challenges

Sunday, June 02, 2013

I love a challenge they always make me try much harder. I have been having a fun challenge with my daughter who is also a member of Sparks. We both bought fit bits and I keep teasing her about letting this old lady get ahead of her on steps. I told her I would stop doing that to her cause I was feeling guilty. She has 4 children and a husband and taking college courses on line and she sure does not have as much time as I do. She told me to keep teasing cause it helps her so I do but there is still part of me that doesn't feel it is right. Her kids are 16,12,4 and 4months. Earlier this week she said mom you better get moving cause I just went ahead of you, oh what is a mother to do. I love you Beth but I need to stay ahead of you, maybe I don't feel as guilty as I thought. lol Well I want to give her a big thanks cause I have hit over 10,000 steps 3 days this past week. So Beth I guess I will keep pushing you. By the way right now I am 10,832 steps around of you. Lots of love to you.

You're so luck to have your daughter challenge you. Sounds like you are both being rewarded by the challenge. Good luck to you both!

My daughter is the one that got me to join SP. So glad I did!

My Time With Preston and Carly

Sunday, May 26, 2013

My time with Preston he and I went to Moon park which is just a few miles from were they live. He couldn't decide what to do first. I again got a lot of walking in cause he just kept going from one thing to the next. We also had a picnic lunch while we was there. I had so much fun with him and listening to him talk about different things. Here are some pictures.

His favorite thing was the sand but that pictures is to big to post on here.

My time with Carly was just getting time here and there, between naps and feedings. Here are some photo I got.

Not sure why but a lot of the pictures I tried to put on here of Preston and Carly the files was to big. So this is all I have the fit on here. All in all a great visit with Beth and family. I got a lot of walking in hit over 10,000 steps 2 days in a row. I had a great trip home I found a beautiful state park I had never been to before and plan on going back there to camp this summer. In a few weeks I am going camping with my oldest daughter and her family to lake Saranac in NY. We will be camping on an island out in the lake and we will have it all to our self. I am looking forward to that.

My Day With Chad

Friday, May 24, 2013

Chad is 12 and looking at things through his eyes is so much fun. As we are walking he just points and shoots the camera every were and any were. I put the pictures he took on his computer before I left and the took them off my camera not to smart cause now I can not show you what he did. Here is Chad when we first started our walk showing off for the camera:
Seeing him like having his picture taken is so cool cause a few years ago he was always saying please don't take my picture. I always respected that cause I love taking pictures but hate having my picture taken. Now he ask me to take his picture and posed for me.
Here are some of the things we seen on our walk my picture but through Chad's eyes:
I have to admit I don't think I would have even taken this picture if Chad had not started taking picture of the sap dripping. I am always to busy looking for birds, butterflies, and flowers. Here are some things we seen along the pond:

Chad took this picture of me:

Chad use my point and shoot to take his pictures until the battery died and then he took over my Nikon. While using the point and shoot he showed me some features I did not know about and here is one.

Yesterday was my blog about my walk with Emily and she is 16 and we had a great time, this blog is with Chad and it was so nice to see their different personalities. I love them both for who they are.

Isn't it great to spend individual time with our grandchildren. I remember when Chad was dodging the camera. It wasn't that long ago. I'm glad he's outgrowing that.
It's always good to look at life through another pair of eyes.
Thanks for sharing.

I love that you spent individual time with each of your grandkids. I have 7 with two more on the way and sometimes I am torn with trying to get some time with each of them. I have 2 grands 70 miles a way, 2 grands 300 miles away, and 3 grands 1500 miles away. I cannot think of anything more fun then spending time with them.

Another awesome blog! I just love how Chad has really become his "own" in the last year. He's always been such a sweet boy, but to see him really come out of his shell has been great. Yes, he loves the camera now, doesn't he? I can't wait, because even at the beginning of the school year he didn't! So this years "back to school" pictures should be GREAT!! A smiling Chad and Emily, can you imagine? HAHAHA!

Glad you and Chad had such a good time together. I like the sap dripping tree...very cool! And you know I love the picture of him with the bush, cracks me up!

My walk With Emily

Thursday, May 23, 2013

Last week I was lucky enough to visit with my youngest daughter and her family. To visit with them it is a 4 1/2 hour dive which I don't mind doing. Her oldest daughter and I have always been very close and she is now 16,so I am always very thrilled that she still loves to do things with me. Her and I have always shared a love for photography, so our one on one time was spent walking on some trails of a state park close by. Emily's favorite thing to take pictures of is flowers. I did get a lot of walking in which was great for me. Here is Emily taking a break.
we found this pretty moth and it just stayed there so when we go pictures I said to Emily I hope it isn't dead so she blew on it and it flew away.

we found a lot of different wild flowers. Emily's favorite thing to take pictures of is flowers.

This is just a few of the flowers that we found. It is a good thing that I got out for nice long walks in with the grand kids cause most of the visit I was over on calories. Hope you all enjoy looking at the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them and spending an after noon with Emily. Tomorrow I will blog my afternoon with Chad.

How great that you spend time walking with Emily. From what Beth writes, I believe she is growing into a fine young woman. I love taking shots of flowers too. They are so beautiful, so is your granddaughter.

I'm so glad that you two got to do that! It was nice how you got some one on one time with each of them while you were here. Preston said yesterday that he misses you. He asked me if I missed you too, and I said yes, but I didn't want to talk about it because it makes me too sad! :-)

Lovely blog!

Photo shoot with back yard birds

Monday, May 13, 2013

I set my visit up so wrong with my daughters last week end I spent with my oldest and her family and the youngest I am going to this week end. So that left me by myself for mothers day. But I took my camera to our back yard feeder and had a great photo shoot with a few birds. By the way both daughters did call and wish me a happy mothers day . My son who I love dearly is kind of distant from us most of the time but did manage to send me a message on my phone as well. Here is some of the beauties I found walking around the building.

The first picture of the blue indigo bunting he was sitting in the sun,the second he was in the shade that is why the color looks different. The one on the bird house has a nest in there. Hope every one had a great Mothers day. I did even if I did spend it alone. I will plan better next year though.

Great photos. I like birds too, but we don't have red cardinals or indigo buntings in the UK so I was particularly interested to see them.
