back, baby!

Today's Goals!

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

It’s been said, and I do believe that a “goal without a plan is just a dream”. I am a planner at heart and when I plan my meals out and my exercise times I tend to succeed more than when I do not. There is also a saying about taking it “one day at a time” so I am going to merge those two sayings and plan for today.

4:40 – Leave Work
5:15 – Start Dinner
6:00 – Eat Dinner
6:30 – Dishes/Clean-up
8:00 - Gazelle

Those are my deadlines for this evening. I didn’t want to plan out every little minute of my evening, but just enough to keep myself on track! I am going to work out on the Gazelle during Biggest Loser and after that I might do some strength training. I know that I am not going to do any more than 30 minutes on the gazelle because I do not want to start too fast. I want to ease in to it because that has worked so well for me in the past!
