Monday, October 18, 2010's been a little bit. I can't say I'm terribly proud of myself for the past month and a half. I've been kinda lazy...and kind of a piggy. lol....I've enjoyed eating unhealthy food way too much and enjoyed laying around even more so. Sad...I know. I didn't do much damage weight wise....actually I'm holding steady. But I should be DOWN. Grrr. Anyways...time to get my butt back on track. Re-motivation time.

We're gonna be doing Zumba at Curves and I'm so excited. Not really for sure how it's all gonna work out just yet, but it's something new and challenging. And I love that. I got the workouts for my birthday, so I can kind of test drive them. This is a whole new ballgame for me. I've done kickboxing and hip hop workouts, but latin?!? Pshh....This white girl isn't supposed to move this way. LoL...But I'm too stubborn and determined to let it get me down. Practice makes perfect. And laughing burns calories? So why not right?

So my plan.....Is to do my favorite workouts....and get my butt in shape. This is just what I need over the holiday season. I gotta move as much as possible!!! So.....what a challenge this is gonna be.....

Turbo Fire....
Turbo Jam....
Brazil Butt Lift...

all in one crazy rotation. Mmmhmm. Time to get skinny. And laugh a lot. Let's roll.

    I'm glad to see you are still here Gina! I finally made it to goal this year. I don't know how it happened but something finally clicked and I started kicking butt in my workouts. Now I want to hang onto it and am thinking about Personal Trainer at our new Kroc Center.

My September goals were definitely not met. I don't want to beat myself up too much because of it, but it is totally my fault. Eating too much and too little exercise...well that's not going to produce the results I want to see. Is it? Nope...

But ya know...I'm not going to be perfect. I can't say I totally regret it because I certainly enjoyed all the yummy food I've eaten over the past 30 days. I've enjoyed being lazy. There I said...sometimes, it's just fun to do nothing. HaHa. But no more.

October is a new month with new goals. I love fall. It's the perfect weather for walking outside and really creating a routine. I read an article just the other day about how fall is usually the most successful time of year for weight loss. I can totally see how this is true, especially for mothers. Kids go back to school and everyone gets into a routine. It's not like summer where your schedule is all over the place. Cookouts, parties....which means lots and lots of food. Everyone always does better when they have a good routine.

October is also my birthday. And even better reason to kick my own butt into gear after a crappy month. I'll be 28. Crazy?!?! I don't feel 28...even though I acted 28 in September. HaHa. I want to feel 20...I want to look 20. I'm gonna rock out in October. I'm going to be cooking and baking a lot over the next few weeks. That's unavoidable. It's not all going to be healthy, no question. But I HAVE to limit HOW MUCH of the unhealthy foods I stick in my mouth. I also HAVE to move! I need to get off my kiester and move as much as possible. I need to get my heart healthy minutes in and get back on track with my M2.

So here is the plan....

Healthy Eating
1.) Eat as many fruits & veggies as possible.
2.) Continue on with the Curves Weight Management Plan.
3.) Continue to post my food on my blog.
4.) Drink lots of water.
5.) Take my supplements every day.
6.) Eat 6 times a day.

1.) Workout at Curves every day that I work.
2.) Walk everyday that I don't work 12 hours for at least 30 minutes. Get outside!
3.) Get my M2 green every single day.
4.) Try to get at least 60 minutes of heart minutes 6 days a week.
5.) Do the weighted hula hoop for at least 10 minutes each day.
6.) Play Wii for at least 20 minutes 3 times a week.

I'll stay accountable by weighing in every Monday just like always. I want to lose at least 20 more pounds by Christmas! I can do this.

    Ambitious but do-able. Is there some way you can get out of baking so much during the holidays? That's where I would have trouble.

What supplements do you take & why?

Just curious about what supplements everyone is taking and what they're reason is. I love to read about supplements and how they can do amazing things for our bodies.

I take:
A multi-vitamin, Calcium, Vitamin D (5,000 IU), CLA, Hair Skin & Nails Supplement, B Complex, Fish Oil and a Maximum Antioxidant Formula.

    Ohh. Good question. I'm researching supplements too, to see what could help me. I get major PMS (mood swings, cramps, tired, depressed) From what I've found I need B6 (and Vit C, E, and D to metabolize it). Probably calcium and zinc (these levels are always low on my tracker). I get major chocolate cravings and when I eat a little bit of dark chocolate it helps with cramps. Apparently this can be due to a lack in magnesium - chocolate is a source. Who knew! I take 1-2tsp of fish oil a day for EFAs, cinnamon to help control my appetite, and usually a scoop of whey protein.

I'm looking into multis and Vit D too.

  My doctor has me take 1500mg of immediate release Niacin (nicotinic acid) at bed time and 1000mg of flax seed oil with meals (when I can remember to) to lower my triglycerides.

I did manage to lower them from around 250 to 150.

Both my family doctor and my orthopedic surgeon told me to take glucosamine condroitin so I take that as well.

A visual motivator!

I think this week I'll go buy one of those dry erase calendars to help myself stay motivated and on track. I think it will be a great visual motivator. If it's staring me in the face first thing in the morning and at night, I think it will really help my focus. I read it in an article on spark, and it sounds like just what I need. I love to be organized and somewhat methodical. Almost too the point of being anal, lol. But that's works for me.

So yeah...thats the plan. :D

Eating Plan:
Keep moving on with the Curves Weight Management Plan. Splurge on Sundays like I've been doing. It seems to be the perfect thing for my metabolism. I consistently lose each week.

Workout Plan:
Week 1: Turbo Fire Week
Week 2: Hip Hop Abs Week
Week 3: Turbo Jam Week
Week 4: Brazil Butt Lift Week
Week 5: Turbo Fire Week
Week 6: Rockin Body Week
Week 7: Turbo Jam Week
Week 8: Brazil Butt Lift Week
My goal is to do my Curves workout everyday that I work and on top of that do one workout video. I also really need to focus on getting 3 days of strength training.
I also want to make sure I stretch out really well after each workout, because I want to increase my flexibilty.

The Me Plan:
1. Devote 30 minutes every day to learning Spanish.
2. Get information on personal training classes at BRCC.
3. Get out of the house and go do something with friends at least 2-3 times this month. (i've become a hermit, it's sad. lol)
4. Stay positive, no negative talk.
