SoÖ. Here I amÖagain! This is now my third or fourth return to the Sparkpeople site since my initial beginning, which was well over a year ago. My friends have seen me come and go, and when I go, I usually stay gone for long periods of time.
I still donít know why I left the first time. I could say that real life grabbed a hold of me and kept me too busy to check in, or that I was very sick for several weeks, or that I killed my back and was laid up for a couple of days. I could say all of the above mentioned, but that should be no reason to be gone so long. By the way all these things did happen, which is beside the point! Anyway, hello again!
So, why have I returned? 1.) Because I need to get back into the ďswingĒ of getting healthy again, and 2.) Because I made a lot of friends here. And, I donít think you just drop friends and walk away. I knew that I needed to return and continue to reach my weight loss goal and I know I need my friends to help me do that!
So, what have I been up to? Oh, about a gain of 15.8 lbs. Last year, before my first disappearance, I had lost a total of 30 lbs. (last weigh in 5/23/2010 = 180.4). Today, I weighed in at 196.2. My original starting weight was 210 lbs. I think, however, the lowest I had gotten in my weight was 176 lbs. then began rocking up and down (plateau). I tried to lose the last 10 lbs. but just kept struggling to do it, with no success. I could see that I needed to lean out a little more, but it didnít happen. Now, I was sitting here today, noticing the weight Iíve regained and Iím not overly disappointed in myself, only gaining 15 lbs. back after over one year, I donít think is too bad, but I would like to get back to my workouts and get it gone. I remember how I felt when it was off. I was more energetic and more confident. I could use that back.
I will probably concentrate on my cardio for now, than weight training. I think I have a decent muscle build, now I just want to work on slimming so I can see that muscle. Then if I feel I want to ďbulk-upĒ more I will. The only issue about workouts right now is this ďkillerĒ Texas heat. Weíve been in a drought for several months and this weekend will be no different with temps in 100ís Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. So, getting outside to do any running or even walking will take some serious ďpsychingĒ up.
Anyway, aside from being sick for weeks on end and throwing my back out, Iím okay! Iím back to being mobile and Iím doing fine. I hope all who read this can forgive me for going M.I.A. Iím really sorry!
Itís great to be back! And, oh yeah, the rabbits are doing FANTASTIC!

Two bodies lying upon the den floor enjoying the current moment. The glow of the television is the only source of light within the room, creating a safe, pleasing and comforting ambiance. All cares of the past, the present, and the future, seem to be elsewhere. Each, just enjoying being with the one they love.

Well maybe it's not Rabbit Season, but there are rabbits!
This is just a little update on the two rabbits found hopping to and fro in my yard a while back.
As you can see, they have become best of buds and when they're free to run about the house, you will always find them together.
Rarely do they rest when out of their cages. This is one of those rare wildlife moments captured on film...take it in!

Wow! I havenít realized itís been SO long since my last blog entry! Has it really been that long? I have not been on my game at all, ďGood grief,Ē as Charlie Brown would say.
As mentioned, I havenít been on my game. Maybe I have, I've just changed a few of my rules. I have pretty much given up on logging my calorie intake. One day I decided that the need to log my intake was unnecessary, now that my eating habits have changed, so I thought I would test without logging and see how I do. Iím doing well.
At the current moment, Iím teetering between 178 lbs. and 180 lbs. At last weigh-in, yesterday, Sunday, I was at 179 lbs., up one pound from whatís on my weight ticker on my SP page.
I continue my strength training by combining the use of dumbbells and the Bowflex together. I feel with certain exercises I get a better burn from the use of dumbbells, and other exercises, I get a better burn from the use of the Bowflex. By combining the two, I get a better ďfeelĒ from a workout.
My main source of cardio continues to be gained by running, via coaching my wife and son with the C25K program. My wife has voiced an interest in wanting to run with me but needs the program to buildup her cardio and stamina. My son on the other hand, has decided to join the Coast Guard and has to meet a certain physical criteria. He is an avid gamer and has never been subjected to, or forced to perform serious exercise. Seeing as he has a 6-9 month waiting period before entering into the Guard, I have time to work with him. I might add though, he does very well on the running part of the program. Of course my son stands 6í 01í at 154 lbs. with 7.6% body fat and has a running stride equal to that of a giraffe!
After completing the C25K program, Iíll be back to my usual running schedule, my son will be able to meet his running requirements (Run 1.5 miles in 12:54) for the Guard, and my wife will be able to run alongside me on runs , which will thrill me to no end!
Life has been keeping me from being as active as usual on the site, but Iím not gone! I still leave signs of life here and there, I just have a lot of projects going on. My son is going into the Guard, house duties (A/C issues), work, Oni-Con (Anime) costumes to plan for the convention in October, yada, yada, yada!
Anyway, donít lose hope in me. I hope all of you are enjoying the Summer, not so much the heat, but the Summer. Be careful in the heat, and be good to your bodiesÖitís the only one you get!
