Working Out Makes ALL the Difference!!!!!

Tuesday, July 09, 2013

I know this.... we all know this. Yet, we still try to take short cuts.... we don't have time, we don't have stamina.... whatever the excuse it.
After I won a weight loss challenge at work, I put the money that I won towards a personal trainer. I've been a member at my gym for a year.................. and I never set foot in the place. Not even once! I was intimidated and just didn't know where to start, so I didn't.
Having a trainer has been wonderful! I have a scheduled time to go each week which makes me go. I don't want to disappoint him because I know that I have to weigh-in in front of him so I make sure to eat right. I feel stronger, look better, and have WAY more energy. I've lost 9 pounds in a month... that doesn't sound like a lot but I've lost inches and gained muscle.
Total weight loss: 36 pounds
Only 24 more to go! Gosh... that feels great! :)
I took some "before" pictures when I started with the trainer. I need to take some "during" tonight to compare and then some "after" when I'm done with him in 2 weeks.

FEELING AWESOME! :)

This is awesome! In the past I've had great success working with a trainer, if only for the accountability of getting to the gym and wanting to be a "good client." :-) Keep up the great work!

Side by side Pic... One year difference

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

On the left: me at my brother's 30th birthday party last may.
On the right: tonight at a graduation party.

Just when I'm feeling down and I am feeling like I haven't made any progress, I remembered that I took pictures in the same shirt a year ago. I love seeing it in a side by side! I've lost 26 pounds so far and still have 30 to go...... But seeing a pic like this helps. :)

Thanks everyone! I told my husband last night that I need to print and frame the picture and display it in my pantry and on my fridge. :) I need a reminder to NEVER get to that weight again! It's scary how fast it can creep up without you really realizing it.

Thank you all for the encouraging words! emoticon

Side by side comparison

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

So I was feeling pretty good when I lost 13 pounds and cound fit into an old pair of shorts. Now I'm down 27 pounds so I wanted another picture. I'm in the same shirt. I'm kind of bummed that there's not a huge difference. Yes, I see a difference, just not a huge one. Oh well...... I'm looking forward to the next picture opportunity. :)

Your whole SELF looks smaller! You are lucky to lose so proportionately - great job working hard BEFORE the holidays!! I was so happy to see that you're still here & kicking :))

Thanks. :) I sometimes take a picture of myself on a feel good kind of day... and then immediately delete it b/c I look fat in it. ;) We truly are our own worst enemies! I showed my 9 year old daughter the before/after pic and she was impressed. It was sweet.

I sure see a big difference! Good job! Thats a lot of weight gone. I, too, don't see it on myself - someone said it takes a year to see 25 lbs lost. emoticon

Holy Cow, I DEFINITELY see a big difference! You've done a great, great job, so just keep pushing. Even when you can't see it, others surely can.

You might not see a huge difference, but I do! I think we all suffer from blindness when it comes to ourselves. I don't always see much difference in my progress pictures, but everyone else seems to!

Way to go!

Hurricane Isaac

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

This is the longest hurricane EVER!!!!!!! I usually enjoy hurricanes.. It means me and my family huddled inside playing games for a day or two with a couple of days off of school. This time, however, we're going a little stir crazy and the storm promises to continue for at least another 24 hours. Thankfully we still have electricity but probably not for long.

Basically, stitting inside with "noperishable" foods = weight gain! Three straight days of it isn't good. :)

PTL that we are all safe with no current damage to our home. I guess I'll just have a little more to love on after this is all over!

Thanks everyone! Isaac is officially gone so now the clean up begins (talk about cardio!). We didn't have too much damage. We lost one tree and a LOT of limbs but that's small potatoes compared to other parishes around us (I'm in Baton Rouge). Many people are dealing with severe flooding and the rivers aren't expected to crest until next week. Still pray for those who stand to lose everything.

Here, I never even lost electricity! I don't think that's ever happened to me during a hurricane. We're usually out at least three days. Honestly, the most damage that was done at my house........ was to my waist line. I'm up 5 pounds. :((((((( I'm definitely not going to reach my "shrink" goal by labor day but today's a new day!

Now that the yard is done, I'm getting ready to head to the LSU game. Thanks for checking on me ladies!

Sara, good luck with all of the rain! Hopefully it won't stay on top of you for 3 days like it did us! We missed 4 days of school for it so we'll have to make a couple up. :(

Rats, I just saw this. Haven't been too sparky lately, since I work at the school and we started back up last week.

How did you make it through the storm? I hope without too much flooding, and too much bloat!

We are still waiting for Iasaac up here in Northern IL!! Man, you're right! He is SLOW!! Still lingering about an hour or two south of us, creeping this way.
