UPDATE...

Saturday, May 26, 2012

Wow, I can't believe this is my first post this year. I re-dedicated myself to getting healthy in March and things have been goin pretty good, except for a two week eposiode of bronchitis but all better now. I found that not only do I enjoy my almost daily walks but they put me in a better mood. I have will admit though, that I have a fear of getting on the scale. Just the possiblity of the scale not showing progress is scary. Lately, I have been going thru my closet pulling out and trying on my skinny clothes (**clothes that are too small but I just refuse to throw out**) and there have been a few pieces that I can now fit into with ease. emoticon

During this month I have added a few things to my fitness schedule, I found a great morning Zumba class in my area and I have enlisted the help of Youtube. Let my tell you if your not sure about dropping alot of money on excercise dvd's or goin to classes check it out.

So I have decided to make June 15th my offical weigh in day. I am hoping to see those numbers drop just a little but if not I still take pride knowing that some of my skinny clothes now fit

2 Week BodyBugg update

Saturday, November 05, 2011

It have been actively using my Bodybugg for 2 weeks now.. and I Love It !! I cant hardly wait to upload my information everynight so I can see how well or not well emoticon
I have done for the day.

When I was first told about the bodybugg system I was like I'm not paying all that for that, and that was earlier this year. I started tracking the V3 system on ebay trying to find a deal. I would like to take a moment to just to say bidding/ winning items isn't always the best thing to day. I was very fortunate to catch a promotional deal via bodybugg.com and purchased my system for $99 reg. $179 and of course it came with a 6 month subscription. When I was depending on an auction site to purchase my device I could have easily spent $140- $150 subscription not included. I'm just saying

Okay, but when i upload my bugg and I can actually see or atleast have some general idea of how many calories I have burned and steps taken, It helps me to set goals to be more active the next day to increase my numbers..... Almost funny i'm competing with myselft everyday.

CONS:
1. arm strap is not wide enough... (a bigger arm needs a wider strap so that it will not roll up and bind around the bigger arm)
2. arm becomes a lil tender/sore under the device

But other than that I am so very pleased with my purchase

Fast Food = Lots of CALORIES

Friday, November 04, 2011

I just thought I would share the lesson I learned yesterday. I was up and out of the house early yesterday and fresh outta of slim fast (my current breakfast of champions #this week anyway) so before I knew where the time had gone it was about 11am. So I had been up since 7am without any food or beverage. I was cruising my favorite Good Will store, and was just plain hungry. As I was exiting I was instantly drawn to the McDonald"s next door......

I begin to bargin and rationalize in my mind ( hadn't had breakfast and no lunch) Before I could hear any voice of reason there I stood in line ordering 1-double cheeseburger w/no pickles & Medium fries & an Apple Pie & to wash it all down 1 Large tea (you know the $1 big cup). The thought neva thought my mind of all those calories (because I really wanted a Big Mac but opted for what I thought was the more safe choice)

I later was shocked cause I had blown almost all my calories for the whole day on those few items. my damage was 1000+ calories not even counting the sweet tea..

Lesson Learned !!!

I now carry a slimfast & Special K snacks in my purse and If I have to drink it at room temp I will (without hesistation)

I totally know where you are coming from. Before I became a vegetarian i would rationalize the fast food choices I made. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chipotle and I would go there thinking "I didnt have breakfast and I could have steamed vegetables and a salad for dinner so I can totally have a big lunch, plus you should eat heavier earlier in the day than at night..."

I recently went to chipotle to get a craving fix and had the vegetarian tacos on corn tortillas with black and pinto beans, fajita veggies, tomato and corn salsa on the side, and the guacamole on the side. (no rice, no cheese, no sour cream). I ate all 3 tacos, plus my left over salsa and guac I mixed together and ate as is. It was about 600 - 700 calories which sounds like a lot but I also got 3 servings of veggies and a ton of protein and fiber out of that meal with hardly any carbs! For curiosity sake I went to check how many calories my usual order at Chipotle would be. Back in the day I would normally order a chicken burrito, with rice, black and pinto beans, fajita veggies, corn salsa, tomato salsa, salsa verde, sour cream, cheese, a side of chips, guac, and corn salsa. I would inhale ALL OF IT. I was floored to find out that my average chipotle "lunch' was over 2000 calories.

Good job on carrying healthy alternatives with you, makes it much harder to give in to the temptations lying around the office. I usually try to have string cheese or a yogurt in the office fridge!

Just jebberish

Sunday, October 30, 2011

Well, this past week has been very normal, I had good days and I had not so good days. In my mind I keep going back to the same formula less calories in and burn more calories out. How could something so simple be So so hard to do. I will continue my journey forward throughout next week. I am on week two with this bodybugg, and It is time to see more calories burned. I will not be weighing till Wednesday morning so I will be pushing hard on Monday & Tuesday just for good measure. It is such a great feeling to see the numbers creeping downward.
