I'm registered for a 5k!!!

Saturday, March 08, 2014

I am super excited. My oldest child, my daughter, is turning 10 in May. She asked if we could do the electric run for her birthday. So we registered myself, my husband, my daughter and her best friend. Its going to be a blast!!! it has also pushed me to do something I realized I needed to do for a while. I need to start running again. I never paid attention to form, nutrition, stride, etc when I ran in high school...that is probably why I hurt myself even though I ignored it back then :) So my goals are shifting a bit. I no longer am going to push myself to be "skinny"..I want to be STRONG...FAST....SWIFT...have ENDURANCE.....I want to be a runner...I want to be HEALTHY AND FIT :)

Fibromyalgia friendly beverages (no artificial sweeteners)

Thursday, July 11, 2013

I am excited!!! I found out that crystal light is going to be offering beverage powders with stevia instead of artificial sweeteners, and that vitamin water zero is sweetened with stevia as well!!!!!! Also if you like other sweeteners besides stevia , monksfruit extract aka nectresse is nice. I found it in a bottle that looks like mio but says monkfruit liquid next to the stevia walmart and I actually like it better than stevia in coffee and tea. Since I quit artificial sweeteners last year my fibro has not hurt as bad

@pickie98 - yeah I am happy about the no calorie beverage options coming my way. I usually have been doing lemon water occasionally to change up my water or different types of ice tea, but its nice to have a beverage to drink when out and about with friends when they are having sodas

really sad and mad at myself

Thursday, June 06, 2013

I am officially the highest weight I have ever been :( I am now at a higher weight than I was with either of my pregnancies...I am 244 lbs :( I have a bmi of 42..I officially qualify bmi wise for bariatric surgery..I cannot afford this route, nor can I afford to be so tired and in poor health. I do not drink yet I have bad liver tests, high cholesterol, diabetes (even though my dr is ignoring it for some reason yet my a1c is over 6.1), fibromyalgia and suffer from depression and anxiety. I do not wish to have these things. I need to really take the advise that I give other people when it comes to foods and exercise and I would succeed. I also have the same problems cleaning my house. I need to keep a clean house for the sake of myself, my husband and my kids, but for some reason a lot of the time I go to clean and get so overwhelmed I barely get any cleaning done...I really am angry at myself right now

I know where of you speak. I tend to fall into that ditch way to often myself and then, of course, wallow in it way too long. BUT, we did not get like this in a day, week, month or year. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, as noted by the wise ladies below, it will take some time to overcome these problemos; and it first starts by forgiving yourself again, and dusting off our big ol' booties and pulling ourselves out of the ditch -one more time.

Remember, a winner is just a looser who failed/fell down and got up one more time!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life!

And our lives are really pretty short lived, even for the healthiest of us. Your time is your life, so try very hard to spend your time (life) very wisely. The time/life we spend with our husbands, children, family and friends is precious.

Love Yah!

I hear your desperation. I'm right there with you. I'm really sad at myself too because I was doing this. I'd lost over 80 lbs, but fell and fell hard. I feel like my entire life it out of control, including my house. SSSSOOO, what are you (and I) going to do about it??
I think blogging is a great start. It gets it out of your system.

what I did was make a to do list of all the things I need to get done, like tazes (yes, i'm still putting them off) , cleaning house, grocery shopping, and walking. Then I made a list of what I'm going to do today, and tomorrow. Tomorrow I have make a to do list for the next day. My house didn't get this bad over night, and I'm not going to fix it all in one day. Same with my weight.
Like you, I have a tendency to get overwhelmed. When I do, the bad self talk starts. Today while I was out walking I saw my shadow. I felt my eyes start to tear up and I said OUT LOUD don't even look at how fat that shadow is. I realized I was defeating my own efforts, so I changed what i was saying, AND thinking. I told myself what I'd tell my friend. BUT, YOU ARE doing something about it RIGHT NOW. Don't beat yourself up when you're changing it. You ARE doing something to fix it, and that's doing you BEST, right NOW. That made me cry harder, but I also knew it was right, so I started walking a little faster.
So DON'T beat yourself up for what you haven't done. Do something about it, then pat yourself on the back for doing it, even if it's only one thing for 5 minutes. Take pride in what you ARE doing, and trust me, you'll end up doing more because that inner child wants to hear more praise. :)

Oh Uhg. Sorry to hear but there are many of us who have been there 244 was my high point. It was the point where I said enough.

So here are some words of advice. From someone who also needs to clean her house and is over whelmed by it.
On the cleaning I tell my self I can do anything for 15 minutes. So I break down tasks. I am going to take 15 minutes and do all the laundry I can, Or work on the dishes, or pick toys off the family room floor. I also invite company over nothing gets me cleaning like having people over.
Next you need to start feeling empowered to make lifestyle changes and make them permanent. It has been 7 months of no candy this now is no longer a temptation. I don't eat candy and that is that. I have been working at clean eating. It is simple and the idea is to just eat real foods. "the Eat-Clean Diet for Family and Kids" by tosca Reno has been my latest read. Changing the way my family eats has affected not only myself but my Husband who is now down about 20lbs. There are tons of resources for eating healthy foods. Make a little change If you do flavored creamer in your coffee use less, or switch to half n half. A change doesn't have to be dramatic it can be something small.
Best of luck to you.

Wow IN-N-OUT Burger mistakenly I believed..

Friday, July 06, 2012

I mistakenly believed that In-n-out burger was healthier than macdonalds....guess I was wrong while it does taste better it is not healthier..maybe if I can learn to eat a hamburger plain with lettuce instead of a bun but still fries for me if I have a burger next time lol..scary when double double fresh onions, fries and half of a shake is almost 2,000 calories!!!!

That's what I would usually eat. A whole days calories in 1 meal. Goodness, no wonder I'm overweight.

All things considered, the bun wouldn't have cost you more than 200-300 calories, unless, of course, it was a specialty bun. Those numbers are crazy, and a great reminder why I don't eat fast food burgers anymore. Taste is one thing, but was it worth it? That's how I usually get past those fast-food grease-burger joints.

Was it at least tasty?

Component Your result
Cholesterol 194
Triglyceride 115
HDL 34
Low density lipoprotein calculated 137
A1C 6.2% normal is under 6.0%
my result was 143...normal is less than 36.....and they have no idea why my liver functions are so high.

So I saw my doctor last month and she said I have to get my cholesterol down. She is giving me 3 months. Well that was in June so I technically have 2 months now to get it down. She wanted to give me a prescription for cholesterol lowering medication right there but I said no thank you. I am still breastfeeding my son. I am trying to wean him but he has autism and is limited in communication. We are working that in as a goal in his in home ABA program. Once he is totally weaned I can go back on the diabetes meds if necessary but with my liver functions so bad right now they dont want to put me back on the metformin. I dont know what to do, as of right now I am not allowed to exercise because I fell two weeks ago and am in an orthopedic boot. Thank gods it was not broken like the ER thought, they had put it into a splint cast but ortho put me in the boot for a few weeks. I have sprained it badly and hurt the ligament. I am sad because I want to do zumba so much and dance game exercise but thats not an option right now. You never want to do something so badly until you are told you /cant/ do it....I dont know what to do my weight has never been this high. I have been watching Dan the man on liferegenerator on youtube and reading gogo green grannie and dara dubinet and dan the man on facebook and blogs and thinking since I have a vitamix at my disposal now I will go back to having the juices more often throughout the day...

These were my lab results in February.
