The new fitness tracker

I tried this when it first came out but was leaving on a trip so I stayed with the old version. What is your impression? Does it keep track of your mileage goals? Do you use the pedometer feature? It seems from the tutorial that they've made it work more like the nutrition tracker.

p.s. thanks for your kind words over my being sick - all better now and drinking lots of water to stay hydrated.

    Once I moved my routine to a group on the new tracker I am fine with it. It is more like the nutrition tracker and I like having values for ST since I do so much of it. I wish they would let me put 90 minutes for ST instead of 60 since I do 90, but can't have everything.

whoa, Sunday came down with food poisoning and spent all day Monday in bed. Not fun, but the dehydration knocked a few pounds off! I know its just water weight but its fun to see a new number after feeling crummy.

It's only 10 minutes

It's been a tough summer so far, with the heat here I just don't feel like doing much of any workouts. The treadmill is gathering dust and I think of all kinds of excuses not to get up and move. But..."it's only 10 minutes" is my mantra. If I can get off my duff and walk or strength train or stretch or move for just 10 minutes I feel energized and I burn a few calories. It's not much, but it's better than nothing. And sometimes, it stretches into more minutes.

June recap

I fell down this month, literally, and I then slipped from my habits in Sparks. I was really annoyed I missed logging in (I logged food but forgot to get log in points!) and I just got discouraged with 2-4 pound weight gains from trips that took a week each time to get back off. It's too darn hot to go outside and I'm bored with the treadmill...blah, blah blah.

I want to focus on getting more "high quality" fitness minutes and shoot for the top 5 in Phoenix! Watch out!

I'm enjoying the weight loss I've already achieved but I now have a image in my mind of what I would look like and feel like at my goal weight and I don't want to sit back. I want to take the next steps to get to my goal.

    Yes! We can do it in July! Had to laugh about you being annoyed about missing the login, when in reality you had logged in to track your food, but didn't get around to spinning the wheel for "official" login points. That has happened to me a couple of times too. I feel like I've been robbed....LOL.

Reflections on road trips

Got back last night from a week on the road. I drove to CA for a two day meeting and then drove back home. 2K miles round trip. Some observations:
- it's hard to get exercise in when you drive from 8am until 8pm
- boredom leads to snacking
- I need to go out of your way to find healthy foods when on the road - gas stations don't have them.
- I need to bring my own water to meetings and drink it
- Now that I eat healthy I notice how unhealthy those around me are eating
- my body takes a couple of days to adjust to the change in venue when traveling
- there's a lot of distractions when traveling - make a list of things to remember, don't expect to practice all your good habits when everything is new

    All good points. I like to stock up on my favorite dried fruits, protein bars, and "sturdy" fruit (like apples) when I travel.
