Looking forward to the Game?

Sunday, February 05, 2012

I get too involved and excited to watch the whole game--so I try to only watch the last Half!!
Does anyone else do this??????
Wish me luck on not eating more junk-I am out of control on my eating--on a slippery slope.
I exercise yet I have a problem with the food part. Guess I need to learn to say STOP out loud and the words WALK AWAY from this sad way of dealing with pain~!!!!
Also, I will not use the EXCUSE of EMOTIONAL EATING to overeat anything.
I will go back to eating good protein, veggies, and a piece of good grain each day. I do well on this and look and feel better.

    Good for you! And about the game...didn't watch any of it. Even if I did, I wouldn't have a clue what was going

I couldn't watch the whole thing if I tried. Too many commercials and too much MUNCHING. . . Give me a cold bench seat in a local arena...with a warm jacket, a cuppa HOT COFFEE and a hot dog..
with some fresh air and friends - and high school kids in a scrimmage... that's football.

*and don't forget the high school band marching on the field.

Any miracle that Jesus did was when he was on the way somewhere and got interrupted by somebody. Make time for other people in your life.

~~~Succeed at home first
~~~let a child take you on a walk. Follow, don't lead.
~~ Make major decisions in a cemetery.
~~ When no one is watching-- live as if someone is.

THANKING GOD-- for the great times we had.
His laughter ---blue eyes--- the sweet young couple of years gone by who were so blessed to have a family!!
I am able to volunteer now--the tears still come when I hear a southern accent-- still tears over many wonderful memories--yet I am able to continue with my plan of one foot in front of the other and move forward--sometimes one step back yet I am making progress. I get a lot of exercise this way and have met some nice folks.
Because others have shared their stories I know this is another part of life--because they made it-- I know that I will to.
Thank you all for telling me your story and what helped you through the hard lonely nights and the feeling of being lost in the universe--alone.

  One of the things I love about SparkPeople is all the support that is out there for non-weight loss life issues. I am sorry you lost him, but I am glad you are still here on Spark. That 2 steps backwards, 1 step forward thing can burn a lot of calories. Hope you are doing 2 step forwards and 1 step backwards more often. :-)

    I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. It looks like you are healing, albeit slowly. Getting out and helping others definitely helps. I got through the first year of my separation (I know, it's NOT the same thing) by journalling but not online. I wrote and wrote and wrote in a book that only I had access to. Call it a diary, call it a journal, all I know is that it helped - a lot.

    It's the wonderful memories that help to keep us all going. I don't think the pain of loss ever goes away but you learn to handle it differently. Thinking of you.
