...patties on a dark misty spring morning! Today was the first day, due to temperature, or rain, or my schedule, that I was able to walk/run outside. It felt great! It was early this morning, 50 degrees, very foggy, and pitch black. There are no street lights in the country. I carry 2 flashlights, but that only lights the road directly at my feet. Actually I like it that way. I can't see the hills to mentally dread their arrival. I depend on my legs to tell me when I am going up or down hill. By that time, it's ok, I'm in a zone. In the complete blackness, the other senses are heightened. There was foggy mist in the air that felt refreshing on my face. I could hear the buzz of electricity as I passed each pole. And an occasional bird. The roosters were not up yet. And I actually like the smell of the cows. Makes me appreciate my country roots. When I am in the car, driving this route, with the kids talking, or the radio on, and the windows up, I miss all of this. It makes me more aware and appreciative of the smallest things...like cow sh*t.
