I am grateful for my family and that they are healthy!!
I am grateful for my ability to walk, talk, think, & communicate!!!
I am grateful for my warm house and coats.
I am grateful for the food in my cupboards and frig.

I have enough, thank you Lord.

Gratitudes, how sweet they are. We should all be more appreciative of what we have instead what we have not. Thank you for posting this Mary.

I remember when I could do that. I would spend all day digging through things and then come up with a real treasure that made it all worth while.

I must remember..

I was feeling a bit sad -- feeling I had failed--trying to be "real" then I read an article that made me think!!!!!!!!!
if you spend your time and energy obsessing about your slip-ups, or getting down on yourself:

That kind of useless self-abuse is just a smokescreen you are using to avoid your real responsibilities and opportunities.

It is the polar opposite of honest self-appraisal, no matter how “true” or “real” it might feel to you.

These may seem like harsh words, but getting past this problem is really critical to success.

save yourself a lot of grief, and learn how to keep things in perspective and avoid unnecessary drama.

Amen, I've given up being down on myself. There's enough people who would be glad to do that for me. I rather focus on the positive.

I always take the happy path. It's such a welcome site to see the good in the day rather than dwelling on the bad. Remember each day, the things for which you are grateful. When that red light turns green, just before you put on your brakes, be grateful for it. If you focus on the good, you'll be surprised just how much good there is happening to you. It will change your attitude and you're much more likely to stick with your eating and exercise goals.

SO happy that you saw the article. Sometimes we need to take another look at ourselves and see what we are really doing.

No snow---------------------------end DAY ONE--1850 calories--honest

Monday, December 07, 2009

I see on
TV the snow is everywhere--not here near 80 & Madison!!
Today is the day to think new thoughts and eat better & exercise again. My Bike needs a new part and it will take a few days to get it fixed. I will just have to stop using that as an excuse. I can do other exercises--I just had a good rythm going and have to get into another grove and go with it.
I hope you have a great day!! Thanks for the words of hope.

I saw snow early this morning near Calexpo & midtown (did milk run to Alhambra Safeway). The flakes were big & beautiful, but melted away quickly when they hit the windshield & wipers.

We got six inches of snow yesterday and 18 to 24 inches called for tonight through Wednesday. I love it.

We have had a few flakes today, but nothing staying on the ground. Hopefully it will still be snowing a little tonight. That would make it the perfect time for a walk. With all the Christmas lights up, the walk should pass by quickly.

Well it is not snowing here (darn) but it is raining, a nice steady rain which hopefully will give us some much needed moisture, we have been in a drought for so many years, that I pray it lasts for days, and then of course, I will pray that it stops, lol, but dont forego your exercise that is something that is so easy to put off, like my walks, (in the rain?)

I have been celebrating everything===all done with laughter and of course food.
It was great fun==weddings, and graduations. I love to watch as people succeed and grow in their lives.
So, now back to reality and that eating better issue and exercising again.
Wow. so close to Christmas and I still have much to do.

Back to day one on food and exercise. I blew today==Monday is but hours away a new day to paint as I chose.

Congratulations on all the stuff that you have to celebrate. OOps and Christmas is dropping in on us too. Time to reflect on how we can get thru this holiday without gaining.. emoticon
