So okay last few days I have decided to pop my bubble and give myself a slap and today seemed to be a good time. I fell off the wagon, let depression get me down lol pardon the pun! Bad eating habits have crept back in and my old slovenly ways too, I have really noticed it the last week, pigging out and feeling crappy!!! I let my emotions get to me yet again and have neglected to visit SP for 3 weeks now!!! Today I am tracking, so far I have under eaten but will have a good healthy meal to compensate this evening. I am not sure exactly why I punish myself this way? I reach a certain point, size ten, 11 stone, then bam I start eating and feeling low again.

There are other factors involved in my sudden changed direction and those I won't bore you with. The point being its each time I get a bit thinner I sabotage my efforts. I thought maybe it was because I thought it would magically take the pressure of depression away for good, it doesn't, not for me anyway it does however ease it immensely. So anyway I am back and in good spirets lets start again :). I am not sure how much weight I have put back on but its not a huge amount and I think that I have reached a good place in my journey where I can pull myself together a lot quicker then before. Onwards and upwards I say!!!! Here's to better days :)))

    Thanks for posting this and being so open. I've done the same thing. You start seeing progress and mentally, you start to think you can have a free pass to revert to previous behavior. It takes some work to lose that mentality. Learn from your experiences and move forward and never look back.

For the depression: I recommend reading the book Feeling Good: the New Mood Therapy. It certainly has helped me and it can be found at the web address below:

Today I woke up with a fresh head and new goals!!! yesterday I did a run/fast walk up and down hilly areas around 3 miles I think in under an hour. The previous day I trained my abs and my upper body as well as the Spark People 10 minute jump start cardio at a high intensity! I feel amazing that I have slipped right back into my fitness, but this time with a aim to organise and structure it too. I am concentrating on 2 home goals, kids room & the paper work! and 2 fitness goals, logging/timing workouts and structuring a personal program :) Something amazing has happened to me over recent weeks, I have found the meaning and importance of being organised.

Yesterday was a very difficult day, I was emotional, depressed craving carbs and sugar!!!! This in turn made me feel even worse!!! so ended up eating 2 slices of wholemeal toast with cadburys philly in between and then had a filling shake with banana and strawberries. The worst fail of all though was the lemon drizzle cupcake! arrrgh, lol and also polished off some prawns. I then headed to bed before I had a massive over eat on my hands! I went to bed feeliong deflated and not in control of my eating habits etc etc. When I woke I realised it was that time of the month and all became clear, it wasn't me, it was hormonal! phew, now I feel even stronger and want to succeed even more emoticon

Finding my way again

Okay so I had lost the thread of my whole weight loss journey and had ups and downs with it all for at least 2 years now. I changed the way I ate and exercised a lot. Then I weighed myself and the weight was no longer coming off (3 weeks ago). I hit a bout of depression stopped exercising, ate pizza, ice cream and all things bad, then 1 night when I was browsing through motivational videos on Youtube, someone mentioned Spark people and their tracking tools so I came here 5 days ago, well actually 6, but 5 of those tracking my nutrition and my weight and reading many other very helpful things.

I am not afraid to admit that I had missed this trick long ago and it was actually a Sparkpeople workout out video, 10 minute jumpstart cardio that got me into working out about a year ago now. I have lost 54lbs in total now and four of those are from just under a week ago of joining SP, so helpful being able to track calories, writing them down on paper never worked for me. I was eating so healthily, but because of the fear of not eating enough to speed up my metabolism I was actually eating too much.

Well the only thing I am struggling with now is working out, although today I did do a short 15 minute jog. I have been walking, but not working out and I do not understand why. I need to work on this, but my diet is now in check at least, so still smiling. Something I have learned is if I want to be healthy and not suffer the ailments of my parents later on in life, then I have to change my life now and I want to do sports with my kids and my other half, enjoy life to the fullest! When I have dieted before its been to be skinny and don't get me wrong that is a very nice bonus, but no longer my reason. I used to near starve myself and when I ate it was the wrong things, now I do it so I get enough to eat but the right things. Don't give up on your goals because you have a slip or are not losing, re-evaluate your nutrition etc and get right back into it, you can do it and so can I.

    thank you for your support, today was even better I did thhe 10 minute jumpstart cardio, then 20 minutes hard ab training, finished up with a fair few push ups then some stretching, I feel great and as though I am getting right back into it.

    Welcome to Spark and I'm glad to see that you're blogging. I'm also glad that you've already started getting in some fitness minutes. Walking is a great way to burn some calories, even if it was for just 15 minutes. After all, reaching your health and fitness goals won't happen overnight. Pat yourself on the back for already starting to become a whole new you.
