oh well, time just seems to fly

Tuesday, January 11, 2011

So here we are 2011 and I am now the officially the heaviest I have ever been. Well I am starting a journey now, actually I did start it a few months ago by a. quitting my own company and b. not smoking anymore. both I have now succeeded and feel I can start a new life from which I kept myself depriving.

Now plan of action.

- do Jillian Michaels DVD daily ( short 30 minutes routine) and twice a week box training .
- 1500 calories a day food intake
- alcohol consumption absolutely restricted for very special occasions only.
- have a new job at the end of the year/meanwhile work as freelancers to find my ideal job

Over and out

went for a weigh-in yesterday and I, apparently, lost another 3 lbs. that's a total of 6 lbs in three weeks. I actually nearly fell of the scale :)
I really have not dieted at all, only been cooking from scratch and had a lot more 'free' foods (in the slimming world terms) and even went out three times last week. I also did no sports as I twisted my ankle last wednesday. I am so happy about this! I must be doing something right or the scale did not work...

another week.

another 1.5lbs lost. amazing actually because quite frankly the only thing I have done is change a bit my eating. I have done no exercise nor cut back on any goodies and I still lost some weight. Seems bizarre...
Anyhow will not complain as although a slow weightloss still some weightloss! :)
This week will incorporate some exercise and see whether I can loose 2lbs instead on monday next week...

Are you still going to SW? I didn't exercise at all when I was there, but the weight still came off. I'm not saying don't exercise, just don't worry if you can't do as much as you'd like. You should still lose weight with the diet, regardless.

You must be happy with what you've achieved so far. Best of luck for next week's weigh-in.

Mid week thoughts

Thursday, April 15, 2010

We at work have a once a week lunch together, so one person in the team cooks a meal each week. This week my business partner cooked this amazing currry, but once eaten he said it was made with butter and double cream! bummer...

luckily I had only two apples for breakfast but will need to have small dinner as well otherwise could possibly have gone over my calorie target...

weigh-in on monday. getting quite nervous about it as will be having sunday lunch as well with some wine, so the calories could be high that day. perhaps will go for a run in the morning so can cover the calorie intake on that day.

The weigh-in is keeping me quite focused. On 1st may will be giving a talk in front of a few hundred people, hope by then will have lost a few pounds so will feel more confident about standing in front of such a crowd. FOCUS, Motivation and taking one day at a time will be my main direction.

One day at a time is my strategy as well. Hang in there, you can do this, and so can I.

low one

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Today has been quite a low day for me. I am still shocked from my weigh-in yesterday at Slimming world.

Having even taking my shoes off :) I still put on 8lbs in the last 4 weeks! so the 4 Ibs lost are back again on the double. I really lost the plot. I was so happy having lost some weight that I threw all caution to the wind. well another lesson learnt.

I think doing the weigh-in on mondays will be good because that means I can not use any excuse during the weekend for to let go.

After the weigh-in I finally had to face the truth. I will become seriously ill if I continue like this. 10 years of abusing my body with food overload is really not an option anymore. I will just have to take mini steps and be patient (I think that will be my biggest problem)
Overcoming emotional eating is also another issue I have to deal with. Not grabbing anything from the storecupboard whenever something happens in my life whether it is good or bad will be a huge obstacle.

I feel as if I have to climb a HUGE mountain at the moment, hopefully it will get better. One day at a time is the only focus I must have otherwise the mountain will beat me. So today I will focus on good portion size and healthy eating. Tomorrow is another day....

In hope

OK, first of all, before you go beating yourself up, what time of day do you normally weigh yourself and are you fully clothed or naked? Clothes can weigh 3-4lbs on their own, and food you eat and drink during the day add to your weight too. If you normally weigh yourself in the morning, then yes, you will be heavier in the evening. DON'T PANIC!!!

Even if you have gained a little, don't worry about it too much. If you follow the SW plan you'll lose weight in no time. The hardest part for me was sticking to 70 Syns a week. I like bread and porridge and found it really hard to use my A & B choices without having to use Syns too. I find calorie-counting a much easier system for me, but you might find the SW plan suits you really well. Let me know how you get on.
