I moved recently so I had no internet..Now I am back on spark people.
I have lost two pounds recently...However I seemed to have gained it all back in one week...weird..
Still need to join a gym, waiting for one of my roommates to get back to me on adding me to his membership. I really don't want to gain anymore weight. It is not like I've been eating more either.. Hopefully I can find something though. I didn't realize gym memberships were so expensive here.

You don't need to join a gym to lose weight. Go for a walk/run, play in the park, bother the neighbor's dogs and then run away from them. All good exercises.

Found a job!

Friday, August 24, 2012

So I recently had an interview..and I passed and got offered a job! I will be cashiering at a grocery store. I am really nervous. I have never had a job in a place with so many people around. I hope I am able to do well. Orientation is tomorrow.
Now I will have to figure out how to be able to keep working out/while working. There is a gym nearby where we live, but I have never worked out around strangers before(except in school. I guess I should just think of it like gym at school lol..)
I have skipped my work out since Wednesday(my normal day off). Hopefully after I figure out my work schedule I can start planning a new time to work out. I guess the best thing would be to join the gym. I wouldn't feel safe jogging in the area I am moving too because of the busy traffic. The gym is only $20 though, so its alright... I will have a lot of fears to overcome this upcoming week. I will try my best

You might find standing all day hard on the lower back. Make sure you've got comfortable shoes! Also, if you find yourself tensing, you can do a little "shimmy" from belly dancing to help relax your lower back and simulate moving around:
A shimmy is done by letting your hip loosen and just moving your knees back and forth quickly. It's not hugely obvious (just looks like your fidgeting), and if someone asks you can just say you're a bit chilly :). Good luck and congrats on your job!

Cashier jobs can be physically demanding. To add to it, stand in place and twist at the waist when you scan items. That will work your core. If you're standing there waiting for a customer, do a few squats or walk in place, maybe even walk around the cashier stand a few times. During break walk around the store. Of course, start off in moderation and build up. The first few days of a job when you have to stand for hours on end will be difficult.

Congrats on your job offer. That's great! I used to work at a grocery store and it was one of my favorite jobs. Made lots of great coworker friends to make long hours go by faster. Starting a new routine is a great time to start playing with new ways to fit in your workouts. Another advantage is you'll never have to worry about forgetting a healthy lunch.

Sounds like you've bravely taken a step towards some personal growth with this job that's outside your current comfort zone. Hey: people are people are people! Give them a chance, and you'll find there are some nice ones out there. (And the rude impatient insulting ones... well, try to imagine that they're having a bad day and just venting anonymously at a random cashier in the grocery store!)

It'll take a while to settle into a new schedule, of course. But things have a way of smoothing out and you'll find time for your workouts again soon.

So, take your right hand over your left shoulder... and give yourself a big pat on the back! Congratulations on landing your job!

This is my first blog I guess... Umm.. So far my new work out routine is going well. The first week and a half I felt rather dead/tired. Now I seem to have more energy again. My endurance has gotten better, and now I am able to job with very little walking for a full hour. I don't really enjoy it though. I end up getting lost in my thoughts and slowing down/slowing down for the need to breath. Though my body isn't actually tired anymore when I go jogging. I think I need to work on increasing my speed now, and perhaps that will give me a better work out.

Most my days are spent working out, cooking, then looking for a job. I have gotten a call back for a job, but honestly thinking of calling the number back leaves me with anxiety So I am too afraid to check my messages and stuff. One job recruiter not only called me, but emailed me to tell me I didn't qualify for a job. LOL.. that was pretty amusing.

I am helping someone else look for a job as well. I feel very bored/drained. I really want to go back to school, but my student loan defaulted so I may not ever be able to go to college again..at least if I go I might not be able to get aid to. So school has been put off again for me. I am not as depressed as I sound. I just feel really kinda blah... I wish something good would happen for once. The days seem to be going by quick. At least nothing horrible has happened or anything. Also I lost 6 inches...So that is good. My hip measurements are still around the same size. Oddly my hips fluctuate between 40-41 inches. Before I was only eating around 500-900 calories a day. That was making me sick, so I increased my calories to 1200, and now I have gained weight..but have lost weight at the same time..it is odd and I have no idea what is going on with my body. I wonder if I will ever reach my goal of 35 inch hips. Maybe I am just not meant to have small hips. ^^" anyway enough rambling. Bye for now

No..I am probably not built for 35 inch hips. I can dream though XD It is just awkward being as short as I am and having such wide hips. Maybe I will be satisfied with my wide hips one day. The smallest I've gotten them is 37.5 inches @_@' but that was when I was unhealthy...
Yeah I am eating healthier now, which is good~ and I just found a job =D

Um, are you built for 35 inch hips? It will come down to bone structure and your body type. Reaching a number isn't as important as looking healthy and feeling healthy. Is it possible, more than likey, but will you be skin and bones to do it? You will gain muscle and lose fat, but 500-900 calories a day is probably not enough, you body will eat your muscles and you need those. emoticon

Just keep looking, my BF was laid off in May and he's looking too. Good luck!
