*2012* Day10~ Back On Track!

I'm now back on track with my January Jump Start Challenge workouts and even got in a 30 minute workout on my elliptical today! No issues with the elliptical today and I found some information online that my husband will try the next time the resistance issue shows up again.

Eating properly is going to have to be more of a focus for me soon, because all my hard work means nothing if I am just putting meaningless calories back into my body. Gotta find some new meals and snack ideas to help with this.

*2012* Day 9~ Positive Outlook!

First of all a BIG emoticon to everyone who posted a reply to my blog yesterday! Two days without exercising and I felt like I blew the January challenge ALREADY and wouldn't be able to keep going with it. But, TODAY is a NEW day and I am determined!

I EASILY could've made today Day 3 of not exercising. When I woke up I felt so tired and unable to pep up. Although I did sleep better last night, I think I am still catching up from the sleep I lost when my daughter was sick. Also, my monthly friend is on the way....Yeah! (NOT!)

So after starting some laundry, ironing some patches on my daughter's Brownie vest (they are going bowling tonight and she likes to have ALL the badges on there that she has earned so far and I did not get 2 on that she earned before Christmas), filling out permission slip forms for upcoming Brownie field trips, folding some laundry and then getting my 5 year old set up on the Xbox Kinect for "Dance Kids 3", I decided I was going to try my elliptical again.

For those of you who may not follow my blog regularly, my elliptical had been acting wonky since summer. The issue is that the resistance will get stuck at the highest resistance level (10) and not come down, making for an impossible workout. Imagine starting your elliptical workout at Level 10! emoticon So I got on it and it was at that level, so I turned off the fan, upped the resistance to 10 (it was at 1, but it was really at 10 , if you follow me), then I quickly changed the level from 10 to 1 and I could feel the resistance loosen up to 1. Sometimes this works, but most times it does not. My husband had the bottom part apart last week and he said that as soon as he plugged it back in that he thought the magnets adjusted to the higher level by itself. Today however, I noticed that while I was working out the fan would drop and then go up and do it again. Then a little more than half way through the workout the resistance got stuck again. I think once it hits level 10 is what does it. Most of the time I do Intermediate Level 2 for 30 minutes and it only goes to Level 8, but since I am starting over and trying to build up my stamina, I thought I would start on Beginner Level 1, which takes you up to Level 10. I may have to re-think this. So I think it may be something with the electronics. My husband is an electrician and says I should start searching online to see if there was a recall or something and maybe we can get a motherboard from the company to fix the issue. I will be investigating this soon because I emoticonLOVE emoticon my elliptical! Without it I know I would not have been able to lose any of the pounds I did last year.

So that said, I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and (2) SP videos: Day 7 Challenge video (15-minute Abs Workout), and the Day 2 challenge video 9-Minute Total Lower Body Workout. I feel more energized and optimistic now that I have today's workouts behind me. It's a very positive and happy feeling that I wish I could just pluck out of me on days when I feel I cannot motivate myself.

Tomorrow is Tuesday and my 5 year old goes to my parent's house for the day to spend time with her Nana. I will get in my (2) SP videos tomorrow and hopefully an elliptical workout. If the elliptical does not cooperate, I will have to do a SP cardio video. That is my plan. By Wednesday I will be back on track with the January Challenge videos and hope to add an extra video per day Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.

    I hope you can get the elliptical fixed quickly. What brand do you have? Maybe I can help you search for the info you need. I am in front of the comp all the time at work anyway. What's another googling

Today was another down day. I did not sleep well again last night and I just did not have the energy today. My plan of action is to double up on the January Challenge videos the next 2 days & cardio so I can get back on track for the challenge.

Mon 1/9: Day 7 & Day 1 challenge videos/20 mins of cardio
Tue: 1/10: Day 2 & Day 3 challenge videos/40 mins of cardio
Wed: 1/11 Day 4 challenge video/20 mins cardio
Thur: 1/12 Day 5 challenge video/Extra SP video/20 mins cardio
Fri: 1/13 Day 6 challenge video/Extra SP video/20 mins cardio
Sat: 1/14 Day 7 challenge video/Extra SP video/20 mins cardio

IF my elliptical gets fixed I can easily do 30 mins on the elliptical at a shot.

1/6/12 DAY 6

Well, my day started out with my daughter feeling very ill (coughing/runny nose/fever). I did
manage to get in (2) videos: SP 9-minute Arm Sculpting & 10-Minute Bootcamp Cardio Workouts. I was busy taking care of my daughter and forgot to blog yesterday, hence the double post today.

1/7/12 DAY 7

Last night my sick little girl kept me up a lot of the night, so I was very tired and cranky today and she is still sick today, although not as bad. I managed to get boxes down from the attic, took the decorations off the big tree in the living room and the smaller tree in the basement, and packed up the small tree. My husband put the big tree away and put all the boxes up in the attic for me. I also had to keep the kids busy with crafts while I was doing all of this. Three loads of laundry done as well. To top it off, I was having a lot of digestive discomfort today, which meant more time in the bathroom. Needless to say, no SP workouts today, although I am tired and my body feels like I worked out all day since I barely sat down. I'm hoping that I get a good night's sleep tonight and that I can get some good exercise minutes logged for tomorrow. Looking ahead! emoticon

YOU know there is a way to track the moving and lifting boxes ... in the add cardio got t0 heavy house work i think it is and type in your time.

Just a quick blog entry for today. I was so out of it and tired today. Not quite sure why, but this cold weather has not been very good for my motivation. I did make myself do today's challenge video and also did an 8 minute SP cardio video. 18 minutes total. Better than nothing I guess. This evening my daughters had a pizza party after their church choir practice and parents were invited as well. So I did have pizza, but I tried to eat less and a little better throughout the day.     18 minutes IS better than nothing, hold on to that and use it to get moving the next time and you may find you have a longer workout than intended.Sometimes we have to 'trick' ourselves to get momentum going. emoticon
