When we arrived in south Baja we picked up a little white dog off the street. Since then we have seen to it that she got all her shots, dewormed, no fleas or mange and it turns out she is mostly schnauzer. This is all good but then we had to pay attn. to how she acts with the dog who belongs to this house. Chica is a bit of a bully. Not major but she steals Lalas bed and food. She is still not up to snuff so we will wait a while till we get her spayed. Lala on the other hand has a mouth full of rotten teeth. Not just a little, a very disgusting mess. I am going to enquire what it would cost to pull them. Chica is 2 and Lala is 8.

Last night out of the blue our fortmer landlady phoned and said would we like to come and get our stuff. For sure!! Pretty well everything we left was there though she had put it all in boxes so we could not go from room to room to check. When I got home and unpacked the only thing missing of note was my tablecloth. I was a little bit perturbed. It meant more to me than any other item. This morning we went over there hoping to catch her before she returned to Cabo San Lucas and sure enough she had taken the tablecloth off meaning to wash it. I took it as is and washed it and now it is so gorgeous on the table. Funny how attached we get to our stuff. In Canada it is my chandelier in the dining room. One yr. I found it and bought it even though we really could not afford it and every time I enter the dining room I admire it. I am far too materialistic.

No denial here......conceited, proud, and materialistic. I am still a nice person though and am never unkind if at all possible.

Lucky Us!

Life is good. We got together with some of the Mexican Bahais and went out for chinese food to celebrate the birthday of the founder of the Bahai Faith. We did it a bit early because it is hard to hit people's days off so we just went for the day most of them were available. In a perfect world one could take the day off to celebrate but in Mexico with its very high unemployment that will not happen. So we were 5 adults and two babies. The babies were so good that their parents sure can take a bow. After chinese we went to Dairy Queen and had ice cream.
This morning we went looking for a bulletin board with American/Canadian activities posted but no luck. In the process Charlie said 'Lets have coffee' and we ended up with breakfast. Great restaurant! I had fresh fruit with yogurt and coffee. Can't go too wrong with that. But wait, we ate and drank sitting outside under a roof overlooking sailboats on the fabulous blue ocean with both dogs tied to our chairs. Lucky us!

On to a Rocker

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

I have been doing well with my food intake, sleeping and getting some exercise. I bought a dress yesterday and was amazed how well it fits. It is a medium and usually I need a large. So I am happy. Will have a friend over for lunch today and she is watching her weight too so will make a big imitation crab salad and some yogurt and fresh fruit.
Yesterday I consulted with DH about the fact that we really have no comfortable chairs here to just sit in and read. So we agreed to go to second hand stores till we found some. We only found one so far. It is a rocker and needs a good scrub and pillows and then will be fine.

Your lunch sounds wonderful. If only people realized how good eating healthy can be.

Good for you shopping second hand!! Quite often the quality of things you find there is better than what you find in furniture stores!! When its been used a bit you can SEE the quality!! emoticon

Yesterday we had a promise from our former landlady that she would come and let us into the house at Yucatan St. and let us get our things but she was a no show. Bag!
Our little dog Chica is showing a livlier side to herself and I think it is due to a better diet and getting rid of all fleas, worms etc. She bit the ear of the dog that lives here to show her that the food bowl belongs to Chica(I think not!) We will have to watch that she does not bully Lala.
Another day in paradise and we will just putter. Some shopping and will visit with a friend later this morning.
