Today was just one of those days where unexpected things happened and then the day got away from me. My 8 year old daughter was home from school again today because her asthma/allergies. So in the morning I did laundry while the girls played with blocks & Lincoln logs. I thought I was getting somewhere with the laundry and vacuuming, but then right before lunch I got a phone call from the man who is going to be replacing our pool liner. He said he was going to come TODAY to replace it. Well, I had to call my husband right away because we hadn't even taken the pool cover off yet! Luckily, my husband had already been scheduled to leave work early because he had planned on doing a few errands today, but his plans also got axed due to this pool liner installation.
About 30 minutes after the man called me, they were there and ready to get going. We did not want to tell them not today because then we would've been pushed to the back of the waiting list and the weather just changed into a soupy, humid air mass today. As a matter of fact our area in Eastern Pa is supposed to be in the upper 80's for the next 7 days! What happened to Spring?
So, all that said, I did not get in my cardio today, or my bootcamp exercises. I plan on making up the bootcamp video tomorrow and getting in my 30 minte elliptical. I will be helping out at my daughter's elementary school field day tomorrow in the sweltering heat. Luckily, the time that 2nd grade will be outdoors is from 9:15 until 11am. I plan on dressing for the heat though.

So after breakfast I started having digestive issues and spent the better part of the morning on my tummy in bed reading magazines. I had a light salad for lunch and decided I would get on the elliptical about a half hour after lunch. I started to feel better and decided that I would add 20 minutes to my elliptical workout for a total of 50 minutes....the most I've ever done! I then did my boot camp workout and felt great! I took a shower and was so glad I did not lay around for the rest of the day and instead accomplished something!
Somedays adding extra time isn't going to work, but today it did. And I am thankful for that! I never, ever thought I'd be able to last that long on the elliptical, but I did it!

So a few days ago a mom that I know from MOMS Club posted on my Facebook page that she thought she saw me at a grocery store the other day and asked if I was there @ that particular store @ that particular time. I replied that I was. Well, last night she replied back with this: "OK, so you look amazing!! Skinny Minnie! I didn't think you had a twin - but whatever you're doing is working!! :-)" . I have not seen this women face-to-face in about 2 years. She only sees whatever pictures I post of myself on Facebook, and usually that is just a head shot or far away shot. So, I guess the loss I have achieved so far is noticeable. The only place it is noticeable to me is on my sides and maybe a little bit around my waist. When I've measured with a tape measure it still reads the same as when I started working out. I will take a new measurement at the end of this month to see if there is a significant difference.
Today I feel 80% better than yesterday. I'm not great, but have more energy and in a much better mood. Instead of doing the Intermediate Level 2 workout on my elliptical today, I switched it up and did Target Tone 1, which I hate because it makes you pedal backwards....I hate that! But I did it. I did not burn as many calories, but my number of rotations was higher. I also did a bonus video for the bootcamp which I really enjoyed http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitnes

So. This has not been my week. It started out well, but started going down hill Tuesday and continues. It's that time of month. My IBS is acting up; I feel bloated & gassy. My allergies, mostly my eyes, have been bothering me, which held me back from exercising yesterday. I laid down yesterday & today for a small nap because I haven't been sleeping well and the night before last my 4 yr old had me up 1/2 the night because her allergies were bothering her (and she is my child who doesn't have allergies! That's how bad the pollen is around here.)
All that said, I did not want to fall even more behind on my Spring Into Spring Challenge. So I forced myself to get on the elliptical for 30 minutes and then did 2 of the bootcamp videos to make up for yesterday....all before dinner. I'm not 100%, but my stomach is feeling better. I truly think the exercising and floor exercises help my stomach. So I have to do cardio tomorrow & Saturday, along with 2 videos each day in order to stay on track with bootcamp. I am up to it as long as my body is up for it.
Sorry for theTMI-too much information in this blog post, but I'm so fed up with it and am trying to get the exercising to aide in my feeling well. The problem lies in not feeling well enough to exercise to begin with.

Today was odd. I did 4 loads of laundry, changed all the bed sheets, folded laundry (not all is put away yet), and then I started to feel lazy this afternoon and got lost on the computer. The time I should have been on the elliptical, I was online. I did make myself do the bootcamp video and was kind of relieved it was only 6 minutes long. As the day went on I felt more and more guilty that I did not get on the elliptical for some cardio. I could've just vegged out and did some more online vegging. But what I did instead was get on the elliptical at 7:30pm and did my highest #'s to date (beating my highest number from this past Sunday!) So my new number to beat is 1679 revolutions/590 calories burned. I felt the burn with the bootcamp video and the elliptical workout. So I am more than satisfied that I did not bow out and skip the cardio today. Tomorrow is the last day of week 1 of the Spring Into Shape BootCamp Challenge.......1 week down, 3 more to go!
