So I went way off track during the past few weeks. I used the excuses of SuperBowl parties, family coming into town, and going out of town to visit even more family to throw my hard work into the wind. I'm pet/house sitting for a family for a week starting on Tuesday. I'm going to use that whole week to get my habits back in check! Using today and tomorrow as buffer days- getting healthy groceries, packing up all my weights and equipment to take to the house with me, and setting many small daily goals to reach. Need a good figurative smack in the head to get back with the program! emoticon And I'm only going to weigh myself tonight before bed. The rest of the week is going to be shrouded in mystery!     Setbacks are a bummer! I use them to remind me that I really don't want to go down that road again! I'm able to get over setbacks much quicker now because I know how much work it took to get where I am and how quickly it can all disappear.

Day 24- the attack of the flu!

So this week has been horrible! Over the weekend Mat and I had visitors from out of town. I did well on my eating and didn't splurge too much. Then I got hit hard with the flu. I haven't been able to hold anything down except for saltine crackers last night and today. The rest of the week was spent on the couch in cold sweats. Today I'm up and moving around the house a bit. And man oh man am I starving! I don't want to overdo it though so I'm sticking to crackers, Sprite, and water. I'm going to hold off on exercising for a few days as well. I barely have the energy to walk around the house! I'm down another 5lbs and don't enjoy how I lost it in the least bit. emoticon

Day 8 Part 2

So I'm a little stressed right now due to something I can't even deal with until tomorrow anyways. Almost immediately I start getting cravings for comfort food. My mind keeps going over all the yummy things that would make it better. But all those yummy things would be a step back from my progress. It's too late to be doing any workouts to calm down my nerves and I really need to get some sleep. Maybe a cup of tea or something. Some breathing exercises might help, too. Wish this would have come up earlier in the day when I could have fixed it instead of later to leave me just enough time to dwell on it!

Totally nailed my workout today! Got up to 3.2 on the treadmill! Woo! Someday I'll get back up to my 6.5 that I reached when I was in high school. Did abs and a few yoga moves as well. On top of that, did a bunch of cleaning around the house. That should count as a workout! Haha! Fighting some cravings after the workout though. Already had my snack earlier so I'm drinking water and trying to hold out a little longer for dinner. Doesn't help that my boyfriend is eating Hershey kisses in front of me. Grrr! Think skinny, think skinny!

Today has been a great day! I've scheduled out all my meals for the day, set aside time for me and my boyfriend to take the dogs for a walk, and even got a much needed haircut!


Now to just watch football for the rest of the day and relax on my rest day!
