*2012* Day 28

Saturday, January 28, 2012

1/28- 30 minutes on the elliptical. I am having digestive issues today, so I will add 2 SP challenge videos tomorrow and earn my January JumpStart Challenge Trophy. (I hope!)
I also walked the neighborhood a bit to help my 9 yr old deliver some of her Girls Scout cookies.

And speaking of those addictive cookies, Yes, I did have some of them and I hope I can start to resist the urge to open the package again and again and again! They are just too good! Grrrrrr!

I am psyched about a new challenge I created for my 40 & Fabulous team! If you are in your 40's feel free to join us in the challenges forum! ( www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_i

I hope to incorporate more new meal plans and snack plans into my diet and I hope to earn the 5,000 fitness minutes trophy next month....it will be a 1st for me if I can do it!

*2012* Day 27 ~ Coming Back!

Friday, January 27, 2012

1/27/12

As much as I was unsure of how my body would react from doing cardio with this cold, I went ahead and decided to go for it this morning. I took some extra puffs of my inhaler because I knew I would probably have some breathing issues because of my asthma. I had to use a tissue a few times throughout the workout because of my nose running, but I made it to the end. I then decided I would do 2 of the January Jumpstart SP videos to start to make up for the days I missed this week. Well, before I knew it I was cheering myself on and pushing myself to do 'just one more video'. Before I knew it I had done 4 SP videos which made up all the past days challenge videos! emoticon Me!

Today's WorkOut:
30 minute elliptical/7-Minute Upper Body Workout with Dumbbells/12-Minute Seated Core Workout/10-Minute Pilates Hips & Thighs Workout/9-Minute Arm Sculpting Workout

Tomorrow I plan on doing 30 minutes on the elliptical and 2 SP challenge videos.
The BIG challenge will be to stay away from the Girl Scout cookies that I will be picking up from my daughter's cookie mom tonight and helping her deliver to her customers tomorrow!

*2012* Day 25-26 ~ Head Cold

Thursday, January 26, 2012

1/25- I was pretty much useless today. Two loads of laundry and that is about all.

1/26- Thursday is always a pretty busy day with all the back and forth running of my kids around. I had to catch up on some housework (put away laundry, straighten 5 yr old's room, clean bathroom, another load of laundry) and that pretty much tired me out. I hope to be back to some SP videos tomorrow; not sure I will be up for cardio (the elliptical) since my sinuses still aren't clear and I already have asthma issues. This has set me back with finishing the January Jumpstart Challenge, btu somethings are just inevitable I guess. Looking onward!

Doesn't the working out clear you up for a little bit? I find that about 5-10 min. in my head/nose begins to clear.

*2012* Day 23-24 ~ Head Cold

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

1/23- I got in 30 minutes on the elliptical and did the SP video 9-Minute Total Lower Body Workout. I did not have a lot of motivation, but I did get some things done around the house today.

1/24- Well, I could blame the past few days of being unmotvated and tiredness on lack of sleep or even lack of sunshine, but the reality of it is that a head cold was brewing. Every week since before Christmas someone (mainly my kids) has been sick every week. Stomach viruses, colds, and then this past week my husband had a nasty cold and I probably got it form him. So even though today is my day sans kids, I can't workout and have to take it easy so I can get better. I wish I could 'feel' motivated, but I am achy and just want to sleep! I am getting ready to have lunch now (chicken noodle soup) and may work on ordering some photos online this afternoon before having to pick up my daughter from school. Other than that, I don't think much else is going to get done today. This kind of stuff always happens when I HAVE the time! I guess you just can't plan for that!

Sometimes listening to our bodies and resting is the best thing we can do for ourselves in the long run.
Feel better! emoticon

*2012* Day 21-22~Outta Steam Today

Sunday, January 22, 2012

1/21- 30 minutes on the elliptical. I almost didn't get this workout in, but forced myself to and I'm glad I did. It was invigorating and well worth the effort.

1/22- 8-Minute Athletic Intervals Workout and 15-Minute Abs Workout.

It's almost Noon here and I did these 2 SP videos, but had a rough time of it. Both of these videos are NOT my favorites, but I pushed through them the best I could. I am just out of steam today. If I have a burst of energy later in the day I may get on the elliptical for 30 minutes, but at the moment that looks unlikely. I have one more week in the January JumpStart Challenge and I think after this challenge ends I am going to focus on finding SP strength training videos focused on the back of my arms, thighs, butt and abs. My cardio will mainly be the elliptical because I'm not quite coordinated enough for some of the SP interval workouts. That said, this jump-start program has really helped me focus on my fitness goals. I just hope I can continue at this pace so I can see some results soon! The next biggest step I need to take is revamping my eating habits and becoming more involved in new menu plans.

I like the illustration... sometimes it really does feel that way.

Seems like one of the things you learned this month was making a plan and sticking to it. Also that your workouts are an appointment you need to keep for yourself. Its just another task to get done amidst all the other running around you do in your every day life.
