Getting some extra help--Spark Coach

Monday, March 18, 2013

I have been having a lot of problems sticking to the program. I can start each day with the best intentions to make this the day I start my streak, but by afternoon or evening "I don't want too" hits and all my plans go out the window. Why do I keep stabilizing myself? Why, when I do get to goal (three times WW lifetime) do I not stay there? I get so frustrated with myself. It's time to get expert help.
I bought the new Spark Solution book, and added the SparkPeople cookbook so I could get free shipping at Amazon.com
I'll trust the experts and try to figure out my head.

I own the first spark book and ordered the Spark solution as well.

You can make this happen for you. When ever I fall off the wagon seat, I have a place to begin again. 8 waters a day, then add in 10 minutes of exercise a day.

Maybe your goals are too big for your expectations. AS I am sure you noted when you commented on my blog today, THANK YOU, my journey is life long. I have gotten here by making and meeting small goals then adding on to those.

I bet you can make 1 goal a week and add another next week. 30 days of both and you have a new habit!! Keep trying you can make changes!! emoticon

One step at a time. Keep pushing even if it is cutting out 10 calories at each meal. It all adds up. emoticon

I have found that SP Coach actually gives me a bit more inspiration, especially since I hold myself accountable to keeping track in the little notes/journal section on the first page. I like that there are different tracks you can join, also. I hope it brings you similar success. And no, you cannot beat yourself up over what you did yesterday or last month; you are on this journey for better or worse, so take the better and run with it!

I ordered the two books for free shipping, too!
Remember - each healthy habit that becomes second nature will be something that lasts. I rarely buy candy and don't drink sodas any more. That's progress!
Take it a step at a time. You've been successful before in WW, just never give up.
Write your own success story!!!

New favorite evening snack food

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

My grocery store has started to carry Fiber One 80 chocolate cereal. 3/4 cup has 80 calories, 1 gram fat and 9 grams fiber. I snack on it dry in the evening. It satisfies my chocolate craving and my snacking after dinner craving. I'd love to hear from other Spark friends what their favorite foods are.

I've had one of the other Fiber One cereals as a snack - suggested by a SP friend - but you really got my attention when you said "chocolate."

I like the Kashi peanutty dark chocolate granola bar as a late afternoon snack - fills me up till dinner. I also make up my own trail mix: 1T chocolate chips (Whole Foods makes a delicious vegan version), 2T raisins, 2T walnut pieces. I never liked yogurt, but Chobani greek-style has changed my mind. If I really have to have some extra crunch, Sensible Portions veggie chips don't do quite as much damage as my beloved Lay's kettle chips. Also, a snack from my childhood: sliced banana, milk, & a little sugar. And don't forget good old hot air-popped popcorn. You can control the salt, butter, whatever.....and you're avoiding the chemicals that are on the inside of the microwave bag.

Thanks, Gayle, you made me want a snack. emoticon

I absolutely LOVE making baked oatmeal with Craisins, bananas, and apples - no added sugar and it makes me feel like I'm getting dessert without resorting to junk! Also snack on Fuji apples and natural dried mango a lot.

I really like the Fiber One 90 peanut butter brownie for a "decadent" night snack. :) Also the Kale chips are yum!

This sounds good! I've been using the Cascadian Almond Chocolate Granola in my yogurt, but it's much higher in calories. Thank you for the suggestion!

Day #6 Do I need some help or motivation

Thursday, March 07, 2013

I have stated that the habit I want to change is to drink more water and less coffee and Diet Pepsi.
I have already received a lot of support and great ideas on my previous blogs.
It's great having so many Spark Friends who are willing to share their ideas!

Day #5 What can I improve upon

Wednesday, March 06, 2013

I have started keeping a water bottle on my desk and filling it instead of grabbing a diet Pepsi. Trying to have one glass of water for each caffeinated drink. I wish I could love the taste of water, but I am at drinking more each day.

I find it a bit hard to keep up with the water when it is cold outside, so in winter I switch to hot water.
You could try adding a slice of lemon or cucumber or a sprig of mint to your water, each f these really freshens the taste.

This is good, I had my last pop or artificial sweetened beverage Jan 13, so heading for the two month anniversary, same with coffee. I still have ENERGY, amazing

You can do, water is good!

Well done! This was a hard one for me at first, but three years later I can't stand sodas. And I still like my morning coffee, but it doesn't taste good to me after about 10:30-11 in the morning. Stick with it, and soon your body's cravings will change!!

I'm just not really a thirsty person, but I force myself to get my water in every day and I can really tell if I have not had enough. It's a great habit to work on!
