This is my second week on my new running program.
Last week I beat my timed two mile run goal by 4 minutes.
This morning, I cut off another 15 seconds.
I didn't think, when I was putting together my new running schedule, that I'd be able to run 5 days a week. But it's really not as bad as it sounds. I was already running 3 days a week with workouts in between.
Now I've cranked up the intensity.
It helps to pack my gym bag before I go to bed so I know I have everything for work after I leave the gym in the morning. It also helps to have a written schedule. I really have to schedule that time for the gym... otherwise, I'll skip it.
And Monday night, when I have a scheduled run outside, I really didn't want to.
Right as I was about to go lay down, my boyfriend texted me and asked how my run went today.
I'm glad that I asked him to hold me accountable. I really did just want to lay down.
But after the run, I had more energy to do all the little chores around my apartment that needed to get done.
My cat appreciated the clean litter box.
And so, a weekend is going to be hard to stay on schedule. I'll have to run outside because I only have a gym membership in one city. And I'll have to balance my workout schedule around "things" that I want to do.
But I feel better, and I know I can do this.
I'm staying away from the scale for now. Maybe mid June, I'll get on and see where a month of running like this has taken me.
