Quiet Day

I had a very quiet day at home today. I got my exercise in and my grandmother cut my hair. It is kinda cute. It comes to my jaw line. Will get mom to take a pict as soon as we can. Have been busy getting ready for my aunt to come. Barbara might be coming on Sunday. (If Tropical Storm Maria behaves herself! lol) Well, I am off for now.... Holly

Food Tracking

I started tracking my food yesterday. Thought it would be the best way to help me calculate my fiber and calcium for my Biggest Loser challenge. (Plus, I was thinking about it anyway for my 5% Fall Challenge.) I did fine on my fiber but was a little under on my calcium...Salt I don't want to talk about lol! I volunteer at the hospital, so it is hard to figure out what all is in my food...I just have to guess at it. Will try to remain in my limit for the rest of the week. Have a good one guys! Holly

    Good job tracking your food. It is challenging to track food that isn't prepared at home, but it is do-able.

    I'm in the same boat, struggling with getting enough calcium. Although I also have to work at getting enough fiber... guess I need to eat more whole fruits and veggies! Oooh, that just reminded me that I have Amazing Grass I should be adding to my morning juice.

Biggest Loser Challenge

I wanted to tell you about The Healthier You Challenge BL is starting tomorrow.
Each week we will be focusing on a new area to work on. Week 1 is going to be on Nutrition. The assignment is to chose to work on fiber, calcium, sodium, or all three and write a blog about it at the end of the week. Telling our team what we learned/how we did.. I have decided to track calcium and fiber. Calcium because osteoperosis runs
in the family. Fiber, well I just need to learn to eat the right amount of that to keep my body going! I'm hoping to learn new things, apply it, and help my fellow members as well!

    I'm encouraged by reading your blog. I chose calcium because osteoporosis also runs in my family and my own bones are beginning to thin a bit. I am taking supplements with D but need to focus on what foods besides dairy will best help me. I may do more learning than anything this week as my grocery shopping was done before the specifics came out but I'm off to give it my best as well. I know you will do well with the spirit with which you have begun the challenge!

Cats: Fall 5% Challenge

This is the last week of my Cats Summer Challenge. And I am suppose to tell you what I learned. Ok, I have learned that I need to 1) stretch before and after exercising. (You can get really sore when you don't stretch properly.) 2) Need to use support friends when having a bad day.... Finally, I need need to be tracking my food. Not just talk about it, but actually do it. That is why I am going to sign up for the Fall Community Challenge. I will be working on keeping track of my calories. And making sure I check in with my Cat team mates...I do believe that thing will start looking up!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other news: There is a possibility I will have a temporary part-time bookkeeping job.

Better Sleep: Final Day!

This is my fourth and final day! I do understand my sleep patterns now. Plus, I now know how to have a better night's sleep. So, here is my last sleep journal page.....

1.What time did you wake up today? 7:00 pm

2.What time are you lying down to go to sleep? 10:00pm
(I had the clock pointing at the wall so I don't know!)

3.What, if any, was your bedtime routine? Brush my teeth and vics

4.What were the last food(s) you consumed tonight? No Food past 7 pm

5.Did you exercise today? I did 58 minutes of exericse

6.Did you consume any alcoholic beverages today? I don't drink alochol.

7.Did you consume any caffeinated drinks or foods today?
I had two cups of coffee and two diet drinks...(Not before bed thank goodness!)


8.Did you take any medications (over the counter included)? I did take sleep aid last night. However, that has warn off now...No meds today.....

9.Did you take any naps today? Volunteered at library, no nap today....

10.What types of stressors did you encounter today, and what types do you expect to encounter tomorrow? Nothing stressful today...

11.How hungry did you feel today? I had normal hunger today....

12.How awake did feel today??? I felt fine today...

13.How irritable did you feel today? I felt a normal today .....
