On to a Rocker

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

I have been doing well with my food intake, sleeping and getting some exercise. I bought a dress yesterday and was amazed how well it fits. It is a medium and usually I need a large. So I am happy. Will have a friend over for lunch today and she is watching her weight too so will make a big imitation crab salad and some yogurt and fresh fruit.
Yesterday I consulted with DH about the fact that we really have no comfortable chairs here to just sit in and read. So we agreed to go to second hand stores till we found some. We only found one so far. It is a rocker and needs a good scrub and pillows and then will be fine.

Your lunch sounds wonderful. If only people realized how good eating healthy can be.

Good for you shopping second hand!! Quite often the quality of things you find there is better than what you find in furniture stores!! When its been used a bit you can SEE the quality!! emoticon

Disappointed!

Monday, November 05, 2012

Yesterday we had a promise from our former landlady that she would come and let us into the house at Yucatan St. and let us get our things but she was a no show. Bag!
Our little dog Chica is showing a livlier side to herself and I think it is due to a better diet and getting rid of all fleas, worms etc. She bit the ear of the dog that lives here to show her that the food bowl belongs to Chica(I think not!) We will have to watch that she does not bully Lala.
Another day in paradise and we will just putter. Some shopping and will visit with a friend later this morning.

Domingo

It is the tail end of summer here and hot, hot, hot! I can't say I like it. My poor hubby especially can hardly bear it. It usually cools off a bit by this time of yr. but not 2012. We have chores to take care of today and we are invited to friend's house late this afternoon. That is where the two sisters have a little girl of 1 yr. and an 8 month old boy. Looking forward to seeing them. I am going to make a pot of chicken pozolle and salad to eat today. I will track and go to Spark Coach. Getting into good habits seems to be the way.

Settling

Saturday, November 03, 2012

We finally moved into the rental house which our friend usually rents but she will be away to Japan till we need to return to Canada. Now that we are finally able to stretch out and start living we find ourselves exhausted and do nothing but clean up, eat and sleep. Good thing friends came over last night and brought their little ones Melanie 1 yr. and little Axel 8 months so we can see how they are doing. The children are adorable. The dogs are okay but dying for a good walk. This WILL happen tonight. It is so hot here that we just want to veg. Around noon we want to go see the new James Bond movie, it will be cool in the theatre. Tomorrow we will finally be able to get our things out of the rental house we were in last yr. when we left. We had planned to rent it again but the lady who owns it was so difficult we ended up terminating the relationship. We do need the stuff in that house though or we would have to repurchase things like sheets, towels, coffee maker, computer table etc. I finally checked on the scale and with all that eating in restaurants I never put on an ounce. Wow! So here we go back to the good eating plan, tracking and general good eating behavior.

So glad you arrived safely and with no car problems! Traveling is always a challenge to eating properly I think, so I am glad you are getting settled in for the winter and back to eating well!

Thank you Bluenose 63. I have to admit I am impressed as well. We had to watch our finances so we started out eating in some fast food places but they are good about posting calories. Once we were in Baha it becamie a bit harder and I find that deep frying is popular here. Yuck! Stuck to eggs, refried beans and corn tortillas a lot.

As someone who has moved 27 times in my life, I know how hard it can be to eat well when transitioning to a new home/area etc.

Good for you for not gaining an ounce. emoticon

Almost Settled

Friday, November 02, 2012

We have moved into our rental house. This is a house normally rented by a wonderful Japanese woman and all the furnishings are hers. She is going to Japan to spend time with family and we will live here and take care of her dog while she is gone. We are very lucky to have this. Still lots of work to do to settle in but the main is done. The two dogs are good together. We had a better night's sleep last night than for a while. When we can we will take a break and go and watch 007 (James Bond).
