Thursday, August 19,2010, Had an exciting Day, yesterday!

Thursday, August 19, 2010

I have been trying to locate, a first cousin, of mine, for many years. Well, yesterday I found her! Yahoo! Also her four children, four more cousins, and there children, 7 more cousins.

So a dozen cousins, from one first cousin! Also, rec'd. the phone number, of another first cousin, which will lead, to many more found cousins.

We had 49 first cousins, when my grandma passed away, in 1966, and 109 second cousins, we use to hold family reunions, but after she passed, it only lasted a few more years.

Then in 1994, with the passing, of my dad, the last of 15 children, was laid to rest.

There was many marriages, many many moves, phone numbers changed, immediate family problems, and poor health, so contact ceased to exist.

So today, I share the hope, of meeting these cousins, again, and catching up, and sharing stories with younger family members. It is easier when, they get to meet and know each, other, I believe.

I am happy!

Hugs and Success to all, in more ways then one, in whatever you endeaver to accomplish in your lives!

Onward & Downward
Hugs Linda

It's great to get in touch with cousins. Mine were very important to me as I was an only child, but as you grow up you go your separate ways. I'm now in touch with several again, especially the oldest whom I meet every couple of months with his wife. He's lovely, and just the same as he always was when we were young.

I'm excited for you and all your cousins!! I know I have lots and lots of cousins, but we sure don't get together very often...now you've inspired me to do something about that!

Wonderful. My husband's family is doing something similar and actually planned a reunion this October. In anticipation of that my husband found a site where he was able to create a fairly sophisticated family tree...and members of the family are adding to it...Let me know if you want me to ask him the site and send it to you. I think it will add some context to your efforts to re-connect.

Oh, Linda!!! You will meet if you try hard enough!! I know because I was the little sister that was discovered by a big brother 10 years ago!!

Just as you have been searching for 1 cousin and found many, my half-brother (Bob)had been searching for his dad, (my dad), and found me!!! I always knew about Bob. His mom and OUR dad were married during WWII. Long story short, they divorced and Bob moved back to England with his "Mum"!

Bob found out our Dad had died in 1972........but the good news is he found little ol' me!!! (he had no idea he had a little sister!!! For the last 20 yrs. he has lived in L.A. and before that London, Hong Kong,& Greece! I have lived in a tiny town in E. TN most of my life. Anyway, the condensed version is that he has bought a house on the same lake as me--less than 1/2 mile away!!!

I hope you guys try really hard to get together!!!! How wonderful~~~~~~!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 My Blog AM I READY?

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Success and complements sometimes throws me, for a loop. So, I try to quietly reach new goals, so I can grasp it, long enough to claim it as mine, so I can keep it, until, I hit a lower number, I'm trying something new for me, I'm trying to claim each weight as I reach it, before I hear about the rewards of it,because I know they affect me the wrong way.

I hereby claim my lost this week, as mine alone, let it be mine, please, & thank you

Hugs Linda

You may have your alone time with your loss! You worked for it, you deserve it. But I will be jumping up and down and having my own little private party for you!

(thank you for all your kindness!)

Hi Beautiful Butterflies

Just want to say, how excited I am for the team, we are soaring the skies, accumulating many points (miles) for exercise equaling miles traveled. This is really a challenge, for me to do, I am not use to exercising, due to many health problems, but with Sparks and these challenges, I have been able to increase, them dramatically. Actually going from like 5 minutes a day, to between 30 & 40 minutes, a day, NOT all at once, but five or ten minutes, at a time, and I feel it. It's a good feeling knowing I can do it, some days.

I wish I could give each member, personal time, but my mind forgets, and at times, I sit around being bored, I try and send out a personal message to someone, someplace on Sparks, almost everyday. I think this is good, because I
know, how good I feel, when I receive encouragement, from another, It doesn't matter, who they are, they found something to contact me about, and I feel on top of the world, for a few minutes, so let's help to make someone's day special for them, if you have time, or thought to do so.

Have a Good Night or a Good Day, depending on when you read this!

Onward & Downward Butterflies
Hugs from Linda your weight leader

Friday's Blog for 10 Points

Friday, June 18, 2010

I'm doing it for the Butterfly Team, today. It's coming off the top of my head

talking about top of my head, I just realized, this head needs washing, and setting and looking nice, again. odd how these things get away from you when other things are on one's mind
my hands need tended to also. nails soaked, filed, painted, oh my. What color should I choose? Will have to think about that, I just noticed they needed done. lol

catching up on some vacuuming today, might do a little reading this evening, to pass the time.

Wishing everyone to get into an exercise mood and claim those points. Remember we have good habits developed now, so don't let them go, we don't need to claim them in points, but we do need to do them for better life and better health. Here's hoping we have them all down pact, by now. I think we do.

Are you claiming them? I am!

Why is it so easy to get out of the exercising mode?! I am tired today, and exercising sounds like torture right now.

My Grandson, Alex

Thursday, June 17, 2010

was in surgery from 11:30-7:00PM, yesterday, but fortunately they were able to do the easier surgery, there was a surprise when they looked in the camera on the right side of his body, (the microscopic size thymus gland, which grew to the size of a kidney bean a month, ago, grew to the size of a baseball in one month, they never seen this happen before and had to have a consult with doctor from the adult side of hospital before proceeding, well they increase the size of the hole they were going to remove it from, got it up to it, then poked it and drained it, on the outside of the body, and removed the very large flat piece of substance, filled with cyst, which went to pathology, to be examined (will get results later), well adult side doctor advised them to go to the left side of the body with a camera to see if there was anything, that had to be removed from that side, and there was, a fatty straggley piece,(also being sent to pathology) closed him up, and moved him into ICU. He was still completely asleep, when I talked to his mom last night.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers and prayer chains, they certainly helped! I will keep you posted.

I turned to food yesterday to comfort me, but I forgive myself, it is what I know. I will go on from here, hopefully I am calmer today and can think and make better choices.

Hugs
Linda
