First week of Fall 5% Challenge- disappointing

Well I know I should be so hard on myself but it's an automatic. After a full week of the Fall 5% challenge my weight stayed the same. emoticon I am trying to pin point the reasons why, I mean 2.6 pounds down one week and nothing the next???
I did have over 250 minutes of fitness, maybe it wasn't intense enough. I am hoping to get in more cardio this week, hopefully my work schedule will cooperate.
I did have more carbs in my diet this week than I did the week prior, I will definitely cut those down this week. I also had a very hard time this week eating 6 small clean meals every 2-3 hours. Work made it almost impossible to eat on a schedule so I probably ate more than a serving size when I did find the time.
Since the quarter end will be mostly wrapped up by Tuesday I am looking to get back on track this week with exercise and food.
Here's hoping that week 2 is better! emoticon

    You will see it - sometimes it doesn't come right away. You are doing great - just hang with it! The gains come from us getting frustrated with a stall or plateau or small gain, then we go off track! We're here for you! :)

    I found out the hard way.......increasing fitness minutes means you should increase your calories. However if you aren't eating the allowed amount of calories this could also effect you lack of weight loss..............and sometimes there is no real explanation for not losing weight one week........it will even itself out even if you continue with your fitness, eating the correct amount of calories and drink your water............Best of luck. emoticon

Fall 5% Challenge - Eating Clean Woes

I have been eating clean for about 10 days now, lost 2.6 pounds the first week! The energy levels and much improved digestive symptoms are well worth the effort this diet takes.
For those that aren't familiar with this diet, it takes alot of prep work. You should have all if not most of your meals planned for the day. It requires you to eat every 2-3 hours. Here is where I run into the problem. My job has me so busy that I don't remember to eat every 2 hours, please some days I can't even take 5 minutes to pee!
I pack my "cooler" every day, and have enough food in there to eat every 2-3 hours but honestly some days it just doesn't happen. I wonder if this is hurting what I'm trying to accomplish with eating clean.
I think I may have to set some kind of an alarm to remind me to (who would have ever thought I would have to do that!) emoticon

    I know what you mean about hardly having time to go to the bathroom with a busy day at work! But I think setting an alarm is a great idea. Just try to use it as a "me" moment...just a little break. Sounds like you need those little breaks in your day! Good for you on losing some weight already!

    I love it! I try to eat clean as well. Although, I wasn't aware of the diet plan... I just try to avoid processed foods (all natural is my focus--meat, veggies, and fruit).

Fall 5% Challenge - calling all butterflies

So happy I found this team! emoticon emoticon
There have been moments over the last few days when I didn't feel like working out, or that candy bar machine was calling my name. Then this little voice in my head would remind me that I have this team of wonderful people counting on me to try my best. It worked!
I am more committed to both working out and keeping my clean diet CLEAN.

Fall 5% Challenge going well until....

I got home from work and had no plan for dinner! AH!! emoticon This is where I run into trouble with sticking with my diet. If I don't have a plan everything in sight goes in the mouth. I am trying to think of what is quick easy and still following the Eat Clean diet.
I started out the day with a 30 minute jog followed by 30 minutes of weight training. It's been a while since I lifted weights so my arms are pretty sore right now.
Eating was perfect all day until now but I am determined not to run to McDonald's for dinner. I will find something in this house to eat........hmm but what? emoticon
Anyone have dinner suggestions?

    Sorry - this was late but I would say eggs are always a good choice. Even a low-fat cereal is good, or some lunchmeat wrapped with veggies inside.

When I am really together I do things like grill up a bunch of chicken for the whole week, or make some taco meat. The taco meat is great - low fat beef (or ground turkey) with beans and I make tacos, salads, or just eat it with brown rice.

Hope you found a good meal! I almost did McD's for lunch, but just got something for my 4 year old and came home to a healthy lunch!

    We did french bread sandwiches from some left over roast beef from Sunday. :) (The bread wasn't as good this time though, as I tried some Sara Lee "French" bread rolls. They really aren't French bread in my opinion, hence the quotes.)

    KISS- Keep It Simple Silly my rule when feeling rushed! maybe meat, veggies, added to tomato sauce, or beef broth, kind of cool , today.

or egg omelet, made with whites and veggies and spices & herbs. Fruit Later!

Fall 5% Challenge pushes me to spin class

I must admit after a loooong day at work that started with an 8am meeting another meeting scheduled during lunch hour and countless deadlines I was ready to call it a day @5:30. emoticon
But, then I remembered my team mates are counting on me to get some kind of workout in, and my body needs me to workout. So off to spin class I went. emoticon Let me tell you I am so happy I did! What a fantastic workout and I feel soooo much better than I did before.
Work has me so run down lately with stress, I have to remember this feeling right now and know that pushing myself to do some kind of workout everyday will reduce the stress and have me feeling soo much better in no time.

    I think that is amazing! I have busy days too, but being a Stay at Home Mom I have a little more flexibility about when I get to do my workout. I don't know if I could do it at the end of a super busy day working. So good for you!!!!
