I was picked up, at my apartment complex by a very nice man all dressed in a black suit, black shirt and white tie, he took my hand and led me to the longest limo, I have ever seen in my life. It could have held fourteen people, but it was just me me, myself & I. There were beautiful leather seats up the left side and around the area behind the driver (my date). I inches my way to that area, while looking all around beautiful blue lights running from front to back along with tiny white lights once in awhile, soft music playing, and a bar area available, across the the seat, I mentioned, A seat across the whole back and another in between. An opening to be able to talk with the driver.
We went up the road to the East, people on the sidewalk was looking, trying to see who was in the long limo. The windows were darkened, so to no avail. It was private. lol We talked getting to know each other, as we just met, in person, when he picked me up.
We went to a restaurant neither of us had been to, before. He said," I hope this will be a special place, with good food." His wish came true, we dined like royalty. Steak on a Stone, heated to 750degrees, veal sneazzle, oh my gosh, the veal is spiced just right and the steak was so tender, cooked bite at a time, on the stone. He ordered many sides, so it was like a personal buffet. Just so special!
The conversation flowed freely! I thought we were gone for hours, taking our time savoring each bite, absorbing each other, learning so much. We had two boxes (1 each) to take home, then he ordered dessert. When he was finished, he said he would warm up the limo, and pull it to the door and would be back in for me. Me being me, got a bit concerned, because he hadn't paid the check, yet. Good to his word, he entered again, and a release and a smile formed on my lips. This man is fine! We walked out together, he took my hand, again and opened the door and made sure I was back in safely.
We talked the whole way home, and he walked me to the door, telling me we would be seeing each other again, if I wanted to see him again. I said," I would like that very much, I enjoy your company and the dinner." He held the door open, I said Good Night, and turned around and left.
I heard from him this morning and I think we will see each other, again. I have a smile that isn't going away, too soon!
By the way, I wore a black knee length, V neck dress and black shoes. It is one of the smaller size dresses, I purchased recently, but only tried on, waiting for that special occasion, to wear it. It came sooner then I expected and I felt great!

Been a member of sparks for over two years and have lost weight and have a new outlook, on life.
Sparks has been rewarding to me in many ways: at Sparks the Light Bulb turned on and told me:

In the mean time:
Drink half your weight in ounces of water a day and in protein a day (w/drs. approval, of course)
Eat between 25-35 grams of fiber a day (18 years of age and over)
(younger go by age and add 5 ) example 7 year old would need 7+5=12 grams a day
Remember nuts and seed servings daily: nuts 6-8, seeds 1/4cup, nut butters 2 Tablespoons

Two years ago, today. I JOINED Sparks!
Two years, later: I have 99 Spark Friends!
I have 55 Less Pounds, to carry around!
I found what works and how to work it, for me!
I am proud to be a Spark Member, and I am a different person then I use to be. I am in control, of what I am doing and I have a plan. I am working toward 180 lb. weight goal, and I know, I will reach it!
I can now take care of my own apartment, take care of myself. I am able to shower, dress and put on my shoes. That feels so good, being dependent, enough to do this!
I have been able to get off of oxygen, completely and I am looking forward, for a dramatic, change in the medicines, I need to take. I no longer use a walker, cane, or power lift chair, for rising up and walking!
I followed the blood type diet, for Type O, then the Genotype (I am a Gatherer) and recently, was able to invest in a SWAMI which is a personal diet, with my genetics, my family medical history, my blood type, and measurements and fingerprints, all considered. This is the other group, along with Spark People, that has enabled me to go from 372.75 to 255.0 since 2005.
The challenges, encouragement, motivation, comments, articles here, was the extra boost I needed, to pull this all together and make this possible!
Thank you Spark Man, his Team, My Teams and My friends and Family, were in this together and together we shall succeed.
Each time I read a success from a member, I feel excited, I feel inspired! Life is Good and I'm ALIVE, to live it, that is what I am most thankful for.

First I want to Thank All The Leaders for all the help they give, to make these challenges work!
Second I want to encourage everyone, when your team is formed and you read a blog from a team member, subscribe to it, that way you know what is happening with other people on your team. Especially, as a weight leader, this has helped me learn from them and post information they may be able to use!
Third I encourage you when you read another team's blog or another member's blog that interest, you subscribe to it. This keeps us connected!
Fourth- Remember comments are welcomes and appreciated and encouragement, for most everyone who receives them and reads them.
Fifth- It is so much fun to receive a surprise spark goodie! Even if it is one to say I'm thinking of you at this moment, I send this to you. Sometimes life is busy and I don't always look at my spark page, so finding out I have something to see or read, brings me there.
These 5% challenges, are so much a bonus, in my life, I have connected with this attitude, for trying to lose 5% every eight weeks and I have lost at least 48 lbs, I think more, but I threw some back challenge information away, before I was a leader. So a heads up to new members, record your starting weight (first challenge someplace special you will keep, maybe add the date and the year) It will help later!
I wish everyone a very successful 5% weight off challenge! Were in it to get to a healthy weight, a better way of living life, and a happier disposition!
