DC is a wonderful place for a vacation. So much history, like you said. I loved Ford's Theater and the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall. Not to mention the National Archives (saw the original Constitution and Declaration of Independence). Made me feel all-American!

You must have had a vacation and really enjoyed it. It is great when one can take time & do some relaxing and get in some history also. Best wishes.

I am not doing anymore work until vacation is completed!!

Wednesday, August 04, 2010

I decided that all can wait until I get back. I will spend these last few days getting plans together.
Took my youngest grandsons for two days of fun--we called it 'GOING FOR BROKE"
We did all the things that they could dream up--lots of laughter--plenty of imagination-and warm sweet smiles.
Better than I could have planed.

Put all the work aside, you bet and get those bags packed.
Itinerary figured out and saved in a safe place.
(So when do you leave? where are you going? and when will you be back?....Do I sound like somebody's mother?)

Have fun

have my ticket now

Friday, July 30, 2010

I have been making a list of what I need to pack---also need to remember to pack light.
Now, I need to work on getting that brick work finished!!
There is also more digging to do to get it level with the new steps --also I have to make the path a little wider to keep from cutting brick as much as possible.
I look forward to having an easy care back yard to go with my easy care front yard--it will be worth it!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I can use a few days doing nothing but riding. emoticon

Layers, Mary - pack as few things as possible that you can layer. And be sure to take a warm wrap. You never know what weather you might encounter and the bus is bound to be air conditioned.

MARY -- hey when you are finished with that brickwork - I have a path that needs to be completed at my place. emoticon
You are really working those muscles, and with your charts and plans for American cities YOU ARE WORKIN' OVERTIME.

Take care

going to Nimbus with the boys

Thursday, July 29, 2010

I am looking forward to the water and a bit of boating. The guys will get wet and run and play--fun to watch.
Sun, water, food, skateboards and guys are good.

I printed out a lot of info on places to go and a chart to calculate travel times in hours between popular American cities--should be helpful.

I am purchasing the ticket today---2 months for 500 and some dollars. I can get on and off at any point and stay as long as I want. Just what I want.

Hey the fair is having free coffee from Dunkin Donuts this week end at the fair entrance--just thought I'd let you know--I like FREE. Free is from 10 for a couple of hours.

I remember: " There is a difference between deciding & doing." emoticon emoticon

I know that you are going to have a great time at Nimbus! Getting wet on a summer day is the best.

I'm so excited for you and the wonderful tickets you found, it sounds like a great deal.

Oh, Yeah I could have used some coffee this weekend. To bad I waited so long to catch your blog.

Thanks for blogging :-)

I live here and am finding new places to visit!!!

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

I found a long lost niece at the fair!! She is room mates with another niece that I have not seen in 20 years. It will be fun catching up sitting on the deck and chatting.
I will be going a few places here in Ca. to begin my trip. I plan on a slow trip taking time in small towns to walk and talk to the locals. I must remember there is no RUSH. Chill. Every town has its story. Every person theirs. emoticon emoticon
