I am really bummed out. I gained 4 pounds this weekend, after losing 2 last week. I didn't eat badly either. I concentrated on veggies and just a bit of fruit. At a beach party, I had veggies and 1/2 BBQ hamburger--no mayo--just onion and tomato. I didn't eat olives or pickles which are high in sodium. Both a.m's I had a one egg omelet with veggies, no cheese. Lunch was munching on veggies--broccoli, cucumber, jicama, and a banana, blood orange, and watermelon. I walked A LOT of Friday and mostly in the dry sand--whew--but Sat. and Sun. very little exercise.
What the heck? What went wrong? I did the right amount of water every day!

As I've blogged befoe, 1 1/2 years on Spark I haven't lost any weight. But everything else is good. All my blood work is normal, cholesterol is under control, and blood pressure is normal. I'm eating right and exercising as best as my knees can go.
But I have something else to be glad about. My bone density has improved quite a bit. How do I know? I fell yesterday! I'm 65 years old and a woman and the fall I took should have done some damage. I was on a footstool and fell off onto the concrete. I landed right on my right hip and right elbow. I even lost my breath for a moment.
But, nothing is broken. Halleluiah! I'm am sore and bruised, but all bones are intact.
I know I have SPeople to thank for this!

KATHLICK!!!
THREE LITTLE BOYS were concerned because they couldn't get anyone to play with them
They decided it was because they had not been baptized and didn't go to Sunday school.
So they went to the nearest church. But only the janitor was there.
One little boy said, "We need to be baptized because no one will come out and play with us. Will you baptize us?"
Sure," said the janitor.
He took them into the bathroom and dunked their little heads in the toilet bowl, one at a time. Then he said, "You are now baptized!"
When they got outside, one of them asked, "What religion do you think we are?"
The oldest one said, "We're not Kathlick,
because they pour the water on you."
"We're not Babtis,
because they dunk all of you in the water."
"We're not Methdiss,
because they just sprinkle water on you."
The littlest one said, "Didn't you smell that water?"
They all joined in asking, 'Yeah! What do you think that means?'
"I think it means we're Pisskopailians!"

I have flowers, fruits, and veggies growing but you'd never know it was spring by the weather. It was 92 two days ago. It's in the low 80s today with a cold breeze. It's suppose to be 78 tomorrow and 68 the next day with rain. My two sons just took our pontoon boat to the lake to dock it for the summer and there's snow all over the ground. In fact, they had a snowball fight with the two little grandkids.
How can a person know what to wear. It's still snowing in the midwest and might snow in the Sierra!

Okay, here's the background. Every 1 to 1 1/2 , my DH "earns" a free trip somewhere. Of course, after we buy souveners, etc. we usually spend some of our own money. That's not the issue. We have taken trips to Hawaii, all parts of the CArribean, Mexican Riveriera, Alaska, and Europe. I have turned down trips to Australia, Hawaii, and a cruise to parts of Greece, Rome, and that region. The trips have not been wasted. Two were honeymoon trips for our daughter and son, one went to a valued employee, and one we received merchandise we need instead.
We are being offered another trip to Greece--fly over and take a cruise ship around. I'm not interested. I'm 65 years old and I'm perfectly happy with staying Calif/Nev. I've lived in Calif. all my life and I haven't even seen a small part of it because there is so much. I've been in the west, midwest, New England, and the south. I'm happy where I am.
I don't want to go to Greece. I know there's lots of history but it doesn't appeal to me. I don't want to see that part of the world. I've had a gastric bypass and food means nothing. I don't enjoy it. Small bites, yes; meals, no. I have had 2 knee replacements and don't want to spend hours each day walking around. My legs get too tired. I don't want to go.
I told my DH, because he loves to travel and eat and walk and everything. I told him to take our DS. He's 30, lives at home, has saved a lot of money, and loves traveling and trying new foods. What a traveling companion! DS is willing to go. Am I being selfish not wanting to go? Or am I just plain dumb?
