A tip for a better sleep

Monday, May 13, 2013

I exchanged my pillow with the things for travelling that go around the neck - see the photo and sleep a lot better as it is nice against the draft that comes when the window is open and it is important for me to have fresh air when I sleep.

It can also be made out of a pair of woolly socks or sewed and filled with beans or rice

Sleep well dear emoticon

I love the sock idea ! The travel neck supports you buy at the store are always too puffy and hard for me so they end up forcing my head forward in an uncomfortable position, but with the sock I think I could just fill it to my level of satisfaction. Thanks for the idea emoticon

A pep drink

Saturday, May 04, 2013

These days I am sick so I have lost some weight in the bad way
- meaning - staying in bed for long time a day and not being hungry so weight loss is muscle loss
So I am concerned about what to do to get up in energy and up in strength..
Here is my drink of recommended herbs:
From my garden I took a half handful stinging nettle (with gloves on)
and a half handful mint leaves
I rinsed them with cold water and cut them in small pieces with scissors
and put them in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of chamomile

Boiled water for my teapot warmed it - and put the ingredients into the pot
Let it brew for about 8-10 minutes and sewed it into a thermos and my teacup
That is that.. by the way I also put some juice in from an orange I squeezed

Bread and diet

Sunday, April 07, 2013

A member of Spark People sighed how awful it was not eating bread.
I know there is said some things about bread
A diet can also be with bread - If it is filled with fiber and whole grains.
Actually Magnesium is something modern food often lacks.
Bread with a lot of oat bran has Magnesium in it.
I have made a recipe for bread using oat bran. It has a consistence that is a little wet. So I often roast the slices I use. When I made it as balls for a party all of it was eaten with joy
Actually many people like it.
Here is the recipe:

Healthy fiber rich oat bran bread
Submitted by: FRIDA11

The dough just has to be stirred and rest overnight and 25 minutes in the oven.
Everybody who has tasted it - loves it The dough just has to be stirred and rest overnight and 25 minutes in the oven.

NB! If you stir the dough by machine.. Do not stir more than 5 or 6 minutes.

I love my whole wheat bread and eat one slice everyday. Once in a great while I eat a white biscuit or roll with dinner.

Bread is also eaten very much in Middle east. A change until whole grain pitas would make a big difference there.

There is a solution to everything..
I freeze the bread I do not use in day portions.
And as I make y own bread There is a limit to how much bread I have time to make.

I make a big distinction between plain white bread and whole grain bread.
Plain white toast bread has no nutrition. And gives no work for the stomach
You could might as well eat cardboard or your daily newspaper.

In our country, it's hard to not eat rice as rice is staple food. Bread, well, that what we call western food which looks like becoming our staple food, too, hehe.

Aerobic exercise sessions per week adults should aim for..

Thursday, April 04, 2013

To achieve minimum health and fitness benefits, adults should aim for how many aerobic exercise sessions per week?

Aim for a minimum of 3 days of cardio (aerobic exercise) per week with no more than 2 days off between sessions. Gradually work your way up to 5 or 6 days per week.
