I just finished my elliptical & Day 5 SparkPeople 12-Minute Pilates Abs Video. That video was tough! It just makes me realize that when I do sit-ups and ab exercises on my own, I do not push as hard as when I do a video w/Coach Nicole! I felt the burn with those pilates ab exercises! As for doing 'planks', I hate them. I hated them when I did the 28-Day BootCamp Challenge and I hate them with this Spring Into Shape BootCamp Challange. If I find something too daunting I always try it first and then do the modified version she usually shows.
I had to push myself to exercise today. Honestly, I just wanted to get it out of the way. I felt guilty from yesterday because my walk with the dog didn't seem to push me as hard as when I do the elliptical. So since my 8 yr old is at school and my 4 yr old is at my Mom's house, I figured get my workout in before other things take over my attention. So that is what I did. Tomorrow I will finally do the Day 1 Video as my cardio, then I will be back on track.
Now, as for the rest of the day, my husband is getting out of work early so we can go look for the back-splash tile for our kitchen. We've finally picked out the cabinet color, countertop and flooring. All that is left is the backsplash tile. Yeah! Hopefully this will be chosen today and then we will just have to wait for all the materials until our remodeler can start the project. Our current kitchen cabinets are dark and from 1978. We bought our home in 2000 and waited this long to remodel the kitchen due to all the other renovations we needed to do (roof, windows, flooring, etc.) Also remodeling with babies is not fun, so now our kids are at an okay age for this to take place.

Wow! What a nice walk I had with my dog this afternoon. The three most surprising things to me were that my allergies were not bothering me, I did not feel winded and that my legs felt 'strong' when I was walking. I probably could have walked more but it's about 80 degrees and my dog was panting pretty hard (he'll be 12 in Fall and I do not want to push him over his limit, especially on a warm day). I did wear my pedometer (which I am not sure is working properly), but it recorded 1,151 steps. I went to this website: www.walk4life.com/customerservice/fo
rms_stridelength.aspx and figured out my stride (I did 16 steps in 30 ft). The stride came out to be 1'11" per the sites figures. So I plugged that stride length & # of steps from my pedometer and it totaled .4 miles. I walked for 35 minutes from 6th to 1st Street in a big square. Not sure if this is right. I could have sworn when I recorded this once before it was a mile.

So, I did not get in the elliptical, but a small walk. And I did the bootcamp video. It was a busy day, so I am okay with what I did accomplish.

Day 2 of Official Spring Into Shape BootCamp Challenge
Let me just say that the last thing I wanted to do today was exercise.
*I did not sleep well last night.
*I went to a new grocery store in our area this morning w/my 4 yr old.....headache.
*Came home, put groceries away, made lunch, cleaned up morning & lunch dishes.
*Took a break online for a bit and decided to do my elliptical & bootcamp video before I had to pickup my 8 yr old daughter from school.
*Had some IBS symptoms this afternoon (not fun).
So, I am proud of myself for even getting in the cardio on the elliptical and the bootcamp video. Tomorrow WILL be better!
