*2012* Day 17-18

Yesterday (Day 17) was a rest day. I was kid-less and decided I was going to take a relaxing day for ME! I finished a book I've been reading, watched 3 episodes of an hour long show that was TIVO'ed, and then put some books on my Kindle for future reading.

Today (Day 18), I was tired and knew I had to get in my exercise early today or it wouldn't happen. After I returned from dropping my oldest daughter at school, I told my 5 yr old that I was exercising. So at 9:05am I got on the elliptical for 30 minutes, then did the 8 minute video from yesterdays challenge and today's 12 minute challenge video. And, I reached 500 fitness minutes for the month! This is only the 2nd time I have done this. Very proud if I do say so myself! Not sure I will hit the 1,000 fitness minutes trophy, but I can try I guess!

It is cold and windy as all heck here today and it would've been so easy to just lounge around today. Right now I am tired, but I feel great knowing I forced myself to get that exercise in! emoticon

    You are doing so great. It's wonderful to see you being so positive and making the choices to put yourself first, even when it's just reading or watching TV. Very healthy choices in the long run too.

I didn't think I was going to get in my elliptical today, let alone 2 SP videos....but I DID!
It was later in the day (4:30-5:30), but I made it happen. Some days I surprise myself and today was one of them.

Day 12- 30 minutes on the elliptical and 2 videos (10-Minute Pilates Hips & Thighs Workout/12-Minute Seated Core Workout)

Day 13 30 minutes on the elliptical and 1 workout video (9-Minute Arm Sculpting Workout)

Day 14 No exercise today.

Day 15 30 minutes on the elliptical and 1 workout video (15-Minute Abs Workout)

Each day that I exercised was a struggle to get motivated and fit in the exercise time, but I am feeling guilty if I don't workout and know that it always makes me feel better (and sleep better too!) It is half way through the month of January and I almost have my goal of 500 fitness minutes! I can't believe it! Only one other month I achieved this trophy and that was in September 2011. emoticon

So, I was a bit sore from yesterday. Today I was having some digestive issues, so I decided to take the day off from exercise. I will make up today's challenge video tomorrow. Sometimes you just need a day to bounce back and I hope doing that today helps me have a more successful day tomorrow.

    You are wise to have a rest day, it's obviously what your body is telling you it needs! It's so easy to get fixated on all the things we 'have' to do that sometimes we forget that we need to rest sometimes too. Hope you had a great day!

*2012* Day10~ Back On Track!

I'm now back on track with my January Jump Start Challenge workouts and even got in a 30 minute workout on my elliptical today! No issues with the elliptical today and I found some information online that my husband will try the next time the resistance issue shows up again.

Eating properly is going to have to be more of a focus for me soon, because all my hard work means nothing if I am just putting meaningless calories back into my body. Gotta find some new meals and snack ideas to help with this.
