Beautiful day with my sister! We went banking, shopping, browsing and had lunch together. I bought some needed things and also some things that caught my eye . . . like a chrome frame that holds 3 photos and has 'friends' on it. I brought it home and immediately put in a 4x6-inch photo of me and my life long friend Marg and also two 3x3-inch photos of Marg. Her and I grew up together, knew each other since we were around 7-8 years old. Sadly, she passed away 4 years ago this Friday, just a few days before my 75th birthday. She would have followed me, would have been 75 a few weeks later. We had talked about how we'd be celebrating this special birthday and unfortunately she never got to do that. It's been four long years since she passed on and I miss her every day.
But, I got carried away there, sorry. I had a lot of fun with my sister today. We browsed a big thrift shop today and I saw lots of things I'd like to have bought and put in my home but since we're trying to downsize by letting lots of our own things go, I thought I'd better not!
A light dinner tonight, I just had a toasted bagel, wasn't very hungry. But I plan on a nice breakfast in the morning . . . poached eggs on toast, oh yummy!
Today went quickly and I'm feeling so relaxed, need to do that more often. Very enjoyable to spend some time together, just sis and I. We had a bit of rain to get through from stores to the vehicle but we "danced in the rain" . . . two little old ladies! LOL

We had a nasty storm here last night with high winds, pouring rain, thunder and lightning. The lightning was terrific and that is what I don't like the most! Our gardens and lawn needed the water though and I'm glad we got it. It is still raining here and very dark out but it is to clear up this afternoon.
I'm keeping in mind that "yesterday ended last night and every day is a new beginning, so learn the skill of forgetting and move on!"

We went to Port Dover yesterday, our favourite lakeshore town. Nice drive there with a stop at a farmers for fresh picked corn, peas, black cherries, also some tomatoes and cucumbers. Yummy veggies will make our supper tonight.
There were a lot of people at the beach and wow, oodles of boats, different shapes and sizes going in and out of the harbour. It was a pleasure to sit on the pier feeding the ducks and seagulls and watching all these boats and the happy people on them. Now that's a great way to spend a summer day!
We had a perch supper and then while on the pier, the fellows got ice cream cones from the Chapman's place right there. Those two are like little kids when it comes to cones, lol.
Here are photos of a few of the boats I snapped yesterday and some other pictures. I did not take any of the beach and have no idea why I didn't! Lots were swimming and sunning on the beautiful white sand! I think the boats mesmerized me!
Boats . . . which style and size suit you??
Our fellows buying and eating their ice cream cones, lol
My brother-in-law doing what he loves most . . . feeding seagulls
Mustn't forget the pirate sail boat!
Skeleton on the deck of the pirate ship!
We stopped at a lovely pond on the way home and I took some photos of the water, ducks, etc.
Okay, Okay, I'm a photo nut, lol. I enjoy capturing what I think of as "photo memories", something I can look at over and over and recapture the moment they were taken.
Enjoy your Sunday!
