I finally made it into Virgin Fat Territory!! I am sooooo thrilled!! I was down a pound this morning. What a struggle to even lose that pound and get below 266!!! I worked my butt off this week with my jump start eating and all the snowshoeing and walking I've been doing. 4 more days on the jump start so hoping for another pound or so. *fingers crosssed*

Doing a happy dance this morning!

February Update

Wednesday, February 04, 2009

I thought I would post a little update. Since the first of the year I've been doing really well and have concentrated a bit more on my efforts. But regardless of all that the scales haven't moved! I did manage to get off the 7 pound holiday gain which I am thrilled but I haven't been able to break through this point I'm at. I'm trying not to get discouraged but it's hard. I've been more diligent with my excerise and eating since the New Year.

Since the beginning of Feb. I'm doing the 9 day Fat Smash again (this is how I lost my 7 pound holiday gain) and I'm on day 3. I do like eating this way, it's so much lighter. Tons of fruits and veggies, no bread or white potatoes or snacky things, not even low fat/low cal. And no soda, not even diet. I can do it for the 9 days and be o.k. There is a next phase where you start adding back foods but that phase is pretty much what I do normally. So I'm working to get the scales to move and I'm confident I can do that this month!!

Wow, I can't believe how the scales just "stopped" a few months ago! Of course it's drifted up a few pounds but not down. I've done all things imaginable to get my body to start losing again with no luck. What I was doing last winter to lose is not working this winter. How long can a plateau last??

Besides all that, I am feeling good about the exercise I'm getting and my eating. So I will stick to my resolve and I WILL get the scales to drop!!!!

Hey Nancy! That does sound frustrating... but it sounds like you've got a plan to Bust on through to that VFT! You can do it! I'm glad you're getting in that exercise and feeling better - that's the main thing!

It is so hard not to get down about the scale thing isn't it? I'm pretty sure I'll be down to my ticker weight by friday, but, wow, over a month to correct a bad decision about the holidays. Maybe we need a little sunshine, do you think?

I know I feel much better for the last month, losing inches and gaining muscle mass, but it sure would be nice to lose some new weight.

Good luck on your diet and it sounds like you are getting in some walk time even in the winter, so that's good. We are going to get by this thing, Nancy, I just know it. The main thing is, I think, is to keep up your spirits so you can keep reaching any kind of small goal you set, even what you eat or how far you walk on each individual day. Once we can put a bunch of consistant sucessful days together, we might make something happen. Right now, I'm breaking things down to an hour at a time, just to deal with it.

I'm with you, my friend, Lucinda

While you gained weight over the holidays you successfully lost the weight! That counts in my book. I'm sorry you're having problems losing more weight. Hopefully your new way of eating will kick start things for you.
Good Luck,

Exercise Overload

Monday, January 19, 2009

Whew! I had quite an active day! I started out this morning and shoveled snow for almost an hour. Then after lunch I did 30 min. of yoga from a DVD I have. Later this afternoon DH asked if I wanted to go for a walk outside with him! So we walked for about 40 min. out on the road which was snow covered and a little slippery going up and down hills. I use to walk that route all the time but I was sure feeling it by the time we got back to the house! LOL It was a beautiful sunny day, temps only in the teens but little wind.

So, I got in lots of exercise today! Oh and I also got in my Sparks strength exercises too! I might be a little sore tomorrow since I am feeling it tonight but mostly my one bad knee and hip! My arm muscles are feeling it from the yoga.

WHEW!!!! But do I feel good!!

Great job, you may feel sore but it will be worth it. Just shoveling snow is great at burning those calories. Keep up the good work.

Great job, my dear. You may be a little sore tomorrow, but doing some gentle stretching might help some and of course a nice warm bath. Keep on blogging! I love your blogs! Your partner in health, Lucinda

Holiday Gain Gone!!

Saturday, January 17, 2009

Woohoo!! I've finally lost the holiday gain!!!! Wow that was so not worth it. I am not going to go through that again next year. The 6 pound gain was too hard to get back off. So I will come up with a plan next year to avoid putting myself through this. LOL

I'm just celebrating getting back to my ticker weight and now on to Virgin Fat Territory!!!

Goals And A Plan for 2009

Thursday, January 15, 2009

I'm a little late posting my resolutions for the New Year but I do have some. So here's 3 goals and a plan to acheive them.

3 GOALS FOR 2009

1 - Get back on track from the holidays and get serious losing again

2 - Eat healthier. That means more eating clean for me. More raw, less processed food and organic if possible (as the budget permits)

3 - Step up on exercise. A real challenge for me in the winter.

Don't Look Back! Forget about yesterday, last year, years ago, etc. It is the here and now that matters. The past is done and gone. From this day forward.

Concentrate on portion control - measuring portions again and no eye balling and sneaking up the portion sizes. Watch quantity even of healthy foods.

More organic and whole foods - Less processed, more raw, whole grains, basically clean eating. Follow the Clean Eating program once a month if needed to get back on track and reign in the bad habits that might sneak in.

Consistant exercise - My hardest challenge is to be consistent every day with exercise. Especially in the winter. There are lots of options, I just have to DO IT!

To be at my goal weight by the end of 2009 - this will be a reach but I want to set it as a goal to work towards.

Declutter my life! Including myself (all the garbage we carry around in our heads) and the house (lots of that in mine!) and whatever needs it.

Re-evaluate my plan once a month and revise it if needed.

Be Kind To Myself! And don't beat myself up when I stumble.

Sucess Will Be Mine in 2009!!!

Great blog, Nancy. I agree with everything you are saying. Removing the garbage in our lives will make it a lot easier to set good and simple goals. And build good and simple habits.

Best wishes, your friend Lucinda
