Calories from Monday - Friday: 1323, 1443, 1565, 1232 and 1345

I'm not doing too bad, I've been within my Spark range all 5 days, just not always in my own self-imposed 1200-1300 range. Still, just trying to get there has been good!

The scale actually showed me the lower 167s for a change so I'm hoping I'll still be sitting there for PDP weigh in tomorrow morning.

Day 4: Rode 6.23 miles (9.96km)
June mileage: Total 33.23 miles (53.15km)

    I try to have a game plan for breakfast and lunch so that I have enough left in my day for dinner. I usually track after the fact so I try to gauge my meals and snacks in relation to what I've already had that day. I'm sure if I really got into meal planning that I'd end up with a much more balanced diet, I tend to be under on fruits, over on starches and barely getting by on dairy items.

    Nice work! I think I'm going to use your low-end goal for myself this week. I've been up at the top end of my range every day, which is why I'm not expecting much progress at tomorrow's weigh-in. You're really rocking those calories! How do you do it: do you pre-plan what you'll eat to make sure you end up in the right place, or just track as you go along and skimp a little toward the end of the day if you go overboard early on?

Updates for calories and June mileage

Ok, I've set a new goal for myself to do with calories and now I need a place to put my results . I want to be eating at the lower end of my caloric range for 2 weeks, then more in the middle for a week, then back to the lower range.

I started this May 28th in my head but then wrote it out as my goal for our 13 week challenge so I'm going to post last weeks' results so that I have that as a reference for this week.

May 28 - June 3: 1269, 1237, 1413, 1523, 1140, 1424 and 1647

I probably missed something on that 1140 day since I don't tend to end up UNDER on my calories but even so, that puts me in my desired range for 3 days out of 7 (plus 2 days upper middle, 1 day right at the top and 1 day over). It gives me a starting point!

Day 3: Rode 6.52 miles (10.43km)
June mileage: Total 27.0 miles (43.19km)

A day at the cottage

Today was the 1st day we've spent at the cottage this year. It's always great to get away from the city. Our whole family was there so I did some mowing (for dad), played in the sandbox with the kids, helped build a new hutch, barbequed dinner and did way more dishes than I'm used to (no dishwasher!).

Jim and I also went cycling for 50 minutes first thing this morning so it was a very full day.

Day 2: Rode 9 miles (14.4km)
June mileage: Total 20.48 miles (32.76km)

Day 1: 11.48 miles (18.36km)

I had a great 62 minute ride this morning in absolutely perfect cycling weather; no wind, sunny and 16C. It was gorgeous.

Well, today is more or less the start of the Summer Sizzle 5% Challenge. I set my goals today and have a game plan to get past this plateau which involves calorie management, lots of cycling with increased distance and speed, getting the elliptical from Sandi (and using it a ton!) and increasing my lame water consumption. I really need something to click again for me and want that scale to cooperate!

My cold is pretty much done so I'm back to having NO EXCUSES to be on track with exercise and nutrition.

Caught a cold

Lucky me, I've caught one of those yucky summer colds. I could feel that tingle in my throat last night and sure enough I now have sore throat and a slightly stuffy nose. Hopefully it's not a bad one.

The good news is that I've just finished 4 cups of Jasmine tea so I'm halfway through my water for the day. I'll see how the day goes, I'd like to get in some sort of exercise but I don't want to over do it and run myself down.
