Whew - Work OUT Time!!

Today I picked up one of my old VHS tapes - Dance Your Butt Off! I didn't realize how much I used to work out. This really made me sweat - felt good and was a nice change to just walking. I love the variety of dance, walk, tai chi, and then dance again.
No matter what you do it works - just move and enjoy yourself. I have a treadmill but it gets tiresome so now soon we can spend more time outside.

    I just wish I could dance. My hand-eye coronation is not good so it looks like I was put into a blender when I try and dance. But you are right, just get up and move. That's all anyone has to do! Take care!

    Using old tapes sounds like a good idea. When my treadmill gets boring I listen to books-on-tape from my local library. Getting interested in a good book gets my mind off the numbers on the monitor (especially if it is a good mystery) and I end up going farther.

No More Snow - I want to walk outside!

It snowed again yesterday - I shoveled it and played with my grandson in it, now I'd like to be rid of it. Is that too much to ask for spring? Maybe, but I still want it.
When I can walk outside easily - breathing isn't as much of a problem if it's warmer. I feel better and have no reason not to walk. Guess I don't have one anyway there are other forms of exercise - but doggone it - I want o walk outside with the green around me.

Whining doesn't get me anywhere I guess so I'm over it now. I will look at the white stuff and say oh goodie we need this to make the Great Lakes nicer - we do but I'm still wishing the snow was green.

Everyone enjoy the day wherever you are and be thankful that we can enjoy it. I am!

    Spring is on its way...the crocuses and the daffodils are up and blooming. They look so springy. The birds are chirping in the early mornings. I don't want any more snow either...Christmas will be soon enough for me although we usually do get one more snow at Easter. Hope your snow is soon a thing of the past also.

    oh....I hear you! We had 10.5 inches of new snow on Wednesday, and it has been cold since. No melting here! Come one can do this!

Whining Allowed

Today I'm gonna whine a little. I'm sore - ok I'm done. emoticon
Went to an exercise class last night. A friend said that if she could do it I could so I believed her. Wrong - neither of us could really keep up. We did what we could and had a great time. Most everyone there was about 18-25 and here we were gray and moving slow. We kept up for quite a bit, until I had to get on the floor. The crunches were hard, I did about half, the push ups were tough, I did about 4 but I did them.
Everyone there invited us back and told us we were wonderful and did a great job. I don't know about the great job, and today I feel it, but I want to go back. I felt so good going home, and I still feel good today. I did an hour of hard exercise. I really thought that Leslie's walks could get tough - I was wrong.
So until next Thursday - I'm going to keep lifting weights every other day so it's not as hard.

Fun, fun, fun.

    Every time I have EVER exercised with the "youngsters" the instructor ends up asking me multiple times "are you ok?" It is embarrassing - and I didn't go back when they did that.

My niche is water aerobics.....all ages.....but totally fun.

Beautiful Day!

Went for a walk today - it's so beautiful today. Sunshine is warm and the puddles are out. We kicked snow piles that were left and walked on curbs. (My grandson is 4 and we had a great time).
We walked the dogs earlier and asked if Theresa could come out and play. She did so we had a great time today.

Life is good - enjoy it while you can and love, live, and spread the sunshine to everyone! emoticon

Tai Chi Tonight

Every Saturday and Monday night I attend Tai Chi - wish I was better at it so I could do it at home. It is so relaxing and so energizing at the same time. Lots of slow exercise and good friends to talk with.
It seems to be keeping me more limber - I don't have the leg ache I used to have and I can bend and move now to do a lot more than I remember for a long time.
So far I am still walking 2 miles a day, walking the dogs 2-3 times a day (just for a few minutes), and doing stretching with bands. I want to get back using the foam roller again, it's so good for my back and core.
Now if I can just figure out something that makes me want to stay out of the junk!

    My husband makes sure that junk food stays out of our kitchen for me but, my mother-in-law loves junk and I am constantly over there. Maybe I need to send my husband back! emoticon
