Just couldn't have salad for lunch today so had a sandwich and several fries. I removed about 1/2 of a bread slice, and didn't finish the fries. Small steps. I had two glasses of water (1 more than yesterday) and will have another tonight. Lazy for dinner and ate a banana and 2 hot dogs w/buns, but again probably didn't eat the equivalent of a bottom on one bun. Not my best day, and certainly not my worst. I wonder what I would have consumed on the worst eating day in my life? I've got to motivate and get my hair colored tonight. My husband said I looked like a skunk (nice, huh). So, I'll do better tomorrow because tomorrow is another day.

    Tomorrow is indeed another day. Thanks for your comments in my blog. Looks like we're both in the same boat trying to build some good eating habits, which can be challenging. Sometimes it's hard to remember that one meal, or even one day doesn't have to throw you completely off. You can eat "bad" one meal, and make up for it the next . . . although sometimes if you're "bad" enough, you need a couple of good meals to make up for it.

I like the small steps approach, it's much less daunting.

I was so excited to get up and weigh. I almost forgot and drank a few slips of coffee -- then worried that would make me heavier (crazy, huh). Well, got on the scale and I had lost 5 lbs. That made me happy. I won't expect that every week, but I'm headed in the right direction. Now I must drink my water (easing into this one) and exercise (I keep saying that). I have a new friend on Spark and we're hoping to encourage each other to exercise. I'm excited about that. Good day!!!!!

Doing wash, cleaning oven, online (this is good). I've got to figure out what to do today. I should go to the gym (I should be saying - I will go to the gym), but I haven't got there yet. Didn't pig out by myself last night which was good. Had a little handful of fat free gummy bears -- better than chocolate. Hope my week goes well and can't wait to weigh in tomorrow and enter my new weight. I've got to Spark this week. My dear best friend from 7th grade (lots of years of friendship) is coming this weekend and can't wait. So I have a lot of look forward to.

    Thank you for the encouraging words on my blog. I really appreciate it! I think, all the encouragement I keep getting is what keeps me so motivated! I too have a best friend from 7th grade, it is always a great time to hook up. Enjoy it! Sounds like you are having the same problem I am, getting motivated in an exercise routine. We will have to check on each other in that area and hold each other accountable. Maybe that will help!

You left a mesasge on my blog entry last week and I wanted to say thank you! It's my first blog and you're the first person to comment on it:) I, too, love this site. I find it highly motivating for some reason.
I think I understand what you mean about the gym. It's hard to get there! I belong to the YMCA and I signed up for a weight training class that meets three times per week. The only reason I make it to the gym is because I've committed to (and paid for) this class. If I had to rely on my own scheduling and motivation, I would never get there. Even one evening class per week would be a good start!
Way to go on the gummy bears instead of the chocolate! That's the spirit!

DAY 6 (lunch/mini golf)

Cleaned house some. My dear husband and son got most things done for me yesterday even when they were leaving this a.m. for golf panning in Oregon. Bless them. I want to eat reasonably and enjoy our cool day of mini golf. Tonight alone, I want to not over eat. I could go to the gym and have a nice work out, swim, steam.

A good day as Fridays usually are. Salad and a bowl of clam chower. Tuna for dinner. Fine day, no overeating. I'm still not exercising which is not good. I'm going to have to get motivated on this!!!!! I have told two people about this and hope they do look at this great site. Tomorrow is lunch for work folks (our past diet club) and we're eating lunch. Hopefully, good food. I'm making chicken satay and folks are bringing things. Then for our exercise, we're going to play mini golf -- better than sitting in a movie. I will think exercise and instead of "trying" to motivate -- just motivate and DO IT.
