Ah, there's nothing like a good night's sleep to turn a funk around. One more work day to get through, then my parents are coming up for a visit and a whale watch! The sun is shining, birds are chirping, my pants are falling down, and the fridge is full of lovely fresh produce. I feel like I could accomplish absolutely anything today. What a lovely morning indeed!

So I've been chugging right along, staying in my range and hitting most of my exercise goals (had to cut out jogging and cut back on walking, though, since I injured the tendon thingy on the bottom of my foot by walking too much in flip-flops...oops?) and the weight is just falling off. I'm down 8 pounds in three weeks! *Back flips and happy dance*!
Actually, the weight's coming off a little faster than expected so I'm making an effort to move into the higher end of my range now because hooooo boy, my body is seriously confused! TOM has arrived a bit early and I am just *all* over the place right now. My body needs to level back out before some unfortunate soul ends up at the unpleasant end of a very angry tirade. Heck, I nearly lost it yesterday over an empty reagent bottle! That is so not my usual style, and I'd really like to get back to being my normal sunny self sooner rather than later.
Right. So. Tonight, decaf green tea and and episode of Who. Oh yes. Fantastic. :) Then bedtime, after a few more pages of The Spark. Hey, at least I'm not craving chocolate! And I'm only two pounds away from meeting my first goal. Just have to get through the work week...

Holy moly! Okay, I almost always eat leftovers for lunch at work but I was in a rush this morning and didn't even remember to grab one of the Healthy Choice frozen meals I keep in my freezer for days like today. So this afternoon I stopped at Au Bon Pain and picked up a Mediterranean Wrap. It's more calories than I would normally eat for lunch but it's full of good stuff - or so I thought. Until I got home and put it in my tracker... and realized that I had eaten 1770 mg of sodium IN ONE MEAL! 1.77 grams. Grams!!! 1770 milligrams in one puny meal!!!!
To put that in perspective, I had 1400mg of sodium TOTAL yesterday. No wonder I had problems with high blood pressure before I started cooking things from scratch last year. I knew restaurant food had a lot of salt but not THAT much. Shoot, I could have stopped next door at Burger King and ordered large salted fries for just 500 calories and 850mg of sodium. Unbe-freaking-leavable.

Bacon and eggs is not something I indulge in often, but when I do I do it right. Check out this beauty of a breakfast!
One egg, two strips of bacon (broken in half to fit in the frying pan), a cup of fresh spinach, a couple olives, a bit of red bell pepper, a teaspoon of feta cheese, and cooked in a dab of olive oil instead of butter. Yum! And just 300 calories to boot.

My pedometer has arrived! I went with the Omron HJ-303. It's nice and small with multiple sensors so it can count steps and calculate distance/calories at any angle. I can keep it in my pocket discreetly and track my steps all day. I'm curious to see how much I walk on a typical day, because I honestly have no idea. I *think* it's a fair bit, but now I can track it accurately.
Also, 100 calorie Klondike bars were a wonderful discovery.
Two work weeks in, no binging, and I'm exercising every single day - this is going really well so far. And now I'm off to give myself another gold star.
