My First Epic Fail - And Some Medical News

And hopefully my last truly epic fail, but I am okay with smaller failures. I told my sister that I would go to Endless Shrimp with her one time before she had to go have her surgery and I did eat the endless shrimp, knew I would. And here I, hypocrite that I apparently am, said I couldn't see how people could eat 10000 calories in a day (or is that show 10000 calories in a sitting?). emoticon Yes, I get that it is only once or twice that I do it, but still I shouldn't rag on other people doing it if I am gonna. I ended up with a total of 8922 calories to day, ugh. The number alone just makes me mad at myself. I will definitely be doing way better about staying within the calories that I needed to stay within.
The good thing is that I still did my mile walk today, after eating that much. The only reason I was able to was that I also had to walk all over Menards to get the stuff to fix my closet door, and the Wal-mart to pick up my prescription, and I deliberately parked further out than I normally would. The great part is that the mile only took me 14 minutes, although my sister's dog Brody probably did like twelve miles to my one the way he was running around.

On the Medical front....
I got the results back from the blood test that my doctor wanted to do to verify that I have PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome). And the tests proved that I do have PCOS and the medication that I picked up was for it (Metformin, if anyone knows anything about it). So now I am hoping that the medication, changing my diet, and starting in on exercising will help me shed the weight. The nurse who called me about the medication had known someone who used it and it helped them, so I have some hope. I am really thinking right now that this time it is going to work!

    Good luck on the journey to lose some weight and change your health! Don't be too harsh on yourself about the 'epic incident.'

I'm not sure what else you ate today but I would truly be shocked and amazed if you were able to eat 9,000 calories in shrimp alone!

Walking on a Monday

Decided that I was gonna take a whack at the 5k your way walk plan, since I have been walking since it is past the peek swimming season here. And no, I do not have a gym or Y membership, yes, I am looking and hoping I can afford one soon, and then I will try to do some swimming year round! Anyway...
So it went great today, except I took two of my sister's dogs, instead of just Brody I brought Riley along instead. Talk about a case of cannot handle it, Riley will have to try going along some, although before he goes again we are going to have to work on his recall abilities. Without him Brody comes back no problem, but if another dog is around who doesn't come back Brody assumes he doesn't need to listen either.
This weekend I also started in on cleaning the basement of our barn (as we call it the bottom barn) out so that I can try to find away to heat it and use it for walking/exercising this winter. Talk about getting in over your head! I will be putting enough exercise in just cleaning the bottom barn that I should loose some weight! Everybodies crap (and actual crap not stuff just being called crap), used goodness knows what, broken glass, and miscellaneous farm equipment strewn all over the place! Ugh! Have already started burning some of the old hay and box cut outs just to get them out of the w way so the real cleaning can get done.
Will have to get some pictures of how it looks now so that I can see the how the end result is different for myself when I am finally done.

Started out the day with a trip to the dentist for a cleaning, had noticed a filling came out the other day (not done by present dentist) . So cleaning turned into a filling as well, at least the hygienist told me that my teeth are good, and there was no excess decay where my filling came out. The dentist is great because they give me extra pain killer for my lower jaw since the pain just seems to keep coming.

From there I went to the doctor, since I weighted last week I have lost two pounds, hopefully will keep this up!

Lastly got a call to go to work, at like 10pm, after being up all day. I really wish I had had a chance to sleep as it was a trip to Canada! Great since the milage is good and I have a passport. Sucky doodles.

Wednesday, my first day off of two, and it was packed!

Started off with laundry this morning, which wasn't really simple as I had to gather it together since I over flowed my laundry basket some time ago. Then I decided it was such a nice day that I could dry most of it outside, we have lines up to dry with so why not. Boy if only it was that easy. Hung some on the baby duck pen and then headed for the laundry line for the majority of my laundry. Well, to start with I had to trim trees, a bush, and all kinds of weeds; and then I had to fix the tensioner that was put up to hold the lines up. Really, it is just time that we should replace the end posts on our clothing line.

From there it was time to head to the garden, my beans came in strong, but my squash was destroyed by bugs, even with Sevin, my corn by deer/pinies/squirrels. My tomatoes have gone bush on me and are not even ripening real well. My carrots did never come up, but I pulled the last of my turnips today. My Brussels sprouts ended up being all cabbage with one trying to come in with some actually sprouts. I will definitely be making some changes to how I am gardening next year.

Will have the Sevin in hand to get bugs under control early. Will be bringing my squash and cucumbers up off the ground to see if it helps. Am going to try, not sure this is a will, to get my tomatoes, peppers, and Brussels sprouts going prior to planting season. Will be adding some kind of fence to at least put the deer off a little. Will be adding a few owl/hawk plastic guys around on the surrounding trees and on the barn to help keep little critters away. And if it comes down to it I suppose that Brody, Dekoda, or Tanga and I will have to spend a night or two down round the garden. All this assuming we make it through December (I am going with we will personally).

Tomorrow will just be so much fun, dentist in the morning, doctor in the afternoon, but at least I won't have to add laundry to that.

Worst idea ever! Taking a walk when you feel like crap! Wan't feeling too hot, but did a mile and a half walk anyway, the only real downside that it was at the slowest mph that I have ever done. Although Brody had plenty of fun running along with me, ahead of me, and around me! The good news is that he did a really good job of coming back when he was called and behaving.
