Title Jim, Sent by sonia

Friday, July 18, 2008

May 22.
This was sent to me by my best freind that I have know for 40 years now WOW I am old huh..lol....I wanted to share it with you all in this team. I hope that you liked it. Hugs Sonia

A minister passing through his church
In the middle of the day,

Decided to pause by the altar
And see who had come to pray.

Just then the back door opened,
A man came down the aisle,

The minister frowned as he saw
The man hadn't shaved in a while.

His shirt was kind a shabby
And his coat was worn and frayed,

The man knelt, he bowed his head,
Then rose and walked away.

In the days that followed,
Each noon time came this chap,

Each time he knelt just for a moment,
A lunch pail in his lap.

Well, the minister's suspicions grew,
With ro bbery a main fear,

He decided to stop the man and ask him,
"What are you doing here?"

The old man said, he worked down the road.
Lunch was half an hour.

Lunchtime was his prayer time,
For finding strength and power.

"I stay only moments, see,
Because the factory is so far away;

As I kneel here talking to the Lord,
This is kind a what I say:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM
CHECKING IN TODAY."

The minister feeling foolish,
Told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome
To come and pray just anytime.

Time to go, Jim smiled, said "Thanks."
He hurried to the door.

The minister knelt at the altar,
He'd never done it before.
His cold h eart melted, warmed with love,
And met with Jesus there.

As the tears flowed, in his heart,
He repeated old Jim's prayer:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
I DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT

I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY"

Past noon one day, the minister noticed
That old Jim hadn't come.

As more days passed without Jim,
He began to worry some.

At the factory, he asked about him ,
Learning he was ill.

The hospital staff was worried,
But he'd given them a thrill.

The week that Jim was with them,
Brought changes in the ward.

His smiles, a joy contagious.
Changed people, were his reward.

The head nurse couldn't understand
Why Jim was so glad,

When no flowers, calls or cards came,
Not a visitor he had.

The minister stayed by his bed,
He voiced the nurse's concern:

No frie nds came to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.

Looking surprised, old Jim spoke
Up and with a winsome smile;

"the nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,
That in here all the while

Everyday at noon He's here,
A dear friend of mine, you see,

He sits right down, takes my hand,
Leans over and says to me:

I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP,
AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN.
ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,
I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY,
AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS
CHECKING IN TODAY."

If this blesses you, pass it on
Many people will walk in and out of your life,

But only true friends will leave
Footprints in your heart.

May God hold you in the palm of His hand
And Angels watch over you.

But for those of us who are already His, He not
Only holds us in the palm of His hand, but has
Engraved our names there, and we are continually
In His sight (Isaiah 49:16

winner's

WINNERS take chances. Like everyone else, they fear failing, but they refuse to let fear control them.
WINNERS don't give up. When life gets rough, they hang in until the going gets better.
WINNERS are flexible. They realize there is more than one way and are willing to try others.
WINNERS know they are not perfect. They respect their weaknesses while making the most of their strengths.
WINNERS fall but they don't stay down. They stubbornly refuse to let a fall keep them from climbing.
WINNERS don't blame fate for their failures nor luck for their success.
WINNERS accept responsibility for their lives.
WINNERS are positive thinkers who see good in all things.
From the ordinary, they make the extraordinary.
WINNERS believe in the path they have chosen, even when it's hard, even when others can't see where they are going.
WINNERS are patient. They know a goal is only worthy the effort that is required to achieve it."

YOU ARE A WINNER!!

I'm on of those people that if I let my guard down for a few days it's hard for me to recover and get back on track, but here I am, ME in my on personal HALL OF SHAME. No I'm not feeling sorry for myself ! ! To make wrong choices is part of life, But to live in them is a whole different story. For all of you paryer warriors out there Please keep me in your prayers, I need all the help I can muster!!!!

when I started this journey my weight toped out at 267lbs. I joined sparkpoeple at 262lbs. The difference with SP is amazing. I actually eat more and don't get hungry before lunch break...WOW what a change !! I'm now down to 244.5lbs. I can honestly say that even a this weight I have more energy. I'm on my feet 8hrs a day and it sometimes takes a toll on my energy level by the end of the day. But now I come home and cook most of the time after work, and feel like cooking!! There's great changes taking place in my life. Make that choice and change your too, the results will be LIFE CHANGING! W1

something new

Friday, January 18, 2008

something new is happening to me..I don't feel discouraged any more. There's a new LIFE over the horizon. It meets me with each passing day, with every pound I lose. The hope that once was lost has now resurfaced into a BRIGHT NEW FUTURE for me. One without embarrassment of what people are thinking when they look at me, or the shame I feel when I see my friends or family that I haven't seen in a while. I'll meet them with a smile of self confidence that they've not seen in years!!! If your feeling discouraged...look up because today is your opportunity to do something for your self that will make a NOTICABLE difference in your life!!!
