Today is the 1st day of the rest of my life!

Don't know what made me think of that, but it's so true! I could be "blue" because my house isn't getting done fast enough, but I will rejoice that things are started, there is a plan, and I know it will take more time to make it happen! The disaster (mold) came in "overnight" but the clean up took weeks, the re-construction will take months (maybe even years) but we will "babystep" out way to the end!

I didn't get to 306 overnight. It took me 58 years to get so big. It's taken me 24 months to reach 170, but I am still losing (however slowly) and I will continue to lose as long as I can!

My plan of "scheduled" eating seems to be helping. I have a yogurt with my morning coffee, eat lunch at 11, dinner at 5, and a snack sometime between 7 & 8. If I hear something begging me to eat it when it's not time to be eating I chew a stick of tasty Xtra gum.

Keeping busy building quilt blocks or knitting keeps my hands busy and my mind on something other than food. Reading a good book works OK, but I better be reading right after eating or I pick up "hand to mouth" disease!!

My husband & I went shopping yesterday. I was looking for a sweater to wear to a Holiday party (I didn't want one of those Christmas sweaters). I ended up buying a quilted jacket. It fit really nice over the turtleneck and shirt I was wearing, and I love the colors. It's really not a "Christmas" thing, but I really like it!

When we got home and I tried the jacket on again I was SHOCKED!!! I bought a size LARGE NOT an XL like I've been buying! I bought 2 size XL turtlenecks and size 16 pants! I guess I'm going to have to go back to trying everything on again! I could exchange the turtlenecks, but I won't. I'll just wear then a little big for this year & pass them down to my daughter for next year!

How can I slip down a size and not realize it? I agree with what I read yesterday... Sparkpeople is expensive... I've now gone from XXXL to an L, 42DD to a 36D, size 30-32 to a 16... That's a lot of clothes!

That's AWESOME!!!! Unfortunately (for me) I can never find anything at the resale shops! I've been to the 3 closest on several occasions and have always come out empty handed. Clearance ranks have become my friend!

Thrift shops are my friend! I wanted a holiday shirt and dear daughter wouldn't let me buy one until we went to the thrift store and looked. Well we got 14 shirts and 1 skirt for $30. The shirt I was going to buy was $15! Three of them were holiday shirts!

It was 72 degrees outside yesterday! I made my flannel pj pants and went outside to knit! It was a beautiful afternoon! But this is Fall?

Jerry will be home late tonight, it should be about 11:30 or so. It will be awesome to have him around for 4 whole days! There's quite a bit of outside work to do tomorrow while it's still in the 50's, it's supposed to get colder from Thursday on. Perhaps we are heading toward winter.

My weigh loss isn't progressing very good. I need to get some exercise in, but it just doesn't happen. I need to "just do it" yet I seem to "just do this or that" first. Today's exercise should start with dishes and vacuuming. and see where it goes from there. I know that a good dusting of the house is in order... maybe that would help my drippy nose!!

Time to feed the puppies and water the plant!

I am working on getting the exercise in. Just when I figure something out they extend the hours at work again. Went to the pool for an hour today before work. We are now working 9.5 hour days.

Weather, diet & exercise

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

We have had winds up to 60 miles an hour today and yesterday. Yesterday and Monday included rain and clouds.

The grass is dead, the leaves are gone, fall has fallen, winter is not here... yet.
I'm not a big outdoor person, but I like to look out my windows and see "pretty", whether it be green grass or snow. This howling wind with the lack of "pretty" is depressing.

God is in ALL things. I CAN read. I CAN knit. I CAN sew. I CAN be positive. I CAN stay focused! I might not be able to get on my Wii for my exercise, but if I focus on other things, I won't stray off the path.

God give me the strength to stay focused and accomplish something positive today!

Amen! As I sit here looking out my window I no longer see the green of the field across the road - the soybeans (which had been turning brown) were harvested late last night. Most of the leaves are down - one single tree is still holding onto the final few branches of color. Some green grass is poking through the leaves waiting to be raked up. But otherwise, like you, we are in that sad stage right in between fall and winter. Yet, in this final moment of moving from greens, golds, reds, and yellows to white, there is beauty. The overcast day brings a silence that is welcome. It is good to sit back and reflect. I hope you have a wonderful day. And accomplish all you want. In Christ all things ARE possible! Happy Sunday.

Monday Blues

Bad weekend. Tummy pain since Friday, my normal "solution" (Sauerkraut) hasn't helped. It MUST be over soon!
Add to that, I apparently slept on my shoulder wrong Saturday night. Yesterday I couldn't use my left hand or arm without pain. I ended up going to bed early, not able to sleep for the pain, took Tylenol PM late and finally slept like a log until 9 this morning.
Today I have tons to do, I can use my left arm as long as I move my shoulder only minimally.
Camper Laundry going, folding the sheets and blankets will be hard, but I'll get 'er done, Dishes are soaking in hot water.
Thinking on how to pull out the cutting table and work on a dress or "outfit" for next Sunday. Must figure out something to wear!
Fasting Blood sugars 160's yesterday and today, can pain raise blood sugar? I've eaten less, but moved less too.

Sauerkraut? Haven't heard about that remedy. When do you use it? How much?

Sorry you haven't been feeling well.

Haven't pulled out the cutting table in many years. My fabric room is well stocked, it's a shame.
