The BLC17 TNT (Trim & Tone) Thursday challenge for today was to do:
1. 5 Minute Cardio Warm Up - 5 points
2. Choose 4 Upper Body Exercises 2 sets of 10-12 reps 5 pts per exercise = 20 pts total
3. Choose 3 Core Exercises 25 reps of each - 5 pts per exercise = 15 pts total
4. Choose 3 Lower Body Exercises - 2 sets of 10-12 reps - 5 pts per exercise = 15 pts
5. Cool Down Stretch - 5 pts
BONUS Get 40 bonus points for drinking at least 8 glasses of water today.
I did not plan on doing my elliptical today, but when I saw I had to do 5 mins of cardio and
I didn't know WHAT to do, I figured I'd just do my elliptical. This was a bonus.
These are the exercises I did:
Side Plank on Ball, Alternating Dumbbell Biceps Curls, Boxer,One-Arm Dumbbell Rows, Seated Dumbbell Triceps Extensions, Low Mount Abduction with Band, Lying Hamstring Curls with Ball, Wall Squats with Ball, Dumbbell Side Bends, and Crunches with Ball.
So, I got my 60 points for doing the toning challenge, but I'm not sure I am going to get the last of my water in for today. So far I have 48 ozs done. I will try!

On the BLC17 Team you get to apply for 3 teams and then you are placed on one of them by the team administration. Today was the team announcements and I am on the Crimson Butterflies! This is the description of the team when I applied:

This team is about change. Changing our negative thoughts into positive actions. Changing the way we think and feel about ourselves and about diet and exercise. We are here to support and motivate and challenge each other as we work together toward our own individual goals. We encourage each and every team member to participate in daily and weekly challenges, we require you to post a minimum of three times a week, and we expect you to respect and value others opinions/beliefs.
Each week will begin with Wednesday weigh-in, Thursdays are TNT days (Tighten N Tone), every week-end (Friday-Monday) there will be different challenges, and Tuesday is LCW Day (Last Chance Workout). Participation, not perfection, is our number one goal. Most of all we want you to have fun, form new friendships, make daily exercise a habit and learn lifestyle/nutrition changes that will last a lifetime.

The Biggest Loser Challenge 17 Spark Team challenge begins this Wednesday, 9/7/11, and runs for 12 weeks! On Monday we find out which teams we are on, which everyone is anticipating! I have mixed feeling about the challenge, as I am just starting to try to plan when I have time to exercise, as well as getting back into the routine of getting up early to take my daughter to school. I want to lose at least 5 lbs before my 40th birthday next month. The scale hasn't budged for me in quite awhile, so I am trying to do the best I can to fix that!
Below is this weekend's team challenge that I will be keeping track of here.

Wed 8/24 Biggest Loser Challenge (BLC17) Training begins! Weighed in 1 lb more than I was.
30 minutes on the elliptical on Intermediate 1 Level.
Cleaned, went to pharmacy for Rx's, allergy shot appt., visit to public library
Thur 8/25 BLC 17 Training TNT Thursday 50/50/50-completed 50 push ups, 50 crunches & 50 squats! Cleaned, went to daughter's speech therapy appt., stopped at an orchard stand for fresh fruits, stopped @ Dunkin Donuts so the kids could use their coupons from the library summer reading program, prepared for my daughters friend to sleep over that night.
Fri 8/26 No elliptical workout like I wanted to do. Got my daughter's friend packed up to go home with her Mom, went to the grocery store for a few things, started making ice and put most of the items on the floor in the basement off the floor in preparation for the hurricane.
Sat 8/27 30 minutes on the elliptical, wrote down most of what I have eaten today (this is a start for me, since I am t-e-r-r-i-b-l-e at recording my food). This day has really gotten away from me. Anxiety about this storm is to blame I think. I made a lot of ice and we have snacks and canned items. Just hoping we don't lose power for an extended period of time. I hope I'll be able to post tomorrow!
This was not the beginning to the BLC17 Training that I had hoped for, but I'm going to try to do better this coming week. There has just been too much going on. My 8 year old starts 3rd grade on Monday (crossing fingers it won't be cancelled due to flooding from the storm) and the yearly schedule will be falling into place soon. I'm kind of looking forward to more of a schedule again.
