My personal challenge for September was/is to eat healthy and get in exercise. I did not make specific things like 'so many days' etc., I mean "every" day! With my painful leg, the exercise part is difficult but most days I manage to get in a bit of walking, might be the inside perimeter of Walmarts or might be walking up and down my hallway but I do do something!
Food wise, all is well! We haven't had our supper but I planned on my homemade chili, rye toast and Becel. May have a banana after, if I want one.
Not much to say today, I'm doing well and feeling good. Just having a quiet, relaxing Sunday.

A beautiful day here. I know it isn't officially Autumn for another week but our weather says it is. Nice and cool, gentle breeze, next will come the colourful leaves on the trees. And pumpkin, can't forget pumpkin!
There is an Apple Festival next week in a small town near us. We won't be going but the entertainment is great and there are all varieties of apple to purchase. The festival is a sure sign of fall.
I did really good again today with my eating, got in just a bit of walking, not much. We went to a Chinese restaurant for our dinner tonight, with my sister and her husband. No one said anything but they all looked at my (near) empty plate when I came back to our table! I had a small slice of ham roast, some cooked mushroom, 1/2 deviled egg and a bean salad! Could not eat the bean salad, it had a terrible taste to it and usually those kind of salads are delicious! Before this meal I had a bowl of Won Ton soup but pretty well just had the broth and I put lots of green onions in it and some floating pieces of Won Ton. Dessert was a mixture of fresh cantaloupe and honeydew melon. So I did well while dining out and I feel good about that.
Lots of talking, catching up on the past week's news of our families and of course we laughed a lot of other happenings in our lives! We went for a nice drive in the country too, which all four of us enjoy.
That was my day.

The calendar on my kitchen wall
Boldly proclaims it's fall
But I need no pin-up to inform me
Of autumn's coming weather spree.
September winds are blowing now,
Storming over hill and dale I allow,
Mountains are showing snowcaps
And skies are alive with thunderclaps.
The patter on my roof is chilly rain,
Thunder quakes my windowpanes,
My weathervane is wildly spinning,
The wet of September is beginning.
Days are short and nights are longer
Firewood is piled high in the corner,
Summer chores are mostly complete
And the pantry is full of sweet treats.
Soon noisy Geese will fly south again
And sleepy bears will curl up in dens,
Animals everywhere are well aware
That change is in the cooling air.
Trees will turn their leaves of green
To autumn hues for wintry scenes
Then swirling off in the gusty breeze
Will settle to wait for winter's freeze.
Fun in summer sun has waned away
And I brace for gloomier days,
For months I'll be at natures ill will
As my world grows bleak and still.
Let it rain and let misty winds blow
Bring on grays and early snow,
Usher in frosty morn's crunch of ice,
Outside will be bad but fireside is nice.

Not a nice day outdoors but sure is cozy in the house! Iíve done well today with my eating but didnít get in any real exercise. Unless I count going up and down the stairs to do laundry?
Meals: hot porridge for breakfast, along with fat-free Greek Yogurt . . .excellent drink made in my drink machine for lunch, a Blueberry Blast, plus a small dish of jell-o . . . supper was to be a salmon pattie, rice with vegetables and then some unsweetened applesauce. My hubby changed that . . . he wanted KFC so I had one piece of chicken, a spoon of the coleslaw and stopped there! No damage done but I would have preferred the salmon pattie. However, I feel I did well today and my eating is finished until morning. Iím satisfied.
My Blueberry Blast
Wee Snooks with her rawhide bone in her mouth, greeting me as I came in the room. Canít see in the photo but her tail was wagging a mile a minute, lol.
Weíll be going to a Chinese Restaurant tomorrow night with my sister and her husband. Iím thinking ahead of time what Iíll have. Maybe start with my usual Won ton soup, itís a broth soup and Iíll only put one Won Ton in it. For the main course, oh dear, that is going to be something! But perhaps a slice of roast beef, some mushroom & small shrimps and a salad. Dessert will be fresh fruit. A little planning saves me from looking at everything and perhaps some of what I don't want, finding it's way on my plate!!
Iím so excited about this being my 12th day of my September Challenge and I havenít wavered one iota! And the best part is Iím not obsessing about food and everything is finally coming together for me. My mind is not on food constantly.
